What game(s) are you playing right now? Also... what is the reason that made you pick up the game? what do you think about it so far and why are you loving/hating it? What do you enjoy the most in the game?(Please try to avoid spoilers and one-line posts to keep it interesting.)
An optional question! (inspired by julianz27 topic "Your most anticipated games?") What game you missed that you really want to play so badly?
One of the games I'm trying to beat at the moment is Cross Edge. I was looking at IGN.com and saw they gave it very low ratings, so I was like: "They also gave White Knight Chronicles a crappy rating and I enjoy it a lot... Why not give it a try?" So I decided to go Gamestop since I was looking to get rid of CoD Black Ops (but I found a friend on the way and he gave me 40 dollars for it lol.) I bought a copy of Cross Edge and Sacred 2 for ps3 (shut up! I can't play in my pc) I'm enjoying the game so far, old school graphics, great battle system, great music, it's not perfect but it was worth the 25 dollars IMO. Maybe because I'm a hardcore RPG fan? Dunno. I'm not so far in the story but I can tell you that it's not that great and it looks kinda cliche, not a 100% sure, I'm not far like I said before.
Nowa little talk about Sacred 2, I just like the game because I'm playing with two other hardcore rpg fans and a beginner rpg player who dies a lot. That's the only reason that keeps me from leaving the game in the case for months, the game is fun, but only if you really like rpgs and you have friends to mess around the huge world the game has to offer. If you play alone I really don't recommend this game. Perhaps you'll enjoy it and prove me wrong, but my opinion won't change just like I can't change yours xD.
Edit: Feel free to add me as friend on PSN. Just don't spam me with COD:Black Ops invites lol.

I am playing the new Tactics Ogre game. I picked it up because I played the original and enjoyed it, so thus I wanted to try the enhanced version. I'm enjoying the interface and the new features a lot. I love the new character building system and battling (now that people don't die instantly).

A game I play a lot is NBA 2k11. I'm a hardcore NBA fan and every time I watch a game on TV I have to play 2k11 when I'm done >.<. At the moment, I'm playing Dead Rising 1. I am on Case 7-2 (I think) and only 23 hours before the Helicopter comes :[
I just defeated the Convicts (finally, after like 7 attempts) with a Katana. I killed the two drivers and then the gunner. (A good thing I had that magazine that made your weapons last longer, or I'd be screwed) I got the Carjacker Achievement.
I just started Case 7-2, and the Maintanence Tunnel is crawling with zombies. I best bring lots of Orange Juice and my Mini Chainsaws. EDIT: Case 7-2 is really ticking me off. I got all the bombs, then that son of a bitch Carlito rams me with his car, and I die. I can't wait for Infinite Mode. Imma restart, and get a better level.
I am also playing Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare. I have to wait for the nun in Las Hermanas to find out more information on the zombie outbreak. EDIT: Stopped playing this. Got tired of waiting for her to hurry her nun ass up. In the mean time, I saved all the town from Zombie Hordes, until Blackwater came under attack again.
On the PSP, I was playing Dissidia 1, but since the UMD is literally messed up, the screen went blank after about 10 mins. Anyone know a game shop that repairs UMDs? (In England by the way, since I'm British)
I was also playing Final Fantasy XIII (completed the PS3 version, I'm playing the XBOX version). I got to Chapter 4, before I couldn't be bothered. On the PS3 version, I maxed out the crystarium. It took me a fair 125 hours. I wish there were more Final Fantasy fans in my school, can't really interact with my friends game-wise, because the only games they seem to play are Halo and CoD.
Games I want to play: Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy (Damn you, Frankieforever) Dissidia Duodecim Prologus Final Fantasy (Too bad I can't get yen, heeelp!) Final Fantasy X Final Fantasy XII

Just got done playing through an older Xbox Arcade game called Hydrophobia. Past the few technical issues, I found it to be a very enjoyable game. It didn't resort to duck and cover gunplay like a lot of 1st and 3rd person shooters these days. You get awarded for dispatching the enemy through clever ways and use of the available water (which sometimes is a lot). If you look up reviews for the game, you'll find it got fairly bad reviews. Most of them were before a patch fixed most of the complaints. The reviews are fairly correct though. It's not perfect, but if you'd like to experience something a little different using a clever mechanic with water, it's only $10 (800 Points) on Live. It's kinda short and the ending is very abrupt, but from what I've heard, it's supposed to be a trilogy. The game was released in September 2010 and I hope the sequel is released, I'd like to see how far they bring the water mechanics.

