Story:In a small village in the Southern Lands, a group of elite warriors known as the Mako Samurais train. Young men and women eagerly await the day that they can start their training to become one of these
heroic samurais. However, when war breaks out among the Northern and Southern Lands, the Mako Samurais are sent off to join the Southern Army in the war. Among them is Wakashi, our main character, Tao's father. 10 years pass by, and no word has come from the Northern Lands. At this time, Tao and his friends have reached the age in which they are finally ready to become Mako Samurais. But before Tao can join his father, he must face one final challenge...

Characters:
~Tao~
Our Main Character, Tao! Tao is a silent protagonist, and thus, doesn't really have much to say. Is he mute? Did he take a vow of silence? Is he just socially awkward? I dunno, play to find out.
Tao's father was the great Wakashi, leader of the Mako Samurais. He's always wanted to follow in his fathers footsteps, and thus joined in training to become one of them. Now, his day is finally coming.
But is he cut out for the life of a Samurai? Or should he stick to fishing and eating? Play to find out!

~Basket Head~
Basket Head is Tao's best friend, and a total bro. Frequently incorporating brahski, and broseph into his daily dialogue, Basket Head always manages to break the ice.
Ever since he was left in an orphanage in a basket, he's always dreamed of becoming a Mako Samurai. Now that he's old enough, he dons the basket he was left in on his head, becoming the totally
chill Basket Head. He is the strongest member of the party. (JUST BECAUSE OF THE BASKET. IT'S THAT GOOD.)

Mitzi
A childhood friend of Tao and Basket Head, Mitzi is one of those kind of people that talks... a lot. Not that it's necessarily always a bad thing. She doesn't put up with Oki or Basket Heads nonsense, and is usually the voice of reason in many of the scenarios. Like the others, she too has been training to become a Mako Samurai. Will she be able to acheive her dream?

Oki
The last member of our gang, Oki isn't exactly the most humble guy around. In fact, he's pretty full of himself. He uses verbal insults to put down Tao and Basket Head (but we all know he's just jealous of that sweet, sexy basket...) He also frequently tries to score with Mitzi, and usually gets nowhere. So, will he become a Mako Samurai? Let's hope not!!

looks good smile.gif. Any ideas on a release date, or have you finished yet?

--edit--

oops, sorry, didn't skim the whole thing. I may try this out, looks fun.

Haha, yea, it's already available to be played!

My game is obviously a prequel to yours. (Oracle of Tao)

Even though the plot is totally different. It's like Final Fantasy, they have little/nothing to do with each other.

Next we need something called the Journey of Tao that has nothing to do with either of ours. It looks like a pretty good game, nice sidequests and stuff.

Haha woahh that's weird... I might have to check out your game now.

What's even weirded, is that I'm considering a sequel for this, and it's literally gonna be called, no joke, Journey of Tao. O_o

You must make it have NOTHING to do with the other game then.
Deividdo
The game is cute. I played it for about 1.5 hours. I really liked the mastermind game, but I didn't get any prizes for beating him.
I've played up to the building in the Waka Forest, but I am finding the battles too long and tedious as I try to figure out how to go up the tower. I'm very glad there are no random battles in the game, but the nearly unavoidable monster on small platforms are only slightly better.
Daio
This game is pretty promising, I must say. I've only played up to the Northern Lands, but here's my impression so far.

Pros:

1) Very well done graphics and audio.
2) Enjoyable characters. Tao and Basket Head are endearing enough to

Cons:

1) Upon reaching the Northern Lands, too many enemies with ridiculous attack stats. Tao lost nearly his ENTIRE health bar after a round and he was only hit by one enemy.
2) Too many chests with nothing in them. What's the point of having five chests in the area only for nothing to be inside other than to waste time?
3) Mastermind doesn't seem to give the prizes it promises, and winning is a chore. The odds are already stacked against you with the additional colors, but the black/white doesn't seem to follow any kind of order, and also feel glitchy.
