Damnit Homu! Every time you post art it's so good it makes me itch to start drawing again They're all so dramatic, it baffles me how you do it.

Cool and disturbing artwork XD 1,2 the owl-whale and last one are my favourites~ You have a very unique style, even if doodling!
Aug 7 2011, 10:07 AM
Thank you so much everyone! Gah, I has teh super happies! I have been very very in touch with my art lately and know where I want to go with it more than I ever have lol. I finally feel like I have a solid grasp of what I want to do and how I want to do it when I'm drawing/writing >: D And the 3rd and 4th character is a redesign of an old character of mine, Void, they've been posted in sketchy comics I've posted in my old topic. It was done with a ballpoint pen, sharpie marker, white gel gen, and red and white nail polish while I was waiting for water/pasta to boil/cook haha.
Emby: >: D
Sparrowsmith: >: D LOL I can tell you my secret but unless you forget what a favorite passtime of mine is, I'm sure that it won't be any new info
I'm working on a digital piece right now, still a LOT of work left to do on it :S

Homu your art is awesomes D: You need to totally get on MSN more yo' D:.
Also: That digital piece looks like it's going to be some sort of mutated mermaid. ;_;
Aug 26 2011, 10:27 AM
Aw, you people make me smile :.D thank you VERY much, approval of my new art style makes me VERY happy : D The newest addition there, the fish-looking-mouth-nose-thing is going to be a fish, but its fins are tongues and its back dorsal fin thingy is a nose I'm very excited to finish it, I haven't really worked on it much since I posted that pic though unfortunately.
I have a shitty copy of a 99% complete piece here lol I have a better quality picture of the 100% complete pic, but, you know... I'm too lazy to walk 6 feet in front of me and get the SD card out of the Wii. So, you know. Deal with it for now. LOL.
Sorry if I posted some of these already in an old topic, I just can't remember what I've posted and what I haven't. Shit gets confusing when you're gone a long time haha.
My newest addition, my character on a pizza box. I dunno how clear it looks, but the words are just "Don't judge my happiness" over and over and in teh complete version it turns into "Don't judge my fucking happiness" and later turns to "Don't fucking judge my fucking happiness" over and over lol pleasant piece OH SNAP, that version doesn't even have words!!!!I LIED, it's like 95% done in this pic lol
Character concepts of my character Tan
First piece of digital art I did stoned
Self portait, bitches
Aug 26 2011, 10:47 AM
So crazy twisted weird awesome cool(sortof) acktly sketched madman odd interesting inconcievably brilliant that I can no longer create a cohesive and grammatically-correct sentence without puking.
So yeah. You've got yourself a career in the crazy-face art biz.
Aug 26 2011, 03:35 PM
The self-portrait is amazing! I didn't know you were an owl! D= Oh wait, there was more if I scrolled down... It got even better! >:3 I love grey-scale imagery - it's brilliant, in a black/white sort of way! ^^
Aug 27 2011, 07:06 AM
Benman, that is hands down one of the best comments ever left in regards to my art LOL I lol'd so much that I'm putting that as a quote in my signature lol thank you VERY much
Bahaha thank you XMO! The self portrait was a thing I was doing for a 20 or 30 day art challenge that I haven't gotten past day 1 cause my tablet broke and I didn't bother going back to it after I fixed it lol.
But I DO have this WIP, I'm in the process of coloring her now. I love my character Void She used to be a stupid innocent-like-anime-acting-dude but lol I turned him into a beautiful woman. Just cause. I have my reasons lol.
Aug 27 2011, 06:58 PM
Homie!!! where you been? Good stuff you got going on here! Post more!
Aug 27 2011, 07:22 PM
Homster, that DBZ comic mad me laugh so much.
Hot damn! Your art is so differently awesome. I love how you shade things with such a scratchy technique. So beautifully gothic.
Aug 28 2011, 02:39 PM
THANK YOU! LOL and I've been just taking life as it comes mang.
Darkblade, thank yoouuu I have become very fond of crosshatching.
Aug 28 2011, 11:23 PM
I absolutely love it! The colours, the shading style; it's great! =D Reminds me of a girl I met recently named Angela. Cool stuff! >:3
Sep 2 2011, 01:35 PM
Thank you so much mang! !!! It was my first time trying to combine crosshatching and colors with digital art. I've done it a lot with markers, but never digitally lol. She's actually loosely based off of an old friend of mine, she's one of the prettiest women I've met, couldn't think of anyone better to base my character off of.
I HAS A LITTLE MOAR ART.
I have sketches nao :/ sorry for the shoddy quality, I don't have a scnner or camera so I have to take the pictures with my cellphone LOL.
