We all dream, some more so than others. Some of us can't recall much about them, aside from a vague remembrance, others remember the most tiniest of details.

And then there's people like me, people who have some of the wildest, most active of dreams. I tend to act out (a lot) in my dreams, although most of the time I don't remember what I dreamed, or that acted out and have to take my wife's word the next day.

Anyways, most of the time I can attribute my bizarre dreams to eating the wrong kinds of food or very late at night or, as in recent cases, drinking caffeine before bed. So I got to thinking, maybe I should share some of these dreams with the community I'm most close to, and maybe others can share some of theirs.

So without further adieu, some of my most memorable dreams... and nightmares:

DREAM 1
Back when my wife and I were dating, she spent the night at my apartment. I fell asleep in the bedroom, and she took to the sofa in the living room. I remember dreaming that aliens were coming to suck me into their ship and when I woke up the first thing I saw in the dark room was the round overhead light fixture. Still stuck in dreamland, I imagined it was the alien ship and ran out of the room screaming. My wife-to-be woke up and stopped me right before I bolted out of the apartment in nothing but my boxers. Funny that she married me after all of this.

DREAM 2
Another time I dreamed that I was camping in a tent and a violent storm errupted. A hand reached out of the sky and plucked my tent up where I was hiding. I looked up at some demonic face and screamed myself awake.

DREAM 3
This is probably my favorite of dreams and would make for one awesome Family Guy episode. I was Stewie, and I was home with a babysitter while everybody went out. Freddy Kruegger comes along and kills the babysitter and attacks Stewie, but Stewie wakes up in time and holding a figurine of Darth Vader. Freddie somehow appears, so Stewie slaps a helmet on his dad Peter and uses mind control to get him to duel it out with Freddie using light sabers. I even wrote a longer skit on this which would have made for one of the bes FG episodes ever. Guess maybe I'll settle for it being an RM game, if somebody ever wants to take the challenge.

DREAM 4
This one happened shortly after my daughter was born. My sister came over and we watched Carnival of Souls (the original b&w version). That was the first time I watched that movie and for some reason the scene where she's playing the piano and envisioning the dead chasing her freaked the hell out of me. I went to bed that night and dreamed that these demons were coming after me. One of them laid their hand on me and burned my whole face, to the point that I could almost feel the heat when I woke up freaking out.

DREAM 5
Just last night. I dreamt that I was in purgatory, waiting to be judged to go to heaven or hell. The first place I noticed when I entered was that there was this room with fresh bodies, all wrapped in plastic and hanging from the ceiling. I am then sent into the judging room, where there's a whole bunch of people waiting to be judged.

There's this guy going around with a staff, and he wacks the people on the head, which apparently is how they get judged. If the person's forehead turns white, a spirit comes out and flies to heaven, but if they turned red, the spirit comes out and goes to hell.

Well, there was this one guy that was sitting and sweating, and the guy came up to him and smacked him in the head. His head turned red, but the spirit came out. So the guy wacked him again, but nothing. They then tell him he's not dead yet and send him out of purgatory. After that, his twin brother (who actually is dead and was supposed to be sentenced to hell) suddenly appears, but they believed he was the same guy that was sent back to earth and so they send him away just the same.

After I woke up, this got me thinking about how that could happen. Like the dead twin knew he would go to hell, so he sent his living brother to be judged, and then when they inadvertently sent the dead twin back to earth, they more or less gave him permission to stay on earth for eternity, thus escaping torment.

DREAM 6
Finally, the one that will stay with me forever. When I was growing up, we didn't have a big house, so my brothers and I all had to take turns sharing bunk beds. One night I fell asleep (top bunk, I believe) and had this horrible, bizzarre dream of running through this field. Now, I can't describe what I felt in this dream or why it was scary. I was running from something, I don't know what, and maybe this field reminded me of Children of the Corn. Everything was a sort of brown and oranish color, with moments of white, and I kept thinking something horrible (like a clown or something) was chasing me.