I've been learning to speedrun Mega Man Network Transmission for the Gamecube.
It's possibly one of the least popular Mega Man games (and that can be saying something), but it's not really because it's a bad one. It's the platformer spinoff of the Battle Network series - and the fandoms of the Battle Network games and the classic platformer games very rarely cross. So the game has sort of a bad reputation because enjoying this game requires you to have enjoyed both types of MM game and not many people really have [action platformer and strategic action RPG are a little different from one another!].
It's a pretty fantastic game though... but rather hair-tearing to speedrun. You still need all the skill that it takes to speedrun a normal Mega Man game. But you also need to do a crapload of route planning due to the huge number of upgrades and chips you could collect and use - and also accounting for the fact that when seriously speedrunning you won't be getting a lot of them, and that with so many upgrades available, the game is designed expecting players to get them, not skip them. So you're very quickly looking at dying if you screw up even a little. Oh, and manipulating your luck for chip draws.
My most recent attempt, which is still fairly sloppy, puts me at 9/15 stages complete (Along with my only planned 'detours' taken care of) after only 58 minutes - and I'm pretty sure that if cleaned up significantly I could be at the 50 minute mark or better by this point.
The main thing getting in my way right now is that there's only me and one other person who are even really playing this game (And we're both trying to speedrun it). And while that would be enough normally, there aren't even any signs of anyone else having tried this before, so... yeah. There's no real well of knowledge to draw from or anything.

You are even more my buddy now.
I actually completed my first practice set of segments this morning. They were sloppy - there was probably a total of about 10 deaths (Two of which were deliberate - one at Power Plant 2 to recharge MP, and same with dying right at the final boss to do the same), tons of little mistakes, and plenty of sub-optimized chip draws.
Even still, my final time was 1 hour 41 minutes (The final blow on the Life Virus was done at 1 hour 37 minutes, but input doesn't end until after the credits). In theory, this game should be doable in sub-1:30. Still got lots of work and restarting ahead of me, especially if I plan to do it single-segment like I eventually intend! But, there's surprisingly little chip draws that are necessary... especially near the end, and I have definitely learned to manipulate them.
Now I definitely have to purchase some recording equipment with my tax return...

Yesterday, I rooted through my cupboard, and found my PS1 (Hallejuah!) and GTA1. God damn, the graphics were different from the recent games, it had an overhead view camera, which really confused me, since I was used to the camera in GTA4, when I play it.

I just finished playing the gameHeavy Rain for Playstation III.
One of the most revolutionary games I have seen in a while. I felt like playing a movie and enjoying it, the story is divided in four different characters. Each one of them has some connection with each other and as the story goes on you get to join them.
I read some reviews online about it and wondered if it was as good as it seems to be. When the monthly magazine Game Informer came to my door rating it as the best game of the year I knew what to do – buy it!
The game doesn’t have a lot of gameplay time, it is like I said before – a movie. Since I was giving it a chance and not trying to compare it with other games I realize that after the boring beginning there was no chance I would get out of the couch before beating the game. And trust me when I say that, the game is pretty addicting.
One of the things that make the game unique is that your choices affect if the characters die or not. There is no ‘game over’ but by letting them die you miss a lot of different plots and other endings. Sometimes is good to play other style of games, they can inspire you with your rpg games and make you stay addict for hours.
-------
The game that I miss the most playing is Pokemon. Don’t get me wrong when I say this. I grow up playing the series classics, Yellow, Green, and even the Sapphire versions and because of these series, I caught myself liking rpg games.
The game I want play badly is Diablo III. After watching some videos and going to the official website I feel like – I need it!

