As described in the description, yes, I have thought of making something like Dissidia Final Fantasy using RMXP, with XAS battle system. I will try to keep with the original systemas much as I could, but you know, it is impossible to:

1. 3D graphics
2. Have bravery and HP attacks system
3. Original Final Fantasy characters
4. Make Omega maps

The storyline, I would not stick to Cosmos and Chaos. I think is quite boring if we were to fight again and again because of two gods. Thus, I will change the storyline to:

Some(haven't decided)warriors were survivors of the Armagaddon on The Planet, sepereated far away from each other. The warriors received their mission from a deity that they had to above the core of the Planet and start building lives as there holds the remaining resources on The Planet. However, some(the same as the above warriors) villians, who were brainwashed by Lucifer, the king of Hell, are determined to destory all lives on The Planet.

The warriors were named as Seekers while the villians were known as Lucifians.

The Characters, very interesting, is RMXP's default characters.(Arshes, Basil.....)they will be the Seekers and the Lucifians....not sure yet, but I will plan further.

Please tell me what you think! And also, this project, I might be needed a lot of assistance. I want to create many skills so as to make it look as close to Dissidia as possible.

Thanks smile.gif

I don't know about 3D engine. Though there's a script of it, RPG Maker XP is definately suitable for 2D RPG games. About sprites, if you're going for 3D, you can try to find models from 3D Max or Maya related websites, or, no kidding, make them yourself by making a base polygon and find some palettes from sprite ripper websites such as spritedatabase.com.

2D sprites of Final Fantasy games, however, is overflooded in this board. You just have to search for them.

The story so far is okay for a fighting game. So keep it up, sir.

Good evening Mr/Mrs/Ms/Mdm manat31790

There is definitely a script called 'Mode 07' that enables 3D work in RPG Maker, but however I agree that it is more suitable for 2D work. I don't intend to make this game 3D, because I think XAS Hero Edition will be just right for 2D action advanture games.

Here is the website and a short introductory system for it: http://www.atelier-rgss.com/RGSS/Battle/XAS_00.html

The characters of the game is sticked to the original characters of the game, like Aluxes, Basil. However, I would require many sprites that can't be found when I download the XAS toolkit. They only gave me whatever for Aluxes and not the others. I might need to spend a lot of time there.

Thanks for thre reply! And I am not a sir yet smile.gif

2. Have bravery and HP attacks system

That's not only possible but easy. It'll just take some scripting.

Actually Mode7 isn't a 3D engine. All it does it trade height for depth, and you can't actually use any sort of 3D Models whatsoever. But still, it is a good thing to use and does make your game look 3D.

Make Bravery Attacks MP-Drain Skills and rename the MP stat to Bravery.
HP Attacks would have a 100% Current MP Cost and a Damage Formula equal to Current MP.
Or something.

BRV recovery from HP attack should be scripted.
For characters, if you don't want to use Final Fantasy ones, use the ones from popular RPG Maker XP games (advised characters from at least long demoes).

3D graphics are not really important, you know? In RPG Maker it's only an eye-candy, nothing else.

And could you clean up the story? I don't understand much. Maybe because English is not my primary language, although, I really know a lot (but not every word) in English.

Thanks for all of your kind replies smile.gif and apologies for the late reply.

I see that there is much discussion about the Bravery and HP system. Thanks for your tips, now I just need to.... learn a bit of scripting so that it can be made possible.

The story will be added on and polished; so don't worry. It will come up as some moral education like trust, courage, belief, and sort of things instead of only war and blood.

Errr....thank you. smile.gif

Microsoft Windows Fundamentals for Legacy PCs (WinFLP) is a Windows-based operating system designed for enterprise customers with legacy PCs who are not in a position to purchase new hardware. WinFLP provides the same security and manageability as Microsoft Windows XP SP2 while providing a smooth migration path to the latest hardware and operating system.

Windows Fundamentals for Legacy PCs (WinFLP) requires:

* A minimum of 611 MB of free hard drive space. Actual requirements will vary based on your system configuration and the applications and features you choose to install. Installing all optional components requires 1151 MB of disk space. These requirements are reported on the screen as you select options in the Setup wizard. Additional hard disk space may be required if you are installing over a network. Also, you should reserve additional space for future updates and service packs.
* A computer with 233 megahertz or higher processor clock speed (300 MHz is recommended); Intel Pentium/Celeron family, or AMD K6/Athlon/Duron family, or compatible processor is recommended.
* 64 MB of RAM. 256 MB of RAM is recommended.

I think that the first step to recruiting is gaining some rep. Contributing to story is one thing but the best way to get other people to join your game is to convince them that:
  • Your game is going to get complete. Im not saying that yours isn't, but this is a place where 90 percent of games get scrapped halfway through.
  • Bring a skill to the table. Story making just really isn't enough anymore. Show that you can script or pixel, that is a great way for people to see that you are going to get stuff done.

Anyways, good luck with your game making adventures and whatnot.
