Resource City and Gallery Update
QUOTE (Holder)
Well what can I say? It's been a long time planning and times when we thought it'd never happen, but Resource City has opened it's doors and work has begun. We're looking for members to join the Resource Staff and work within a growing team, for more information and see what we're looking for right now just click the userbar below:

First of a monthly report on our ever growing Gallery section here at R3, we've seen a load of new submissions over time and I'm proud to say we've now got almost 9,000 images in there, the revamp is complete and now all that's left to do is get those resources flooding in. Here's a run-down of what's been recently added to the Gallery:

RPG Maker VX Resources

-The Really BIG Iconset has been added along with three Sheets in the Monsters and Animals section. Thanks to RPGMakerVX52 for these.

-Looking for a Computer/Laptop Character object? Thanks to jomarcenter your search ends here with this really nice submission.

-Prelude Dikter has added a Scary Windowskin for all those late night Rpg Makers.

-rgangsta has created a nice collection of 8 Game Over images, a character set and a face set, thanks for the submissions.

RPG Maker XP Resources

-Ovan35 has edited some of the RTP and created some really useful objects, check them out in the Characters > Objects section.

-Ragnarok Window Skin has been uploaded by hakker2k2

General Game Engines and VX scripts
QUOTE (Kread-EX)
Does anybody remember the RPG Maker PY project? Sadly, Ryex abandoned it, but it's to work on a bigger project in association with Chaos Project. Needless to say, we wish them the best of luck.
On other news, two new game engines have been revealed this time. The first isn't technically an engine, but a HTML and JavaScript framework to create a browser based RPG: RPG JS. The base structure is similar to RPG Maker XP and XP maps can be converted to JS maps. While RPG JS is originally programmed as a hobby, you might find a use for it, so check it out!
The second engine is way more advanced with 3D capabilities, and is simply named Maker3D. Various features such as easy level and character modelling and support for popular object/texture formats. Scripting is handled with BASIC language. Interesting overall, but lacks basic RPG functions such as experience curves (the user need to code these themselves) and while it wouldn't be a problem for a free engine, this one is commercial.

And as always, new updates and bug fixes for Visual RPG Studio.

Now, concerning RPG Maker VX, Enterbrain announced an alternate RTP set for May. It is all Japanese themed and will be sold ¥3150. We don't know yet if they will be available outside Japan for now, though.
And for your testing needs, the last version of OriginalWij's Debug Tools is available. Not flashy, the player won't see it, but precious to the developer

Don't forget to also check the Sphere Grid system, brought to us by paulinho_chicha. This script mimics the power-up and skill learning system found in the game Final Fantasy X, straying from the concept of level up.
The Equip Improve Engine by GB Productions is a YEM add-on script which, like the name implies, give a whole lot of customization options for your equipment.
Lastly, you might be interested by a little patch adding different skill costs to Melody, courtesy of XIV.

Creative Commons
QUOTE (Harryb412)
First off we'll look at Theory and Design to see St3rnb0rn asking some questions about game music, is it important to you? How do you go about getting music for your game?
Next up: sexuality, specifically that of your characters. Do you mind if you play a game with gay characters? How would react? Do you think it could make the game more enjoyable?

Now moving onto Games Under Construction, we have Gore: Laisville Horror a good looking zombie survival game which should at least interest any horror fan.

In Long Demos we have March's Project of the Month winner Twice Upon a Hero I went and downloaded this game and I say it's definitely worth checking out.

And in Complete Games we have another Project of the Month winner Vacant Sky and judging by its huge success it is really worth the download.

Event Emporium
QUOTE (RzrBladeMontage)
Not too much is going on in the Event Emporium. We have a few new submissions, one of them is a remade version of the Digimon Masters Online (a game only available in korea) egg hatching system - while the actual topic hasn't been posting in since March, the system itself is very good. The Angel of Death also has an event request shop, where you can either request some type of event system or join his team of eventers. Also, make sure to check out the ever-growing Event Submission List, filled with tons of different systems from monetary skills such as fishing to battle systems.

Staff Wanted & Competition
QUOTE (XMO)
- Looking for Review Staff! -
For a limited time, I am looking to personally work with members that are interested in becoming part of the Review Staff team of RRR.
The job is fun (play games and write reviews about them) but I'm looking for dedicated members; people who are willing and able to spend the time necessary to play through games (submitted to RRR) and review them.
Click here to PM X-M-O and ask about requirements and available positions, etc.
(We're not looking for temporary recruits, this is for members who want to join and stay on the team.)

- Get Your Game On! -
With the most recent Game-Making Competition!
See this topic for information regarding registration (or becoming a competition judge).

Also, be sure to advertise the Game-Making Competition (using the banner below) in your signature.
Or just create a small link if you've no room left in your signature, lol.

& Role Playing
QUOTE ( Omnial and Niscp )
Our RP section here at RRR is slowly starting to pick up its pace again, As the creative minds get rolling with new roleplay ideas, and interesting characters to live in these vast worlds. We advise that you come stop by some time, look into our RP Archive vault for a good read or watch as the current ones evolve. If this isn't enough, you can easily make your own roleplay, or join an on going one. We currently have a few different styles of roleplays going, so you are sure to find one that suits you biggrin.gif

The Watchers

An experiment on a new style of RP which is divided between its comic and its text version. Also unlike others, this RP has one single main character, whose actions and behaviours are dictated by compromise between the players. The RP has just started and pages are updated weekly. Currently, two siblings ended up stuck inside a vault after an earthquake. The sister came into contact with an old ancient looking necklace and has just gotten herself involved in a battle which will decide the fate of the whole planet.

Exaltica: Eden Awakening Saga

A space-opera themed, character driven roleplay by Sailerius. After waking up in a mysterious ship, the group found themselves surrounded by mysteries (And corpses). They left the ship as soon as they could, only to once again get themselves involved in another conflict just as they thought that they would finally be safe. The RP has a vast and complex lore and a great cast of memorable characters, that alongside with the constant conflicts which have been sure to keep all of the characters on their toes, this RP is bound to be a memorable one.

Yokai Academy

A Rosario + Vampire based roleplay, taking place in an alternate universe from the "main story". With a school hidden fom the rest of the human world, demons and monsters fill its halls, learning how to live in a humans society. However, things will never go as planned with such a "unique" group of students and the odd human who accidentally attends. This RP is sure to get wild and random.

Forsaken Birth

The Cross-over RP of RRR. With characters from previous roleplays all being thrown into some twisted world with no clue how they got there, the mismatch crew searches for answers. Will they find the truth that they seek? or will the truth only breed despair?

That is all for this time!