Ragnarok Online, Anarchy Online, my parents played Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising beta last year but they said it's really buggy and the server crashes often (every half hour - an hour), Rappelz (very time consuming, took me literally a whole year to grind for this pet card, was well worth it though).
Guild Wars is a good game, you pay for the campaign thing you want and you add they key to your account and then theres no more fees unless you choose to buy another one, (I started with Nightfall, but for some reason I couldn't add Factions when I bought it so I had to use my mums plaync account to get it, then my Nightfall got hacked so I was lucky, I now have Factions, Nightfall, Prophecies and EotN the expansion)
Final Fantasy XIV is really good but you also need a really good machine if you want to even be able to run it (my PC is good enough to play ME2 and Civ 5 on max settings 1920x1480 resolution with 0 lag, yet FF14 lags a bit just on medium-high settings). Oh and FFXIV is quite expensive, my parents made it extra expensive by buying the collectors edition for $100, when EB Games had it on sale for $59. There are extra service fees, like having to pay for character slots (when I opened the box the key they give you is a "trial" key, which means any character slots you buy are free, so it may say that it's going to char 2.99 euros to your Credit card, it will say total: 0.00 euros) the character slots are payed for every month automatically, until you cancel them, which means you'll be unable to use whatever character was in that slot until you pay for it again, (I got 4 or 5 out of a maximum of 10-12 or something like that).
Another one I can think of is Atlantica Online, a really good game, it's kinda like Final Fantasy, you make you character, pick a class etc but you hire Mercernaries to fight with you.. I'm not sure how to explain it, last time I played it was over 2 years ago and they had recently added a new class, Chainsword (Sawrd xD) (The classes names are the weapons, I had a Cannon for my main). Battle is like Final Fantasy, you choose what you want you're character and mercs to do and then it's the enemies turn etc.. you should watch videos on youtube, that'd explain it better, there are quests to get advanced mercernaries, or you can buy the merc scrolls from other players in the auction house.. it is easier to do that but money is hard to get in Atlantica (or atleast it was when I played it) upgrading equipment is very easy and even just +3 stuff has a glow, such as a +9 shield my dad's Swordsman main char had a red glow, my char's cannon had a gold or blue coloured glow. It's good I recommend you play it atleast once.
Ah, Atlantica is an enormous game now, when I tried to patch it last year, the patch was 10gb.. lmao!

I am also play Phantasy Star Collection for Game Boy Advance. Its a great game for those who like barebones rpgs like the original dragon quest games or final fantasies. Its graphics are nostalgic to older animes and has a great ambiance.
Ones I would like to play are Mobile Suit Gundam Federation VS Zeon for playstation 2. It sounds like one of the best of the ps2 Gundam games and from what i have read online has a great cast of playable characters.

So instead, I decided to pick up Pokemon Black. Its very fun and I have never said that to a new Pokemon game before. The start of the game is different, how you get your Pokemon, the Professor and the person who makes the PC for you as well. The most noticeable change is, what I believe, the darker themed story it now has.

Surprisingly, I'm not playing much right now. I think it mostly has to do with the fact that my 360 was in and out of the shop and I'm only just now picking up financially, so I haven't bought any new 360 titles this year. I HAVE picked up the XBLA version of Torchlight and beat the shit out of it, which is strange only because I own it for Steam as well. No, I didn't do it strictly for achievements (though those are nice too). See, for some reason, my PC version wouldn't let me get past floor 28. I flipped a lever, fought a boss and lost, warped back to town, suited up, tried to go back...and the levers were already depressed, but the door wouldn't open to reveal the boss again.
I thought, well, if I'm going to start over again anyway, might as well buy the game again to support the super awesome dev team AND get some achievements out of it. Another game I can't seem to put down is Fable 3. I have both a good and evil character and surprisingly, I think the evil character is going to be claimed a true hero because I already have tens of millions of dollars and I'm not even to the queen part yet. I was also playing Metal Saga a bit and I might pick that back up. It's a fun little post-apocalyptic, humorous, open-ended RPG that you can grind in.
It's also a bit generic and the loading algorithms are whacked, but overall it's pretty fun. There are a number of games that I miss playing, but I always have access to them. Problem there is it's easy for me to get sidetracked, so I almost inevitably ignore my desire to play them because I know I'll invest some ridiculous amount of time in playing them, then want to play something else, then something else, and never end up getting anything finished. I really need to start finishing major titles so I can sell them, as I got my Amazon account up again.

I decided on a whim that I'd start marathoning the entire Mega Man Battle Network/Star Force series. Unfortunately this means starting with Battle Network 1.
My god this is a terrible game. It might have been the launching point of one of my favourite game series, but holy hell it's just BAD, especially with my memories of the others. The plot and writing is terrible even by BN standards, the area design is incredibly bland and mazelike without ANY landmarks (14 areas of the internet or so and not one of them is visibly discernible from another), and the chips are useless and really, really slow.

Shenmue's pretty fun. It's one of the few games I wondered why they never ported for XBLA. It's a bit dated now and kinda cheezy at times, but the overall concept is an awesome one. Unfortunately, much like the second one, it ends on a terrible cliffhanger, yet another reason so many fans want to see the series DONE. The second one would be better, except you have to do jobs and they aren't much fun. Everything else about it's pretty cool, though. As far as the main highlights of both, well...
In the first one, you get into a gang fight where you have to beat down about 70 people.
In the second one, you have something similar, except you get your ass kicked and left within gang territory for dead...then have to fight your way out. Even better, as you do, you get access to fight clubs.
Very interesting stuff, but it didn't translate as well as I'd have liked to the Yakuza series.
