So I've been reading the Scott Pilgrim series lately (after seeing the movie and absolutely loving it), and I've been enjoying it very much. I've also read the Watchmen (loved that too), along with an assortment of comics from my dad's old collection. So, just out of curiosity, does anyone else share this interest of mine?

Admittedly, I'm more into japanese comics, but I do enjoy a well written story from the west from time to time. Back in 2000, I discovered this gem.

Yes, I was already a Duck fan before that, but anyone who likes comic in general should put their preconceived notions aside about Disney and get this.

I do enjoy manga, but probably just as much as graphic novels and other forms of comics.

Also, I happen to be a Duck fan myself - and you are awesome from bringing up the Life Times with Scrooge McDuck comic!
If Disney did comics like that all the time, they'd be much better off - my opinion. tongue.gif

The only comic book series I'm interested in getting all the issues of is The Amory Wars.

I've also read The Watchmen, which I thought was fantastic, and I'm also working my way through Sin City.

Too bad Don Rosa had to retire due to poor eye condition.

One fan visited him for a house tour. It's pretty interesting.

There's also a documentary which can be bought about him. Here's the trailer:

A new hardcover edition is out and I'm planning to get it. The paperback just doesn't cut it anymore.

That's really sad, considering his artistic abilities.
Very cool videos though! Even though I don't watch as many documentaries now as I used to, I'm sure that would be a great addition to my collection of films. ^^

I'm happy with my old paperback version... the memories of reading it... nostalgia... =]

Am I the only person here who thought the two following thoughts?

1. Superman VS Doomsday was the greatest graphic novel of all time.
2. The movie based on it was absolutely horrible.

I want to read that comic, but I do agree that the film wasn't that great. tongue.gif

Death of Superman was one of the first trade paperbacks I ever received. I think a friend gave it to me for either my 10th or 11th birthday, and I fell in love with it. It was an amazing story with a great finish in the upstarts saga that followed. I remember a friend in college moving and having this huge box of comics (roughly a long box full) that he wanted to get rid of, so I traded him my Dreamcast for the entire box, which contained the entire Superman Death/Rebirth arc, Spawn 1-20 (which I quickly sold), and some good spider man issues from the late 80's early 90's along with a various plethora of x-titles from the 90's.

Also yeah, the movie was pretty horrible, but All Star Superman made up for it.

My Brother and I used to collect a few in the 90's and early 00's:
The Beano, of which we have several annuals and a few years worth of comic books
Buster comics published by Fleetaway
Sonic the Comic also published by Fleetaway
There was also a comic I liked that we collected, I think it was called Captain Cosmic about two Space
adventurer guys dressed in red uniforms, it was pretty good.

We used to get the Marvels one every now and then, my brother recently got back into the series and started buying the Collection
book which has the old X-men comics. I'm personally not into them.
Although I recently purchased the X-men Noir which was awesome (Mainly for Noir reasons), if hard to follow in some places.
