Full Version: Broken Ad Code?

Hey,

Basically, everytime an advertisement banner appears for Acquisio my entire page turns into one giant link, as if the <a href tag is not being closed. When this happens I typically have to refresh the page until the ad goes away, once the banner is gone everything goes back to normal. This only started happening now for me.

Here is a screenshot I took, although it doesn't show my mouse cursor, it shows the banner in question. If I put my mouse anywhere on the screen it's a link to the URL in the bottom left corner. If you go hover your mouse over one of the ads, the link is in the same style as every other ad. Thus ruling out Spyware, besides, it only happens on the forums.

Did anyone else notice this, or is it happening to anyone else?

Edit: It's actually quite annoying, that ad tends to appear quite often, like 8/10 page reloads

Never happened to me. I don't have Acquisio's ad often though. What's your browser?
Ty
I am currently using Firefox 5, but the same thing happens with Google Chrome. It literally only started happening five minutes ago

Wait, I just noticed something weird. That banner, isn't it located immediately below the RRR Network bar in your screenshot? Because my screen looks like this:

Yup, I have the Acquisio ad below the R3 Network bar and an another ad above it. here is a higher res picture:

I can't seem to be able to view the other ad. Tried to view the forum as a guest, tried to use a US IP address... nothing.
Ty
I am using a European IP address now and the ad beneath the RRR Network is now gone and the problem is fixed if I stay on the EUR IP, since I never saw the Acquisio ad yet. But go back to CAD/USA IP and the entire forum page goes borked. Viewing the source doesn't help, since it just links to an external script.

Edit: using a USA or Canadian IP makes the ad return for me. Damn Europeans get to see less ads than us.

Gotta love Uk Ips!

I can flag it up with i entry though.

Apparently, it also depends of the location inside the US. I don't see anything with a IP from Chicago, so I tried with Atlanta, and despite finally seeing the other ad, no Acquisio no matter how many times I refresh.
I'm sure I saw it when I was at work though, so I'd need to remember the proxy...

EDIT: Got it with another US address. And you're right, the link takes up the entire page.

Strange you don't see it from Chicago. My USA IP is in Woodstock, Illinois, (Suburb of Chicago), and it definitely shows.

That would be great~ I'll use the EUR IP in the meantime. Can't click worth shit otherwise
Kread-EX
I tried with 3 proxy servers located in Chicago, enabled all the scripts but nothing at all. Indeed, it's weird.

Okay, glad to know it's not only limited to me :V

Yup, getting the same thing with IE, what it's doing for me is it pushes the site off to the side so half the screen is just gray, but usually refreshing helps to fix it. Annoying, but I'm sure we'll all live until it gets fixed.

Same for me. Anything I click redirects me when this ad is present.

I'm using Firefox.

I am having problems as well. Sometimes when I click a link to go to another page it'll redirect to an ad instead. I'm using Chrome
