I never thought I would say this about MTV, but I saw some light, for the first time in many many many years. I'm hooked with one of their shows. I'm talking about "Teen Wolf". When I first heard about it I thought they were remaking the 80s Teen Wolf movie or something, so I lol'd and ignored it, then I watched a trailer on the internet and I was like "Goddammit, Twilight all over again...". But since I am a huge horror, supernatural, werewolf/vampires fan I decided to give this a chance. After watching the first episode I was kinda surprised, but it was also kinda common for a werewolf show (like if I cared, I fucking love these stories) so I decided to keep watching while keeping my expectations low.

Then after each freaking episode I started getting more and more into it. I'm a loyal WWE Rawfan (YEAH THAT'S RIGHT! F YOU!) But this last Monday night I skipped WWE Raw because the preview of the last Teen Wolf episode was so freaking amazing that it left me wondering what was gonna happen... so I decided to betray my Monday Night Schedule and Raw so I could watch Teen Wolf on tv.

Yeah the show has some stupid romance going on but it's MTV and they're probably trying to get ratings from girls too, so I'm guessing that by adding some teen romance (even though many werewolf stories have romance in it) and a few guys that look good shirtless will attract the female demographic. But the story is good enough for us manly dudes that love werewolf stories to ignore that and just watch the Alpha stalk and kill a few people for our viewing pleasure.

Anyone here watching this show too? I highly doubt it lol

I watched this show a long time back! D=
It wasn't as entertaining as I liked, at the time especially, and I dropped it after a short while. tongue.gif

By a long time back you mean?

And damn that was a fast reply xD.

Edit: oh wait it wasn't that fast, I think I blanked out for a couple of minutes or something. I blame it on a girl.
X-M-O
XD

I happened to be here at the moment, lol.

At any rate, a long time ago for me would be like 5 to 10 years... But I don't recall exactly when I watched it, it wasn't anything to write home about.
Zakerot
Well I'm talking about a new show on MTV that started around mid June 2011 bro, lol.

Edit: Here, it's not related to the 80s movie. I just thought it was because of the name.
X-M-O
Oh, lol. Thought you were talking about the film... ><

I haven't seen this new Teen Wolf thing, but I have heard of it. Some commercial I saw, but I guess that was before it started showing.

I read an article on its stars last month or so. The show looks interesting. I'll have to watch it when I get home.

I watch it. It's not that bad and I enjoy watching it but I wouldn't say it's a favorite show of mines. The romance in it is a bit forced and it annoys me but still, it's entertaining.
Zakerot
I forgot I had this topic.

Yeah the romance is a bit forced, it obviously seems like it wasn't going to be their main focus or maybe they felt limited because the season is just 12 episodes long. It's not a 'Supernatural' or 'True Blood' but the show is definitely worth a chance, specially if you dressed like a werewolf in Halloween and no one knew what were you dressed as, but as soon as a shirtless guy appeared everyone was calling him a 'werewolf', hurting your feelings in the process. Oh, and the cast is pretty good too.

There is a site called Werewolf News where the writer there was talking about Teen Wolf (around May) saying how it looked like a "Twilight knock-off" and a few days later he received an email from producer Jeff Davis.

QUOTE ( Andrew from Werewolf News)
"I know I said in my last post that I was just going to sit quietly until the show came out, but now I can’t. After exchanging a few lengthy emails with Jeff over last weekend I’ve learned a lot about the show that’s not immediately evident in the slick trailers."

Jeff went even as far as to give him a photo of the Alpha Wolf a month before the start of the show.

BTW all 10 full episodes can be watched on MTV's site: Link to episode 1

Edit: Doesn't that picture makes you want to snuggle and cuddle with it?

I decided to watch the episodes I missed (from the one where they were trapped in the school) up to the latest one and it's great! Like, wow! I never got into Supernatural or True Blood but I've heard a lot about it. I don't really like getting into shows that have a lot of episodes but if I feel up to it I might check them out. I really like the cast too.

People seem to be calling any werewolf/vampire thing a Twilight knock-off these days. Not that there aren't things cashing in on the vampire/werewolf craze but peoples' works deserve at least a watch before being labelled a knock-off.

OMGWTF @ that pic. I wasn't expecting that at all, it scared the hell out of me.
Also, yay at you liking horror movies! I've been in the mood for a good horror for a while now! Do you have any recommendations? I rented The Final which I thought was a horror but it turns out that it's some sort of teens get revenge on bullies with tons of squick thing. I haven't watched it yet but I'm already kind of iffy on it.

School Night is one of my favorite episodes and Stiles' taunt was just perfectly timed xD.

Well, it's not easy to recommend horror movies. Not everyone likes almost every sub-genre like me, lol. Hell, I even go as far as watching 40's-60's horror movies.

I don't know when movies are 'scary' because I don't get scared, instead I get excited. So the way for me to know if a movie is scary is by looking at peoples' expressions. Of course, when they're intense, I can feel it.

These are a few I really enjoyed that aren't too old:

1408 - "A man who specializes in debunking paranormal occurrences checks into the fabled room 1408 in the Dolphin Hotel. Soon after settling in, he confronts genuine terror."

The Shining (1980) - "A family heads to an isolated hotel for the winter where an evil and spiritual presence influences the father into violence, while his psychic son sees horrific forebodings from the past and of the future." Well this one is old but a classic is a classic.

Stephen King's The Mist (2007) - "A freak storm unleashes a species of blood-thirsty creatures on a small town, where a small band of citizens hole-up in a supermarket and fight for their lives."

The Descent (2005) - "A caving expedition goes horribly wrong, as the explorers become trapped and ultimately pursued by a strange breed of predators."

Stepfather - Although I recommend the 1987 version 100x over the latest one.

Let Me in (2010) - "A bullied young boy befriends a young female vampire who lives in secrecy with her guardian."

Credits to IMDB for the short summaries.

But if you prefer the more mainstream horror (which I recommend watching with friends, makes them a little bit more enjoyable) then Scream 4, Insidious, My Bloody Valentine, Halloween, Dead Silence, The host, etc.

And yeah I'm waaay off topic here. Sorry.
