Anyone ever heard of this great series? It's a RTS game.
I know there was a thread about a year ago, and I checked like the past 5 Pages and saw nothing about this game, so I decided to make a topic.

It really isnt an RTS and even if you classify it as one I still havent really found one remotely similar
Pikmin is one of my favorite games of all time. I liked Pikmin 2 better personally but they are both great games
Im actually amazed that people havent or dont want to play these games :c
(also, if you do a game thread its good to give some information about the game~)

Yes, there was a Pikmin topic some time back - I forget where...
I love Pikmin, and tend to join in every single discussion about Pikmin (it's in its own genre, in my opinion, lol).
I was working on a Pikmin (RMXP) game recently, but was more interested in building it as a Starter Kit than an actual game.
I work on it about once every two months... D=
Yeah, don't have much time for it unfortunately... =\
I'm also working on a Pikmin Comic - just for shitz 'n gigglez - which may never see the light of someone else's monitor, but still.

Pikmin is also one of my favorite game series of all time. Unfortunately, Pikmin 2 is rare to come by, and when you actually do find it, it costs a lot. Like the nearest store that had a copy of Pikmin 2 was like 50 miles away and sold it for $40.

Yeah, but it's so worth it! >:3
I make the argument that if they don't come out with a Pikmin 3 soon, I'll have to burn birds! (Not you, Albino Parakeet, other birds.)

Pikmin 3 best introduce the rest of the colour pikmin that where seen in Pikmin 1's ending, along with a White and Purple Onion(They where seen too)
Or I be sad.
And what will we have to collect? Since we collected ship parts in the first game, Treasures in the second... More treasures?

Well, you'd think the game would be a hell of a lot easier if you could breed purple and white pikmin like you could others. You would dominate the battlefield. Unless you somehow nerf them, it would be for the best to keep them onion-less.
Just think about it...
Mass Purples = Stun all enemies and deal massive damage.
Mass Whites = Feed them to enemies to do massive damage, rebuild population, rinse, repeat.

Just make the enemies harder; proactive, based on how many White/Purple Pikmin you have on the field.

That would be a little strange...
Red Bulborb prowls around the level. He suddenly gains 20 more pounds of jaw muscle to devour Pikmin faster and 20 more pounds of body fat to increase endurance against damage because you withdraw a few purple Pikmin from their onion. It would basically defeat the purpose of purple Pikmin's strength if enemies were buffed and would penalize you if you were to fight an elemental monster that you can't use purple Pikmin on but you still had purple Pikmin on the field.

If you have 50 of each, each enemy turns into the waterwraith. Try getting through a dungeon floor with 40 waterwraiths chasing you from every direction, that's an amazing id-No...wait...that's not good.
On that topic, what actually sets off the waterwraith? Is it how long you've been in the submerged castle, or what? I've heard multiple theories.
1) The waterwraith appears after you've been in the submerged castle for 5 Minutes.
2) The waterwraith is a triggered event that will always happen.
3) When the Pikmin carry a treasure, once they reach a certian point, the waterwraith will spawn.

There should be a new type of pikmin in Pikmin 3...You know the Bulbmin?
There should be a pikmin that can take control of small enemys and use it to attack...
PS: I HATE SWOOPING SNITCH BUGS!
"Yes...Swooping, is bad..."
EDIT: I'm not sure what sets the waterwraith off...Isn't it picking up the final treasure on one of the lower floor's? Hmm....

Waterwraith...
It's harder than the Titan Dweevil.
Contrary to popular belief, I didn't find the Titan Dweevil all that difficult.
Waterwraith made the Submerged castle so tedious, annoying and ragequit worthy.
EDIT: My theory is:
Nintendo have placed "Triggers" around the floors 2-5. When a Pikmin touches this, it counts up by 1. Once it reaches 3, the WATERWRAITH comes to annoy you.
Now testing the theory X_x

It has to be 1, because I've collected all the treasures of the second and third floor before the waterwraith appeared in like my 2nd playthrough of the game.
And btw, the Waterwraith isn't even hard. I don't know why people say he's hard. I mean, he's annoying, but he's not difficult to fight or escape from.

Yeah I did a no-death run. It involves resetting the game and suffering from frustration. But in the end, I guess it's worth it.
What you could do to the Man-At-Legs, is get your Pikmin behind one of the obstacles of his floor. Then, awaken the Man-At-Legs and run back to your Pikmin. He should be on the other side of the obstacle. Once he lowers himself, attack with purple Pikmin (use spicy spray for faster results) and call them off before he shakes them off. Now, he will be stationary where he is once he takes out his weapon. Call your Pikmin back behind the obstacle, and the Man-At-Legs's bullets hit the obstacle and not your Pikmin! This is the fastest way to kill him without deaths.
The way that I did was a bit time consuming and less effective and I don't recommend it. I attacked the Man-At-Legs as he was awakened. And before he shakes them off, I call my Pikmin and bring them to a remote area of the arena. Then I dismiss them, run to the Man-At-Leg's circle, and start running around it while he shoots. Usually, you won't get shot if you have the the speed upgrade. Then once he settles down, I recall my Pikmin and repeat.

That's a decent strategy.
My strategy for beating the Waterwraith, was to have lots of bitter spray, lol. I just sprayed the wraith and tossed a few purple Pikmin onto it.

I rarely lose Pikmin because I'm a very cautious, patient game-player. I play at a very slow pace because I like to enjoy every aspect of a game - which is why I don't go completely insane when something bad happens (I've likely planned for it and am all right with it before it happens). I'm strange, lol.

The president character mostly just annoyed me. Yes, Louie was supposedly the dim-witted character that annoys Olimar and does everything wrong... but he's much better than the president (he sold the previous ship that belonged to Olimar, almost got the company bankrupted, and almost forced Olimar out of work, he's lazy... etc...), lol.
Louie's just a big kid, whilst the president is an irresponsible adult.

That's actually a bad idea. The bitter spray adds quite a lot of damage-resistance. I think it multiplies the target's resistance by 10. All you got to do is toss one purple Pikmin at him and he instantly solidifies and repeat until he shakes them off. Then, once he raises his front wheel up and roars, call your Pikmin back, wait until he starts moving, and toss again.
I am also very cautious, and that lead me to do no-death runs. And I always die a little inside every time I hear a poor Pikmin die.

Well, what you do is right as you enter the final floor, toss all your Pikmin on the nearby ledge. Now walk all the way around the arena to the Empress Bulblax. Dismiss one captain behind the laboring Bulblax, and all the little larvas will attack the dismissed captain, and the captain's AI automatically attacks it. Don't worry, he won't die. Now, get your other captain to call your Pikmin and begin attacking the Bulblax.. You could get 0 deaths and you don't have to worry about the troublesome larva. Spicy sprays are recommended for faster defeat and less damage done to your behind-the-scenes captain.
