After the explosion that ocurred at the Spencer Mansion, we thought the zombie menace had reached the end.
But the Spencer Mansion wasn't the only research lab built on the nearby outskirt of Raccoon City.... You wake up alone in the middle of the forest, without memory, and the only thing that you can see in the darkness is an old mansion in ruins......
This fangame happens parallel to the events occurred on Resident Evil 1. Ready to play a new sequel of the remembered saga????? I gotta say this is amazing really, but theres some things you should fix. for starters the bikes in the last screenshot? they are huge and you need to fix a bit on that and the next thing is the zombies are not so.. uuhm zombieish? lol idk but they need to be maybe more undead like not recolored or humanlike. but other then that i say i hope this game turns out well and becomes popular.

Thanks : 3 About the bikes, i dont think i can fix it now (it was a Sketchup model; i didnt saved XD)
About th zombies, i am using recolored humans until i get a spriter, i really need a spriter to make the zombies ( i am pretty bad at spriting xP)

Th next demo release date is unknow, but i gonna release at least one before the end of may ;D

I can be a sprite, but my spriting is not good. but good enough to make a more realistic zombie thne recolored humans. i dont need pay and i only require credits and team position and any time i can do this on free-time (so not rushing or quickly making something) and to sprite it i would need a basic human (the zombie type you use) style sheet.. sound good?

You really need to test your game. I went in the house without remembering to pick up gun from dead body and now I can't go back outside to get it, how incredibly annoying, just remember stuff like this puts people off trying whole game because they give up early. One reason why I say this is that you are already on version 4.0 and this hasn't been resolved which means you didn't take note of it. Also, you might want to make the bullet projectiles at least if not around the same level as your gun. One thing I don't like about your game is the fact that you have no reason why you can't go back into wilderness. It would be better if there was a real reason like there were too many zombies out there to handle or that you eventually get to a river that's not passable. Your game seems promising however there seems to be a lot of issues...
I didn't really get far in your game. I might come back to it again. I didn't feel as if I have a reason to play it as the plot lacks direction from the start and there were some mapping errors. Also, killing a zombie is too difficult for me in your game and puts me a noob off. However some of the survival horror pro's may like this difficulty...

I just tried out your game again, and I have to say that I've always been a huge RE fan so I completely back the completion of this project. However, there are some things you may want to look into adjusting.. The game is really cool but those zombies are incredably hard to kill! And when you are checking an item you may want an event to freeze the movement of the zombies. I tried picking up that key in the bathroom and I got mobbed while the text was on the screen. Other than those small things I think the game is awsome! You definately captured the old RE feel.

Thanks for the feedback :3 I have been working on the game and i am trying to fix every bug i found.
About of freeze the zombies, i gonna see i can do, i gonna try using labels and conditional branchs, tomnorrow i gonna post here if it worked or not XD (i am not on my pc on this moment)
ABout the intro, i added an intro cutscene, now you are gonna pick the weapon your want or not XDDD (i am searching for voice actors, this is gonna be like a clasical resident evil, voice acting on important scenes with the 2 black bars in the screen XDDDDD)

A tip? You could use a single switch (let's call it "freeze enemy") to solve the enemy movement durring texts issue. Any time there is an opportunity to have text while there are enemies in a room you could activate this switch at the begining of the event and then turn it off again after the text. Just toss a new page with no movement pattern on the enemy event that will activate only when the switch is on. That's the way I do in my game, anyway. But then there is also the issue of being able to fire your weapon durring a text sequence as well. You may want a way to nullify that possibility as well..

Justabox that's a very good point, simple method to fix that. Yes the game does capture the old style RE feel in terms of how its setup, there are just a lot of simple problems that need fixing to make the game cleaner and more enjoyable. I'm going to give it another run again, its HARD, you shouldn't make it so hard at the beginning so you can give players time to adjust to the game. Mapping is relatively quite decent apart from a few map errors with trees on opening map and the fact that the toilet is so damn large with too much empty space. Think realistically because all the old style RE games had a sense of realism in it especially in terms of the size of the buildings and structures...
I just want to say as a RE fan, voice acting would be beneficial but only at important sequences because it is a 2D game. I'm not saying don't add voice acting to all your scenes but I feel it's irrelevant to the overall quality of the game. I would say the intro scene would be good for voice acting implemented...

