Full Version: Quick survey about snacks

Hi, I'm conducting a survey for my foods class. I need some people to answer a few questions for my survey.
If so, this will put me one step closer to getting 6 credits (instead of 5) so much will be appreciated.

Here are the questions I'm suppose to ask:


  1. Why do you have snacks?
  2. When do you snack?
  3. How often do you have snacks?
  4. What is your favourite snack?
  5. And why?


Please take some time to answer these questions for me.

I'll bite:

1. Several reasons, but the top three are because it satisfies my hunger, gets me through the day, and gives me something to look forward to.

2. Mainly in the morning between breakfast and lunch. I tend to take a very late lunch, though, usually about 2 pm.

3. Everyday, but I try to plan ahead for when I go to work. For example, I might pack a couple of string cheese, or a pudding snack, or a small bag of pretzels. In general, I calculate my calorie intake for the day, and I take some of the calories allowed for breakfast and/or lunch and apply that towards a snack.

4. Usually diet soda (coke or pepsi, makes no difference) and a small snickers bar or string cheese.

5. The caffeine gets me going without the added calories. The snickers or cheese satisfies a need for something savory, and they're filling.

Q1. Why do you have snacks?

A1. Mainly because it passes time when i'm bored or i need food to get me in the right moods.

Q2. When do you snack?

A2. Mostly between Lunchtime to around 10:00PMish, because those are the times i get peckish.

Q3. How often do you have snacks?

A3. As often as i can handle, mostly around 3-4 rounds a day, mainly consisting of crisps / bread and oreos

Q4. What is your favourite snack?

A4. Without doubt, Oreoes. The. Best.

Q5. And why?

A5. Beleive it or not, i used to hate them, but i was at a party once and they were giving away oreoes in massive amounts as prizes, funnily enough i won some, Went against my hatred to the things and before i knew it i was hooked happy.gif

I agree, Oreos are awesome. One of the few foods (albeit junk) where generic just does not match at all.

But in the event we don't like snacks, we can't answer any of those questions.

1. Why do you have snacks?
They're a quick energy boost, they help keep the metabolism even and they require less effort to prepare than a full meal does.
2. When do you snack?
Usually between lunch and dinner, and occasionally after dinner/before bed.
3. How often do you have snacks?
Once or twice a day.
4. What is your favourite snack?
Grapes w/ cheese cubes, apples and nuts (usually almonds), scoop of vanilla ice cream w/berries or chocolate chip oatmeal cookies
5. And why?
Sugar (natural) is a quick energy boost and protein for long-term energy.

Reading this over, I sound like a total health nut, but I'm not. I was on a restricted diet for a brief time and I have food allergies, so I got used to eating certain snack foods. happy.gif

1.Why do I have snacks?
Well for two reasons, One is that I'm bored and find myself simply eating because it's something to do. The other is because I'm putting off cooking real food but want something small to hold me over for a little while.
2.When?
Around bed time and between lunch and dinner I'd say.
3.How Often?
Not too real commonly but to be honest I don't normally have any food to snack on.
4. Favorite Snack?
I'd have to say grapes, or simple potato chips. Cookies also work but they can dangerous in that I can eat an entire package in one night.
5. Why?
Like I said it's mostly when I'm bored so I guess it's to have something to occupy me? It's also mostly to eat a little but not have a full meal at times like right before bed.

Why do you have snacks?
* Probably because it's a nice refresher fill-in between lunch and dinner, I guess.

When do you snack?
Usually twice during the day. One a few hours after lunch, like an apple or some grapes, or something; and the other is just a few hours before bed time -- but not too late! biggrin.gif

How often do you have snacks?
About twice a day.

What is your favourite snack?
Eyes Cream. biggrin.gif Triscuits aren't bad, either.

And why?
Because I usually crave something sweet and cold. ^^

Mmmmm...now I'm thinking of reaching for the triscuits bag.
