OK, so appart from my love of games i also love music and am actually more of a composer then any thing else, and only recently started to work with rpg maker XP. one of the main reasons i started was so i would have something to make music for! my very own game with my very own music! ^ ^

Any ways, i was checking out the makers default music which is basically what i was expecting. midi quality music and with the usually gameish melodies. however, when i started listening to boss04 as its labeled in the maker, i went, hey this dosnt sound to bad!....if only it were played on a better sounding instrument then midi......................*tear*..................................wait a minute!? midis contain note data! my music programs are midi friendly as well...hmmmm. i think i have an idea. but damn its guna be hard to figure out all those notes.... wait, right, there midis!

so any ways after the smoke settled from the recent hot box and about 20 mins of messing with sounds and mastering i ended up with two satisfying versions of the boss04 theme! basically its the same notes as was in the midi file but played with a nice quality pipe organ! and after that i said hmm what if we added some more sounds to make it more orchestra and powerful.it is a boss battle after all. so i have a full orchestra version as well!

Now i dont think im personally going to use them in my games as i want all the music to be original, but i already made the songs just messing around and figured some people here might like to use them instead of the regular midi version. so here they are! now iv never hosted files before and never used media fire so i have no idea how long the links will last. but as of right now (june,18,2011) they should be working fine. If any one wants to reupload them somewhere better and post the links then all fine by me.

You may use the files as you wish, the only thing i ask is that credit be given and that you dont try to pass it off as your own. but you already knew that didnt you? wink.gif

here are the two versions:

Organ only version: http://www.mediafire.com/?jq5cjgnr57v2514

Full orch version: http://www.mediafire.com/?6ocxxsw4f9ogps4

In case any one is wondering i solely use reason 4.0 for all my music endeavors. And have a youtube channel at www.youtube.com/leonardozuccarelli (No the music there may not be used, but feel more then free to enjoy it tongue.gif )

P.S. If there are any fellow reason users out their (advanced or begging) Im always glad to meet like minded people. I like to consider my self an intermediate composer/reason user. So i could always probably learn something from the pro's and help out any new comers. So if your intrested in say reason or composing in general or maybe would like to do a coop project (rpg xp related or not, and i dont mean anything commercial at the moment, im speaking purly as a hobby and for lulz) please feel more then free to PM me or or put your comments down below. Enjoy!

That's pretty sweet. I love the fully mastered one.
But for some reason, it seems to end to short.
I have Reason, but I never use it (It for my sister's purpose)
Excellent job.

Thanks!

Also, i know what you mean. Basically what you can do if you want is (you can do this with ANY midi file) just create a new song in reason and then before you add anything go to file and import midi. you can export the rpg makers midi files by going to the materials button and then hitting export instead of import.

in reason after importing the midi file you will have all the notes and instruments laid out! its pretty kool, all you have to do is load samples or synths into the blank instruments, the notes are already there!

well with the boss04 midi i exported directly from the maker only had that melody as it was. after listening to it again i realized that the song has its initial intro and then loops it self after the intro. im not sure how midis are programed to work this way but its not the first time iv seen a midi behave like that. either way when you use it in the maker the melody will repeat once the file finishes playing. i dont know how to get the maker to understand to loop a sound file from specific start and end points (as it seems to do with the default midi files) But it any one wants i could always upload a longer version with the chorus repeated a couple of times.

Hmmm... I don't think you should call yourself a musician since you didn't create the music. Maybe a beginner, but that's about it since anyone with any software that can modify midi's and change which instrument is playing.
If you do, you can learn from the default midi and use them as a study tool to create your own "original" music.
If it's possible for a scripter to learn from scripts, or spriter to learn from sprites, then it's possible to learn from other midi.

If you don't feel you should go that far, then... "what ever floats your boat"

About mediafire, if you have an account they keep the file up if it's being downloaded. If not, they'll send you an e-mail saying they are going to remove your file in Bla Bla Bla days.
I should know, my files have been up for well over 7 months and no notice.

Short answer: Your files will stay up for a long time.

Not to be rude or any thing but i call my self a musician because thats what i am. Apart from creating music sometimes one will like to give an old melody a breath of fresh air. the title says remastered. i never said this was a remix or anything like that. simply a remastered version of the default. the youtube link at the bottom of my first post will direct you to some of my original work posted on youtube.

and the reason i stated i wont be using it in my game was specifically that. its not original, as i want my game to be. just thought id share a little something with the world...

I am totally sorry I didn't visit the youtube link before I posted that. I was being my stubborn self again.
I didn't have the original Boss4 with me so I didn't thought it through.
Please accept my deepest apology. I never meant to state my opinion like that.

Your original work is pretty amazing and pleasing to listen to. I'm pleased with the tone as well.

I'm sorry, I regret posting that.