Cool, I like what you did in that screenshot. Makes it more realistic why you can't go back outside or if you do then the zombie dogs get you. You've used lighting effects very well in your game and I'm curious what scripts you are using to implement them. I just wanted to say that I finally completed your demo the third time lucky, I realized that you had to simply evade the zombies and retreat behind the bar to easily dispatch them.
Anyways I'm annoyed to say I found more bugs with your game. When you shoot at the staircase, if you are close enough it warps you to the following map upstairs or downstairs. This is weird...
Anyways one major problem with your game you might want to consider is the fact that the zombie sprites look completely different to your character sprites in terms of style. A lot of work needs to be done on this game but it has high potential. You will definately attract survival horror fans to play it.

Fantastic! I love it. A good way to establish the game as it provides the player with a reason why they can't go back outside. Cool, I didn't know videos were now working on RRR.

Very cool! I like the new intro alot! It's too bad you weren't able to fix the shooting while message windows are open thing. But that's not really a big deal at all. The main thing is you fixed the zombie movement, that is awsome!

thanks ^^ it was not that hard to do, i just created a new blank page with a must-be-activated siwtch (LOL, super bad english XD) and then i activated that switch on the beginning of the message, at the end i just turn off it
I cant do the same for the bullets, because is a common evvent.

I was thinking about the way you were saying you couldn't do the same with the bullets because of them being common events. What if you but a condition branch at the begining of the bullet common even that says "If Switch is ON, Exit Event Processing"? I think that will work.

Hum.... the problem i have is a little bit hard to explain XDDD well, the common event have, at least 10 Conditional branchs, because it checks
How many bullets you have Damage of Bullets if it hits If you have another cartridge Etc XP

in other news, the demo is comming ;D (well, is a big actualization in terms of bugfixing, in terms of gameplay,. i only added 8 more rooms and a new boss (with a dead end, the end of the demo will be... well, i dont want to spil anything, just wait for it, but is not part of the real game,l is just a justification to end the demo XD))

Some more work I see. Looks pretty cool. Lighting effects for your game is also what makes this project quite unique. The story line seems to be opening up a little bit more. But whats weird is that he's wearing the same clothes. Also I hope you can explain how the protagonist ends up at the start of the game later on though. Your latest demo still doesn't give you much to do though. It's looks like it was more bug fixes to be honest but nothing wrong with that because its a demo.
Been doing more work on Project Viral 2 recently myself. I'm going to release a demo soon. How long do you think it will take you to complete RE? And how much progress so far?

Oh sweet . Bugs are what put players off the most. Kudos and the game seems to be getting more interesting because the story is relatively mysterious. Oh yeah and the menu is looking much better but I think it would be good if the blue graphics were more edged at the left and right side so it would look like an 10 block inventory if that makes sense.

Does your game eventually lead into a city? It's because one of your screenshots shows a city and in the titlescreen there is an animation screen of a city infected with zombies so I'm kind of curious...

tes and No. the city is part of the "Mercenaries" Mode of the game, "Last Hope", here do you play as Vincent Brother, Sebastian and his quest to find his lost daughter in the middkle of racoon city catastrophe.

The bad english is what killed the game more then anything with terrible english you cant even figure out what the char are feeling or trying to say, your book script was stone age, I cut it out and fixed it to work as a stand alone script.
I told you all these things before and offered to help. The char sprites could use some love to. This is why I made my RE fan game cause there is no reason for this mess to have the name Resident evil, its almost as bad as those Final Fantasy knock offs I used to see around here. Take another look at your "game" dude and make a big boy choice to ask for some help cause this is not even playable.

Offer your feedback in what you liked or disliked, and what he can do to improve, but leave the insults out. Calling his game a mess unworthy of the name Resident Evil doesn't help in any way. If you feel it should have a different title, explain why.
However, seeing as the developer has not been around in almost a year to fix this game, and the download doesn't work, I'm going to go ahead and lock this. Felipe, please PM me if you want to have this re-opened so we can discuss.