If had to come up with a thought of what I was feeling, I'd suggest listening and/or watching the videos to The Cranberries album To the Faithful Departed. The video to the song Salvation has this evil demonic clown character that sort of reminds me of Pinhead from Hellraiser. That reminded me of the creature in my dream chasing me. There's another song on this album that sort of resembled my dream at that time called Will You Remember. It starts with these drum sounds, a bit of jazz, and then goes into a sort of medieval type music, but whenever I hear it I keep thinking (because of the background sounds) of an abandoned carnival.

Anyways, in my dream I was running as fast as I could, and there was this boy ahead of me also running. This boy suddenly stops and bends over, like he lost his balance or something, so I reach out my hand and grab him. Well, I woke up in a sitting position in the bed and my brother was already sitting up, so naturally I reached out and grabbed him, but then he turned around and started screaming as loud as he could.

When I finally calmed my brother down he started mumbling about this dream he had, in which he was in a field, and some sort of clown was chasing him, and he lost his balance or had to tie his shoe or something, and when he looked around some hand reached out and grabbed him.

It took me about 5 seconds after that before I realized "Holy shit, we had the same fucking dream." To this day, we both remember it quite clearly and, while nothing like that has ever happened to us since, we can't help but wonder how in the hell did it happen to begin with. At the time, my parents had divorced and my brother, being young, was talking with a therapist, and her answer was that some times siblings can be so close that they share each other's dreams.

Sick dreams man biggrin.gif I like the alien one pinch.gif
When I think about it, I realize that my most horrid dreams are from my childhood. Here's a few messed up dreams, for your reading pleasure:

The Momster
My mom kissed me goodnight, left the room, and then the little hallway area connecting the hallway to my room stretched out super long and all twisty, then a monster started charging in and right when it was about to bite my head off, I woke up to my Elmo toy (of course) laughing 0.0

The Monopoly Man
This was a recurring dream in my childhood. Don't know why it scared me so bad, but they are the worst nightmares I can recall having. I would fall asleep, and then it would seem as just second later a brown-skinned version of the Monopoly man would be hanging out of my wall, tapping me on the shoulder with his cane, just talking to me. Can't quite remember what he said, but he did say stuff to me. One time, my dream self actually ran out of bed into the living room to tell me parents what was happening, and then he appeared over the mantle and my parents made friends with him. Then he turned Caucasian. I never had a dream of him again, and I never sleep with my face towards the nearest wall.

Screamville
This is one of my more recent nightmares. It seemed as though Earth was far into the future, and it kind of looked like Corneria from Star Fox Assault if you've ever played it. So normal day, walking through town, when all the sudden, screamer faces (e.g. "look closely") appeared on every single holographic screen. For those of you who don't know, I have an intense fear of screamers, but when I see them it strangely doesn't bother me too much. So I'm running from all these faces popping up everywhere of different people with their eyes missing, blood gushing out of them in every way possible, so I make the wise, conscious decision to go into the bathroom! Because that's a horror movie's best friend wink.gif Anyway, I look in the mirror and my face starts to twist, and I'm screaming and yelling but standing still, then all the skin on my face rips off. That's when I wake up 0.0

Torture
In this dream, I had to witness the brutal killings of a lot of my friends. These gruesome killings included being slowly consumed by acid, getting slowly chopped up with a rusty machete, and bits of glass shattering all over the person, which caused them to slip and land in the glass. In every killing, I would have to try and find a way to stop it, and I got three tries. If I failed, I would ultimately end up not being able to save them and I had to move on to the next killing. I never actually got to where I could save their lives :\ THAT would make for a good RM game, wouldn't it? laugh.gif

Damn, Elmo. I love the guy because of how demented of a puppet he is, but if I woke up to his laugh I might have had to light him on fire.

Your monopoly dream was kind of funny and reminded me back when I was but a boy. My younger brother, 3 or 4 at the time, would wake up screaming in the night; this went on for awhile (like maybe a month at least). A few years later he finally decided to tell us about those nightmares he had. Apparently a bunch of cocola straws had climbed up on the bed and were jumping up and down on his chest.

Edit: By the way, your Torture dream sounds like it would make for a decent RM game, sort of in the style of Calunio's "Beautiful Escape" but in reverse. Instead of being the villain and setting up the traps, you'd be the victim trying to escape them.

