I started working on some RPG tiles and wanted to turn them in to a small side project. ( Below is testing them together along with a test sprite )

Being more intereseted in Action RPG's I gave IG maker a look. However before I start to learn it I just want to see what its capable of. The samples games are fine and everything but I have yet to find someone's finished product ( Or a really nice sample )

If any one knows of a good example, I would love to see it! Im pretty green to all of this still but Pixel art and all of its uses are like a secret art fetish a times XD

It's going to be hard. IG Maker is not a popular game-making system, due to it's high price, huge filesize, and the capabilities are almost eqivalent to Game Maker, which is much cheaper and has a scripting function. It has a great animation editor, though, but that's all it has going for it.

Anyway, some samples of the Japanese version can be found here: http://tkool.jp/products/act/download.html

Thank you for getting back to me so soon!

Now this game maker -- I keep seeing references too it pop up when ever IG maker gets mentioned. perhaps I'll look in to that a bit ( and pray it dose not require too much scripting lol )

IG Makers capabilities aren't even on the same playing feild as Game Maker that's just a proven fact, I wouldn't develop a A-RPG with IGMaker simply because you're not going to get what you want. I'd recommend RMXP/VX over it simply because of ruby and you can do the same and far far better and the game play would also be better(depending on your programming abilities)

Now Game Maker is probably the better choice for an a-rpg simply because getting the battle system done can take 5-10 hrs to code(this is just seiken densetsu 3) not the same as if you're having a fast paced button config oriented action combat system as having special movements for stepping back, dodging, using speed to evade, teleport evade etc. This would take a couple days to a couple weeks/months all depending on the complexity of your battle blueprints.

IG Maker isn't a very good product it was more or less an experiment and boy did it fail..

I know this topic is old, if you wanna make a game and you have to script why not learn something like c# and just use unity3d or even torque game builder & torque script