This one's not done
Sep 2 2011, 06:57 PM
I love the "What is this nonsense?" image! Brilliantly done!
I have difficulty seeing the imagery on the newspaper (I have bad eyes) but I can read the "For just that instant, the sun looked so heavy" part. Curious idea. =]
That last one certainly isn't done, but it looks like a wolf. Must see completed version! O_O
Sep 7 2011, 04:27 AM
Thank you mon amigo! I was very happy with the way the nonsense one turned out LOL it started out as just a doodle at work, I scribbled on that paper to get the pen working whenever it was hassling me and I ended up turning it into that bahahaha.
And as for the one in the middle, that was an idea I had for a digital piece I wanted to do so I quickly sketched the concept. Which is now complete, and I feel complete now that this is completed lol. I had this image stuck in my head for a good week and a half, so it feels GREAT to have it done.
Also, I'm not really sure what this is supposed to be LOL I started out with the red circle cause I wanted to practice drawing something that glowed, but I ditched that original idea alltogether and did... This... THING... ? lol
Also, which piece looks better? With or without the light around the buildings?
Sep 7 2011, 11:44 PM
The sun image looks good with or without the sunlight reflecting off of the buildings. Though I think the reflection gives it more of a "it's raining and you can see where the rain drops have fallen" effect than a "the sun is burning the buildings" effect; if you get what I mean. D=
The crow's red eye looks absolutely amazing! (I just named it that randomly, lol. It does look like a crow's eye to me.) ^^
Sep 12 2011, 03:55 PM
I think I like the picture better without the light, but at the same time that "It's raining" effect is what I'm looking for lol. The picture is suppose to be just that brief fraction of a second prior to buildings melting, just that impossible-to-calculate moment of silence before the storm.
And thank you! LOL I do think it looks like a crow too, I just have no idea where I want to go with it haha. I've worked on it a bit more but not enough for it to be worth showing the updated version.
I do have another WIP though
Sep 12 2011, 05:14 PM
Well, be sure to show the "crow" once you've finished it, or updated enough to show. =D
This new piece is very cool. The colours are really amazing together, very retro-style. Also, the curvature of the hair is brilliant. The shading and face structure is also quite perfect. I'd like to see this painted on a black wall using green paints and then turn out the lights and turn on a black-light. That would be amazing!
Imagine, a room full of your artwork, all painted on a black wall and then a black-light making everything come to life in that way. :3
Sep 12 2011, 11:23 PM
That one image of the black circle appears to be an eye or wormhole of some sort...or something, lol! For the sun, I think the one with the light looks very pretty with its brightness. As for you WIP, it looks awesome~ The colours you used give it a 3D look
Sep 13 2011, 07:39 AM
Aah, I love this piece so much.
Sep 27 2011, 08:03 PM
Thank you very much everyone : D! Xman, the part of the picture that took me the longest was the hair hahaha I got totally lost in the lines and curves and shit haha it was super fun. The colors were actually inspired by Windows Media Player hahaha. It made me remember that those two colors are my favorite color combination.
NEW PIECE. I call it psychadellic snowstorm XD
Sep 28 2011, 10:12 AM
Aww back from the dead I see, I have always loved your work homo, very ruff and dark, now you just need to get yourself a scanner so you can start doing some commissions. Id love to hire you.
Sep 28 2011, 10:46 AM
I remember when your dad was hangin around he made art just like this. What was his name again? Oh right, Charles Manson.
Sep 28 2011, 12:02 PM
Your artwork is spot-on! I really do like it, very colourful. The black really stands out, and looks great. =D (Love the lips, especially.)
Sep 28 2011, 03:38 PM
Loving it all...reminds me...I have several pieces on the back burner that I've meant to finish...namely a sketch of Sweeney Todd. I love dark art/writing - you should check out my art and writing threads
Nov 25 2011, 10:21 PM
OH MAH GAHD. So I finally think I'm over my art stump lol I hadn't arted any actual "put effort into it" pictures in months, but I think I'm back on track. I only have the picture I'm working on though lol the one that got me out of my rut.
She's a character for my brother's upcoming D&D campaign, L5R.
WIP reside within
It's a shitty sketch to remind myself of a pic to draw, and it was taken with my shitty cellphone, so it's double shitty BUT. I can't post shit without posting something creepy, can I.
Gauged out eyes can't connect DISCONNECTED CONNECTIONS UNACCEPTABLE Right? Throw them in a bowl A bottomless bowl ALL EYES ON HAVEN
Nov 26 2011, 12:40 AM
The one for the D&D game looks fantastic! Can't wait to see it fully coloured. ^^
Also, did you (by any chance) get the idea of licking the brain from Pirates of the Caribbean? (Jack Sparrow licks his own brain at one point, if you've seen the film.) >:3
Nov 27 2011, 08:47 PM
Thank you! And whut? LOL brain licking takes place in Pirates of the Caribbean? Hahaha which one?