I used to have a recurring nightmare about living on a farm and there was a storm and the chickens were drowning and...oh god it stillk scares me....

I remember one dream I had it started off with me being bored so I decided
I was gonna rob the corner store I flipped a coin to decide whether I was
gonna dress up as santa or a halloween thing to rob the store but then
I decided that was boring so my dad two of my brothers and three of my
sisters magicaly appeared and my dad was gonna buy us smoothies so
we went into the store to get smoothies I wanted blue raspberry so I got
it drank it in five seconds and went to explore the store but then my dad
called me saying I needed to get a smoothie even though I just drank one
but I went to get another one anyway I decided to get grape but I couldn't
find it so my brother showed me where it was for some reason all english
is french and all french is english on the labels so I had to read french I told
him it said lemon lime and the colour of the drink was blue but he said it was
grape so I got it and it tasted like lemon lime but then it turned into grape so
while my dad was paying for the drinks I decided to go look for a candy that
doesn't even exist while looking for it I saw a book with a picture of kid Gohan
going to school so I decided to look at it it was a book with a bunch of different
characters going to a weird school the first story in it was Laura The Explorer
and had a picture of the Pokemon characters sending a girl to school where
she meets Dora The Explorer but I wanted to read the one with Gohan so I
started looking through the stories I saw one called Wheezy the Cheezie and
Mike The Firetruck but nothing with Gohan so I got sad and the book exploded the end

Um... anyway. My dreams, for reasons you might be able to discern, usually involve video games. I had a really awesome one where there was this boss and it was a bullet, and you had to chase it around an arena in the sky with a warp star, and there was hyperactive techno music in the background (I think) and stars flying out... in other words, I had to fight a giant smack-talking Bullet Bill as Kirby on Final Destination in SSBB. Yeah, it was kind of like that, but in 3D.

A much simpler one started out something in the way of a GoldenEye spy adventure, with me apparently taking a long journey through Southern Europe as a spy. The last level was when things got weird... there was this girl, who was apperantly part of a psychic collectorate... and she wanted me to join the collectorate. And I think I either ran around like a chicken with its head cutoff or something, or maybe I just said no; either way, the girl (who was probably not human) ran away and sprayed mud all over the room. Or something. That was a really weird dream.

The third one is where I go with an Adams Family clone into a dark cabin in the middle of nowhere... well, I almost go into the cabin, but one of them (creepy pale girl) takes me out into the middle of the woods with a bone saw. This is because it's probably made out of bone. Either way, she spends the time sharpening it (!) and then a Toyota falls out of the sky during idle conversation, lands a few feet in front of me (I'm on the ground now, and I can't get up), and starts to run over me.
This is the part where I wake up. Most of the above dreams were done in more or less a single night. I need to work on getting those scary women out of my friggen' head.

No, I stay off drugs. I am working on various... weird mental issues (mental?), so I'm sure these dreams are perfectly normal for someone like me. Sort of.
No, really. No drugs.

My childhood dreams are much less... ridiculous. One was where my mom was tucking me in and I was facing the closet to the right of my bed. Predictably enough, a giant monster (blue-skinned, Sully-ish) jumps out of the closet and starts running at me while shouting "Booga-booga-booga-booga-BOOM!". At "BOOM!", he tackles me (eats me?), and I go on a dreamtime acid trip so scary that, to this day, I will never sleep with my head turned towards the closet. (I'm 14, so it's justified.)
Another was where... well, you see, when I was a kid, I liked to sleep with my ears under the covers. I don't know why. Anyway, I try sleeping with my eyes not under the covers, and I get two dreams, and both of them involve life-size nutcrackers, and both of them scared the crap out of me. I don't know, either.
I can remember a really interesting dream in my childhood. You see, I was at a fast-food restraunt and a lady at the counter told me that giving/sharing is a good thing (or something to that effect. This is a dream, see?). Next thing I know, I'm in my mom's bedroom, on the bed, it's dark, and I can hear a monster coming into the bedroom. I try to hide under the covers, but before I can get under, the beast slowly lumbers into the room, on four legs, and looks at me. I have a chocolate bar.
I slowly, tenderly, reach out and give the beast my chocolate bar.
And I have no idea what happened after that.

