That's brilliant! Though I think the chariot is a bit small to require two horses. Make it larger! =D
Also, you should make the horses two different colours (just because they are both grey and a brown one would make it look less like a copy/paste). ^^
Thank you! Now for a bit of history, the Roman actually used smaller chariots then the Britons and Egyptians because they used theres for war while the Roman used them more for ceremonies and triumphs and of course the chariot races! And guess what guys, there will now be chariot races in Kingdom!!!! take a look With my new spriting skills I am making Kingdom one of the best RPG maker games ever!
And you make a good point about the horses color, I think when I make differnt team chariots I will make them differnt colors.

The chariot with the little guy in is great- I have never seen that anywhere before.
The horses though, in particular in the facing forward one with the chariot need a little more definition- as in the chariot and roman have sharp lines but the horses seem almost blurry - and maybe show the top of their tales. Could be that the grey is not the best colour choice- and maybe four horses rather than two.

Ah ty Kaz lol, yeah my art is the first of its kind! I know the horses are a bit off, I was surprized because they are the default horses, I am going to go over them again, just wanted to show a teaser and put the other spriters to shame, especially the one that just lurks on this site and doesnt contribute

Well its not my game, its the teams, I don't like modern settings myself , but its good to try out new things to improve my skills, and she turned out good, I am trying to really get better at char sprites since thats what everyone seems to want. But my real passion and skill is doing sprites that no one has ever seen and done before like my Roman sprites.

Well it took about 120 days for me to get this good lol, and im still trying to get better, believe me I thought the same thing when I first tried to do a pixel char, but then I went to art school and really learned a lot and am still learning so that helps. I am also a traditional artist, I have my own graphic novel of my game Kingdom that I made, But im still trying to improve on myself in all areas and would say I dont really know what my main strength is now.

Actually, 120 days is a short time compared to what I did. I tried about one-two weeks and continue it another year but no results, no improvement lol. Art school? Like a university or studying in a studio from a certain teacher? What about 'no main strength' but good in all-round arts? I guess that works better than just being such a prodigy in one aspect of arts ^^
Aww, I always want to have some companies but it's hard since I don't relle have many people irl that could help. What you told really fuels me up! Wheee, I hope we both can improve and probably joining the NIS or Square studio lol~ Dreaming doesn't hurt, does it? ^^

Well I actually went to school at Fullsail University for game art. I learned a lot there. I would rather have just 1 strength but oh well, i am happy to be good a a few things and am about to get great at more. I like having the freedom I have now, working for a big company is great but trust me they take away your freedom. Being able to choose what game companies I want to work for now is much better for me and it feels good to know I have the skills they need.

Is it like a side-course where we can do in a free time or you take it as a replacement for your actual college time? And umm...I desire more of a game-design school than an art institute, but I'll be more than glad enough if I could study there in the art school. It's always good to stay positive and be glad of our abilities. I can't tell about major studios, but working with pros and 'beyond Godlike' artists makes me like..you know, is that a better proud than that as an artist? ^^

I believe it is very prestigious to be in a position where you are working alongside an experienced professional game artist, but I always think that dreaming and aspiring to become better than your favourite artist idol is more prestigious (mostly if you actually develop your own style of art that is as recognisable and popular as a major gaming artist; who knows, maybe one day you'll be equals). Never doubt your dreams, press on until you meet them.

They look great, but I'd have to comment that the closed scroll should have two sides to it if the opened scroll does. D= You can have a single-side scroll (if that makes sense) if it only opens down and the paper doesn't have a proper end on it (see images below if you don't know what I mean). =]

Thank you Yeah she looks great, and it means a lot to me being able to do all the sprite work for my game, sprite work costs so much money so im glad ive gotten good enough to do it myself, even better then most since other sprites wont take a job to do chariots lol. Im pouring more time into more roman char and backgrounds so it will really pay off even more. Kingdom was already one of the best looking games for XP since it actually had a time period theme to it and didnt just use a bunch of medieval sprites so im hoping to do even more with Kingdom 2 in Ace, but im still learning it.

I have already done that! I changed the flags to roman and added rome symbols to the buildings, I have done edits and addons for it but as far as doing a complete tileset I think thats out of the question, the compile and instal of XP has just made it not work it really, I think ill try my luck with ACE now. But its cool that I can use all my roman stuff on Ace to.

Sep 22 2012, 11:20 PM
Ok as most of you know I usually work with XP but now im moving on to Ace after a recent disappointment with the XP system. So this is my VERY first flag edit, the first of many to add some MUCH needed variety to the RTP cause I find ACE lacking in this area, the RTP is just way to bright for my taste but anyways here we go, I will be adding more from time to time to help you guys out and show off my skills.
Once again in my never ending quest to make the world roman I have done my first ACE world set building, the Arena!!!
(Update) Ok so I got really mad at this guy today, he was looking for some sprite work so I looked on his crapy forum, but apparently didn't know what he was doing or how the world works, most of all my time is important. However it's a good thing that most ppl think my work is awesome and totally kick ass, so being pissed off helps me do great sprite work, so here is a world map Roman senate house! This is just a sample, the one I use in my game will be shaded

Can't sleep, again, so I decided to make a series of murals/plaques for Kingdom to be put on the castle/city walls and maybe even inside. ACE is lacking in fine art so I thought id fix that.
Not sure what country I want to make it for though, could be for Egypt or Rome. But yea just thought show off my stuff. Think im still gonna shade it a bit more, maybe use it as a template for others. Not for use without my permission.

Flags are really fun to do cause they show off my skills but I think doing icons is the most fun. Ok I have been wanting to experiment with making new sprites/pix work but not sure where to start, so I looked on the map sheet until I got some ideas, im not really sure how to describe this, its like a old washing station for public use...I think, im not sure if I like it or hate it or really how it would even be used in game but I am wanting to branch out the kinda stuff I do. So tell me what you guys think.

I like the fountain thing, but it reminds me of a bird bath more than a public washing area. To make it a better bird bath, you could add little statues spitting water out. =D (Bird baths are cool to look at.) ^^
The table looks great, with the colours and all, though I think the tabletop is a bit long (up and down) for the length of the legs. I could be wrong because the perspective makes more sense against a background where other, similarly designed, furniture is.
