I know there is a Mass Effect 3 topic down there but since it was focused on ME3 talk... I decided to make this topic to talk about general stuff in the Mass Effect series.

So to all Mass Effect fans out there. Lets discuss classes, decisions (in spoiler tags),play-throughs, etc. Anything related to Mass Effect.

My favorite class in Mass Effect is the Vanguard when I want to enjoy the game to the maximum. (Charge and shotgun ftw.)
I think this is the more challenging class to play as on hardcore and insane difficulties. Just give a try and you'll see what I mean, but once you get to know your way around it you might end up playing like this guy:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RqNXNjw_q3M

I use infiltrator with the widow if I want to finish the game fast (you can one shot almost everything on insane with all sniper upgrades)

That was on Xbox though, now I'm currently playing the ps3 version and the new game+ is glitched so I recommend that you start your insane playthrough from the beginning xD (No NG+)

I'm not sure about Vanguards, I made one but I only ended up getting Mordin and Garrus before finishing off my first save game, which was a Soldier.. they're fun to play (Insanity difficulty vs the Thresher Maw awww yeah!) I used a Revenant Machine Gun, and M90 Cain.. that gun kicks ass (why there is a mini nuke launcher I have no idea but it is still my favorite gun, since I don't have any bonus content)

Bioware said in their forums that if you get the bad ending your story won't continue in ME3 because the Bad Ending in ME2 is considered final. So you'll simply have to play a new game or don't be such a lazy ass and try to beat the game with no one dying.

Ok dude we are off topic now, lets keep talking about Mass Effect in the Mass Effect 3 topic xD

Edit2: Nevermind that would be kinda off topic too lets make a new topic xD

Yeah I heard about that, I finished but Tali died since I didn't do her loyalty mission properly. Forgot what I did exactly but she tells you not to do it and I did it coz I was aiming for a paragon in my first run, my 2nd playthrough is gonna be renegade and maybe I'll fit in some romancing but I'm not really into that kinda stuff.

Even if you know your way around the game I really recommend using a guide if you want every member of your crew to survive. Why? Because there are missions that are automatically activated after 3-5 missions (including assignments)

HUGE SPOILER ALERT DONT READ! I REPEAT DONT READ IF YOU DONT WANT YOUR EXPERIENCE RUINED

HUGE SPOILER!
Like after the reaper IFF is activated and the squad goes on a mission the normandy is attacked and the crew is kidnapped, if you want to save them all including Kelly Chambers you can't do any mission or assignment, if you do 3 or less half of them die including Kelly, and if you do 3 or more they all die except for the doctor. I read somewhere that kelly is needed to survived for the "no one left behind" achievement/trophy or for different stuff in ME3. I recommend not doing the IFF mission until you get everyone to be loyal.

I have 4 serious saves ready for ME3, Paragon/MaleShep/Vanguard romanced with Tali, Renegade/FemShep/Infiltrator no romance, Paragon/MaleShep/Adept romanced with Miranda and Paragon/MaleShep/Sentinel no romance. , <-That's on ps3

Too Bad my xbox got the RRoD, I had like 8 saves there sad.gif

Why did you buy the same game for different consoles...?

Anyways, i have three saves, MaleShep/Infiltrator/Paragon/Tali, FemShep/Vanguard/Paragon/Garrus and MaleShep/Biotic/Renegade/NoOne. I don't get what's so hard about making it with the entire team alive, i managed to get it on my first try. All you have to do is avoid the story's advancement until you get everyone's loyalty, buy all of the ship upgrades and be reasonable when choosing what party members should do what. (A friendly hint about this part, DO NOT trust on Miranda for anything, seriously.)

The build i used and that seems to work out best is:

Tech Specialist: Either Tali, Legion or Kasumi (If you have her DLC)

Leader of the Secondary team: Garrus (Miranda works too, in theory, but yeah.)

Biotic Specialist: Samara/Morinth or Jack (If you got her prototype upgrade)

Crew Escort: Anyone loyal, although i'd suggest Mordin because he'd have trouble on the last part.

For you to take with you to the final battle: Again, anyone loyal.

To stay and hold the line: Okay, now this is the part where it gets a bit complicated to explain. Each character has a hidden status which is a sort of Hold The Line score, tough characters like Grunt or Zaeed have high scores while soft characters like Mordin and Jack have low scores. Having the loyalty of a character increases his score a lot, the higher the score the higher the character's chances to survive. NOTE: If a character with a low score and non loyalty (Mordin, by example.) is close to death, a character with a higher score (Loyal or not) may try to defend him (Let's suppose, Grunt.), in that case, Grunt would be the one to die, even if he's loyal to you and Mordin would survive. Of course, if you've done all of the loyalty missions, you don't really need to worry much about this part.

I guess that's about it, hope it helped for anyone who's having trouble getting the "No One Left Behind" Achievement.

Because I lost my 360 to the RRoD in September and then I got a ps3. Mass Effect 2 was probably one of my favorite games for the Xbox and I was really excited when it was released for ps3. Even if I had my xbox and the ps3 at the same time I would've bought the ps3 version of ME2 just because I want to.

You're right. But I always take Miranda to the final boss and she survives. Jack was the only person who died the first time I played the game on 360 because I lost her loyalty (not enough paragon points).

BTW I just romanced Tali because I'm hoping Bioware lets us see her face in ME3. IF that doesn't happen I'm going to be so pissed off xD

Ah I see, yeah Doctor Chakwas survived for me but Kelly died :/ and Tali.. but I didn't read a guide so I guess that's pretty good for my first play through. Next time I'll do what Tali tells me for her Loyalty mission. I took Miranda and Thane with me in the final robot fight.. all survived.

Just try to have enough paragons/renegade points for her loyalty mission so you can use those options to convince or intimidate the admirals.

SPOILER alert!
She won't be exiled from the flotilla and you'll get her loyalty anyway just make sure you talk to every admiral before going to her fathers ship.

Is there any news on what benefits we will have for importing save games with "No one left behind" achievement? I'm pretty sure there will be something but I wanna know what it is if anything. (Start off with lotsa credits and resources?)

I have no idea. I have to check Bioware's forums and see if there has been any news on Mass Effect 3 or the Mass Effect movie.
I just know that you'll probably have a bigger party or perhaps more romance options for Shepard.

Few games have made such an impact on me as the Mass Effect series. I have played pretty much every RPG I could get my grubby hands on, and for awhile I found Dragon Age: Origins to be the best (Okay, The Elder Scrolls is amazing too).

Everything feels so flawlessly implemented. The story is amazingly unique and no matter how many times I play it, I always seem to find new content or dialog somewhere.
As for characters, it's rare to see well written, lifelike people, especially when a new world or race is involved. So much work went into them to the point where it's actually believable. Although I really, really hated Ashley. Am I in some small minority here?
That's why.
She was really annoying, and killed Wrex before I could convince him to calm down. I never liked how often she complained, and there's just something about the character I can't exactly pinpoint that makes me wish I could have killed her off sooner.

Also; Garrus. Nuff said. Okay, Garrus and Tali. I love them, and I'm glad the two made a return in ME2. I was disappointed in Kaidan on Horizon; I really wanted to punch him one.

I could go on forever about all the things I love about this game, but I won't. Just...just go play it.
