Full Version: Review on the rules

Okay, so I just want to clarify on some rules at RRR to get a better understand what they mean.
You know, more detail where detail is needed.

Global mods:
I know this may sound silly but I'm only asking because some Global mods control some sections of the forum.
Isn't a global mod in charge of all the forums or would that be considered an Administer?

Spamming:
Does it classify as spam if you are talking about the subject but not actually contributing?
Or is that in the grey area and the mods have to decide that?

Illegal activities:
Does it matter if someone says they do illegal activities at another site?
Would he/she get a warning for that if continued to talk about it?

Advertising:
How strict is the advertising?
Like can you say you created a game at www.Blablabla.com and get a warning for that?
Also, what if you advertise another site in you signature?

Stalking:
Really, how can someone stalk another RRR person. I'm not talking about real life stalking.

Necropost:
I know what it means and that some sections allow it if necessary.
But if not, what is classes as a necropost?
What is the timeframe? 2 months? 1 year?
Also, what if some gets warned that they are necroposting but after a lot of people start posting on the topic again and staying on topic?
Does that mean it's not classes as an old post?

Okay, so I just want to clarify on some rules at RRR to get a better understand what they mean.
You know, more detail where detail is needed.

Global mods:

Global moderators have jurisdiction across the entire board, however they also have specific areas that they are named moderators of - which means they pay a little more attention to those areas.
Administrators (Directors) have other functions, such as group management, moderator management, and the like.

Spamming:
Does it classify as spam if you are talking about the subject but not actually contributing?
Or is that in the grey area and the mods have to decide that?

Generally speaking, SPAM is something that does not contribute AND is off-topic, or destructive to the topic.
SPAM is generally unwanted, unnecessary posting. Although there are some posts that may be considered spam by a few members/moderators, others may not consider it to be spam - so there is a grey area, but it's not all that grey really.

Illegal activities:
Does it matter if someone says they do illegal activities at another site?
Would he/she get a warning for that if continued to talk about it?

It's best not to talk about it. If you do illegal activities, you should keep it to yourself - and stop doing them.
Distributing materials is also a breach of this rule, and linking to places where illegal activities occur is also a breach of this rule.
You can be warned for talking about it, and banned if you supply or ask for information about committing illegal acts.

Advertising:
How strict is the advertising?
Like can you say you created a game at www.Blablabla.com and get a warning for that?
Also, what if you advertise another site in you signature?

You may advertise legal, non-pornographic sites in your signature.
If you wish to advertise a site, that is legal and non-pornographic, in a topic - then you may create a topic in the Ad Plaza.

Stalking:
Really, how can someone stalk another RRR person. I'm not talking about real life stalking.

Stalking may be done through harassment via PM or otherwise. Basically, following someone around on the forum posting behind their posts just to annoy/aggravate/etc. the person, would be considered stalking. As well as annoying them via PM or via their profile.

The time-range generally is more than a month, for most areas. Some are more lenient than others.
If someone necroposts, generally it is closed and people are unable to reply after that. When it occurs, only the first person to necropost is generally warned.

Hope that helps. ^^

I've noticed some people get warned for Necroposting in pinned topics but... well I dunno it doesn't really even make sense, it's not like the topics being brought back to the front page or anything, it was always at the front page.
Holder
We shouldn't be warning for people posting within pinned topics, that's what they're pinned for.
If you like you can PM me with the details and I'll check it out.