Speaking of video game dreams, when I was but a boy still living with my parents I had a sort of Legend of Zelda dream. I went to put it in to play and was shocked to realize that a whole new adventure opened up (complete with a new world in everything). Basically it was sort of like the world to Zelda II, but it was the plot of the first Zelda, only much more engaging, and the challenges were tougher, and it seemed more realistic. I kept telling myself it was a dream and in my dream I was pinching myself and jumping around to see if I woke up, but I didn't, so I became convinced that what I was seeing was real.

And then I woke up to realize it was actually a dream, and I was mad. My brother was on the floor by the tv playing Legend of Zelda, which I'm guessing is why I had a dream of it.

Mine are usually horrendously sexual in nature and can't be posted here!

I do trip out occasionally though (without illegal drugs). This one time there was a chinese dragon bopping up and down in my mirror all night. I couldn't move my knees because it would get me. It chased me around the room at one point. Not sure what triggered that one.

I tend to have pretty epic dreams. Ones that usually go into my writing. Involving magic and spies and adventure and love current, gained, and lost.

Other times I have dreams where I'm driving intoxicated(usually after a night of drinking) or that I'm a sunflower.

One time I tried meditating while listening to new age "crystal music" (Really mellow, relaxing, almost ethereal music. I got the bright idea to fall asleep to the music since it was so peaceful. I had a nightmare of such Lovecraftian horror I woke up screaming and running out of my bedroom(almost ran out of my apartment too). Didn't sleep for two days and I couldn't even remember the damn dream.

I also have a tendency to dream about the girl I most recently dated whenever I'm in a new relationship. Not a good thing as I talk in my sleep.

I've had...a lot of 'interesting' dreams. I record them regularly actually XD It takes anywhere from 10 to 40 minutes just to write down one dream. I've fought aliens, been sucked into some sort of psychopathic real life video game where you play for your soul ._. , been chased by weird ass Silent Hill ish creatures, some bdsm dreams that really aren't appropriate for this forum ... >_>

On top of it all, I'm a sleep walker >_<
When I was younger my mum had to get REALLY creative with ways of keeping me from walking out of the house at night - from extra locks, jamming knives into the doorjam...yea. The worst sleepwalking episode I walked outside, in the middle of the night, during a blizzard that had shut the entire city down. It was -30 celsius out, at least a foot and a half of snow on the ground and it was still snowing, and I was in pj's with no socks or shoes >_> my mum got dressed as fast as she could and caught up to me in the parking lot; and because you can't wake a sleep walker she had to walk me back home, and for some reason I insisted on taking the long way. When she asked me the next morning what I'd been dreaming, I told her I dreamt that I was going to retrieve my dead cat from a friends house who lived across the city - he'd been dead several months and in my dream I was convinced that he was with my friend...

I have really wacky dreams based on the Hunger Games.

So, once I was in the Hunger Games, and me and my friend Sam made an alliance. Well, me, him and my other friend Harry were the last three alive, and Harry was a Career. Well, he threw a knife at Sam, but I jumped in the way of it, and it sliced me in the neck. With blood gushing out, I didn't see the one thrown at my stomach, but it hit me, and lodged itself in REALLY deep, you couldn't even see the handle. I fell to the floor, silently, but the cannon didn't fire. Sam let an arrow fly at Harry, killing him, then knelt down to me, trying to heal me. "No..." I said to him weakly. "I'd have to fight you..." I said, pushing him away. I hear the cannon fire, just as my vision blacked out for good.

Luckily, I woke up.

In another dream, I was Peeta, and when Cato says "I know where I cut him." he actually says "I sliced his head off, chopped his arms off and ripped his legs out. He's dead." where the other Careers were trying to say I was behind him, and I sliced his head off with his own sword, and Clove and the District 3 boy knelt down to me, asking for forgivness. "I'll make it quick." I said, killing them.
