How can I add a picture with normal BMP file without converting it into a 256 BMP(loses color)
I've heard there was some systems, and I'm currently using Infra View(from cherry tree)
and I still can't import the file to it.
I'm using Rpg Maker 2009, 2K3(ver)
and I have Windows 7

any help, here are the 2 pics...

this is the original copy.
1st one is called "Renkai - Ver.3
http://img830.imageshack.us/i/renkaiv3k.png/

this is after I made it into 258.
2nd one is called "Renkai - Ver.3 - ingame"

Anybody knows a device or something that can help with Rpg Maker 2003?

I think the problem is because you're supposed to convert it to 256 colors, not 258 colors. I suggest that you run the original pic though the converter set for 256 colors instead of 258. It should fix it.

yea that's what I meant sorry T_T, the problem is I normally get "picture depth unsupported" which fails most of the time... by also taking off most of the colors. but the question is, is there a system on HOW NOT to lose color?

Well, I usually use the GIMP to change my color depth (it's free!) and it works pretty well as long as you have more than 16 colors total (otherwise it automatically converts into a 16 color instead of a 256 color). But your problem seems to be an amount of colors over 256.
If you can download and use GIMP, you can use a tool called "colorcube analysis" that will tell you how many colors you have in your picture. If it says that you have more than 256, you might want to use "posterize" at the lowest possible setting where everything still looks nice.
Once that's over with, you can convert it to indexed mode. Just remember that unless you want dots all over your picture, don't use the floyd-steinberg method (which is selected by default...) Once that's done, you can save it and use it!
