I like your monster shit! Resembles a Luminoth (if you know what that is; from a recent Metroid game).
I want hair like that! (Last image.) :3 You're doing much better with the hair, by the way. Each time it's better and more detailed. =D

I like the alien-monster thing. It reminds me of something Haiyou Miyazaki-ish.

I can't believe you typed Hayao Miyazaki's name wrong. Blasphemy! D=<
Anyway, that guy is a legend, and for a comparison like that to be made... bacon is certainly doing an excellent job, yes? One day bacon will be just as legendary, and we'll all be like "please give me your autograph" and he'll be all like "no thanks, I'd rather keep it and sell it on eBay". XD

Spelling it phonetically. I love his movies, I watched "my neighbor totoro" religiously as a kid...
The monster guy looks like these things, according to me:

I love the octopus one! Especially with it having the ship already pulled under with it~ The painting is amazing too! If that's your entry, it looks like it could be a winner! As for the creature, I have to idea what it is, but it is cute in an odd way It could definitely to some "nom-noms". Are you going to colour it? The detailing on the lady with the headress is nice too, making it stand out~

so many comments x: (thanks guys you made my day!)
XMO: Thanks. Yeah that totally looks like a Luminoth! Also yeah that hair took a little while and i was really patient with it so hopefully its swell.
Eden: Thanks. He is a huge inspiration!
Nanashi: I started to color the creature but then the computer crashed and i lost all of my work so :c The contest entry was from a while back! Thanks for your critique and stuff!
I colored some of it

I get a french vibe from the sketches. Expressions on the faces are great. Newest is lovely! I simply love the symbols on the ribbons(?)

I always love the way you do the faces. Also... eyes! =D
A few mentions: This cactus image looks great, but I don't think that the thorns would all be facing downward (they usually face directly out or upward due to the way they grow), but it really is a nice picture of a cactus. =]
I really don't know what this is (a world in a cave?), but it really looks interesting; almost like something out of a dream of some sort. I can't be sure that it's above water, but that's what I think it appears to be (hanging over water in a cave-like entrance/exit). Pretty cool.
This one looks like a rock formation similar to the one in the image I mentioned above, and is absolutely amazing! I love rocks and this one is quite detailed.
And then this one appears to be some sort of bamboo or wood stalks that were cut; either way it's beautiful and the clouds are very unique (almost Arabian in style) and brilliant! =D

Jun 18 2012, 02:46 PM
Thanks And yeah the cactus is pretty eh but it was my first cactus. Next time the needles will be better. I just wanted to do something rough and new
The World in a Cave is just a city in a glass dome in a rock arch above water x: To my defense its like the first time ive ever drawn water and a glass ball dome You cant see some of it but there is another glass dome above x:
At least my rocky mountain looks like a rocky mountain. That was my first time seriously attempting rocks and mountains ~
And idk what the log one is i just like logs and clouds i guess x;
Anyways thanks tons XMO you always post and i love it so yay~ Hopefully i can get some more drawings out soon maybe i dont even know

Wow, that's a lot of first-time drawing you've done there, and they came out so well.
I would love to see more of these new ideas! It's great to expand your art into new territory, and you seem to do it quite well.
Oh, and you're welcome. I can't leave a great art topic like this without a reply from little me. ^^

Are you making those stones into runic statues? That's a really cool idea, though the blue should probably be some colour other than the blue that the sky has (just to keep it from being confused as holes through the stone, if you know what I mean). =]
You should totally have birds flying out of one side of the huge group of trees. =D
bacon
Jul 12 2012, 11:00 PM

but seriously thanks
XMO: You made me change the runes, I redid the water like you ask, and now you are asking for a bridge what is wrong with you!!!!! No seriously thanks for all of the compliments/criticisms it really has helped me Thats good that it looks like a bridge goes there because its supposed to look like that (or at least what i was hoping for) hopefully i can get all nitty gritty with it thanks again~

mockup of a picture i want to do for a card game
sketches I
also XMO If and when i continue that tree i promise you the first thing i will do is add birds I cant add a bridge because that would go against the story
basically the island is called the isle of spirits and it is the last forest in the world and all of the spirits live there and in order to protect it they killed the bridge at least that is the story so far lol ill probably add a bridge eventually
X-M-O
Jul 19 2012, 10:45 PM
It looks like an explosion, or a deep fiery cave. o.o
Love the faces! XD Are you making a sock puppet?
Yay! Birds!
Ah, well if it ruins the story then you shouldn't add a bridge... maybe just the remnants of a destroyed bridge? ._.

I'll just comment on the latest game concept art. XD Is this for a side-scroller? It looks great - sort of like a "bacon version of Mario" (since there are mushrooms, lol). ^^ I don't know what the purple gooey stuff is, but it looks cool!

Teach me how to cloud bacon, please? Pretty please? That background is really amazing, I can imagine the gate leading into a stormy field filled with crops/wheat and barley. It looks epic!
Very nice practice using the ball and plane method, well done indeed. I can't wait to see how you improve.

I have a great appreciation for art, even if it isn't the "best". =] I particularly love your style and your recent landscape images are really quite gorgeous. To tell you the truth, I've seen much more amateurish art in frames on the walls of the local college offices... Not to imply that you aren't professional, but simply that it isn't as bad as you might think. At the same time, I do believe that a healthy amount of self-criticism (such as what you display) is very beneficial to you as an artist, so I won't tell you not to be hard on yourself; instead, keep up the work because it's great and the practice will make you better.
bacon
Sep 19 2012, 11:34 PM
Thanks XMO. Yeah ive been doing landscapes because i want to work on perspective a little bit more~ speedpaint II spent a little more time on it than the last obv played around with different techniques and colors i dont like the tree leaves at all sky dont make sense either
X-M-O
Sep 19 2012, 11:48 PM
The sky doesn't make sense, lol. It's still a really neat idea though. =] Looks like it belongs in an anime. XD
A better job with the grass than previously, as you mentioned, but it does appear to be done in layers instead of being more balanced. This could work to your advantage if you are trying to create the illusion of wind blowing across the top of the grass in the field.
The tree leaves look like your previous images' clouds. They look great, but I think they are closer to a cloud design. ^^

Sep 20 2012, 12:00 AM
This is all really really incredible. I gotta ask though, and you may have answered this before, but, do you draw this by hand and scan it in or do you paint this using a program? If you do, could you tell me which one and perhaps post a video of you painting? Maybe even a tutorial? I'm a newbie artist but I think painting is the style that would work best for me, so your opinion and information would be a great help to me!

Hmmm. Something that might help you is if you zoom out of the picture. '^' Then, see if you can recognize any of the shapes or colours-- If you can't, work on it some more until it looks more like how you imagined. Another thing that might help is if you squint or half-close your eyes every once in awhile-- that too will help in the shape/colour recognition.
But yes! I agree. I think you should keep at it and i think they look great. ' v ' I would've liked to see the image with the dark clouds and Japanese pillar done too..
