Ive compiled a small list of rescources which can be useful in editing or creating resources for RPG XP or any maker really.

Sony acid allows you to lay down loops of music and sound bytes and make songs, the trial version will let you utilize up to ten tracks at the same time. It also supports a .midi editor although ive never used it.

Fruity loops is a lot like Sony acid in some aspects but it has a gretter range of customizability as far as creating music goes, the demo usually comes with a few sets of sounds bytes that can be put together to make songs. some of the demo sets are pretty extensive.

Audacity is just a freeware sound editor that is simple and easy to use i use when all i need to do is cut, or convert a sound file when i dont feel like firing up the more complex programs that can be used.

Character Maker XP is for the most part pretty stock in its rescources but what is unique about it is that it allows you to create characters using pieces rather than getting down to the pixel to create unique characters.

Tileset Creator is the exact same concept as Character Maker XP, except your doing it with tilesets. Again this one is pretty stock.

For those of us that are veteran RPG devs, most of us have these tools already, but for those of you who are just starting out, these can be great in helping you enjoy the process of making a game from start to finish and then getting to see your finished product once and for all come to life before your very eyes.