UPDATE ON MAH LAYDAY. She is closer to completion
Large image yo
Nov 28 2011, 02:26 AM
Very nice update! The colours are smooth and gorgeous! ^^ Looks like a pastel, very nice. =D
And yes, it's in "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End", which I believe is the third PotC film.
Dec 4 2011, 09:52 PM
Why thank you! I enjoy blending colors very much LOL it's such fun.
AND MAH SEXY LAYDAY IS COMPLETE
Dec 5 2011, 12:35 AM
Amazing job on the colours! Also, very nice work on the wrinkled areas of the clothing (it's hard to get that shading to look correct).
One thing I noticed, that doesn't seem to work well, is that the neck area seems off. The blue area of the shirt seems to be hugging the skin around the chest area a lot more than is portrayed around the neck area. Because of this, I don't see the collar bone, which should be visible through the shirt. I hope that makes sense. D=
Anyway, it looks divine (brilliant shading and colours)! ^^
Dec 5 2011, 09:43 AM
YES, THANK YOU! The collarbone! Oh man, that should so help. You have no idea, that neck and shoulder area bugged me from the moment I drew it, but I was too lazy to erase her arm and redraw it so I just rolled with it LOL I even sat down with a friend and we discussed what I could possibly do to make it look better than it originally did. And. I think adding the shading to imply a collar bone is a fantastic observation. Thank you mang
Dec 6 2011, 12:53 AM
You're welcome. ^^ I can be useful on occasion.
Dec 6 2011, 12:59 AM
You have a rather nice style for your human drawings. I wish I can say the same, haha. I suck at drawing people in general. Then again, practice makes perfect, which is something I rarely ever do. Can't wait to see more of your work.
Dec 21 2011, 02:11 PM
Whoa, this is great! Have I ever mentioned that I love surreal stuff? Because I absolutely adore it! <3 I love the picture of the guy ripping off his face, haha. And you're pretty good with pens and watercolour... they are partners in crime, and you are the ringmaster of their evildoing! >:] I feel like the only thing your art is missing is anatomy and proportioning. For example, on the picture of a girl with red watercolour in the back, her forearm seems too skinny. I think I adore your faces and shading the most - you're very good with eyes and lips (which, if you asked most artists, lips can be very difficult to draw!).
Jan 5 2012, 10:39 AM
Thank you VERY much for all the great and useful feedback I know I say it a lot but it's so true that it's worth saying, I REALLY appreciate it so much
Minius, you're absolutely right. My style has changed a LOT over the past 3 years or so and I'm having a really hard time applying a lot of the rules to said style. But I also went a good 2 years where I didn't take art very seriously, but over the past couple months I made a new resolution to stop it and get back to making art my lifestyle and not just a casual hobby. Yea yea!! That being said, I has some new art. Characters for my graphic novel.
Jan 5 2012, 01:32 PM
Wow, it definitely appears as though you've returned to your old style of artwork - and it's looking better than ever! =D I absolutely love the idea and details in the first and third images. ^^
The second image is quite amazing though, in its own way. I think one of the heads on the back of the chair is missing its body (head amount and body amount don't match). But the idea is really cool. =]
Good to have your old self back. =D
Jan 5 2012, 04:25 PM
LOL yessss, i realized that after inking it
And thank you very much!! It's taken me a LONG time to change my drawing style and conforming it with my content style. I'm getting back on track though and honestly? Deviating from the content REALLY depressed me, i eventually just gave up on art cause i lost inspiration and i got really depressed. Now i'm back on track LOL expect lots more art more often
Jan 5 2012, 04:33 PM
Awesome! =D Well it is great to see you back on track, and hopefully you'll find inspiration when you're feeling low. ^^
Oh, and I've just recently made a new art competition, if you're interested. The theme isn't relative to most of your current artwork, but it might be something you'd be interested in doing for fun. (See my signature for link and such; would love to have you join.)
Jan 8 2012, 02:58 PM
Thank you! I haven't abandonned doing a variety of styles luckily, so i'd absolutely love to join in on them as soon as i get the internet
Feb 1 2012, 10:34 PM
Good to see you still pushing out awesome art Homunculus. Always interesting to see what you put together.
Mar 18 2012, 11:13 PM
Although I still has no internet, I do has some art hahahaha Most of it's pertaining top my graphic novel, but not all of it. It'll probably be easy to tell which ones are and aren't LOL.
I also have a Deviant Art now, rhlstudios.deviantart.com
