*Edit* Friends I've shared the details of the story with have a common comment on how the story isn't revolved around saving the world. Yes there are world clashing events going on in the story but that is between the nations at war and not the playable characters. The story is mostly interesting quests and mercenary missions given to the Zodiacs and character's growing emotionally.

Chronicles of Eden, Rise of Man is in a fantasy medevil world that is cast in endless night with only the stars and three giant moons to light the skys. (think less science and more greek mythology here ppl) and the story starts not long after an event known as The Rising happens. The day the dead began rising from their graves. These undead creatures became known as the Grim. The Grim are twisted and angry creatures who seem to be in a never ending nightmare of how they died lashing out at all who draw near to them. No one knows the cause of the Rising but many cultures have their claims.
The Kingdom of Selene, Nation of Man: They believe their gods have become angry with all of Eden for all the false gods being worshiped and they have unleashed an army of the undead to destroy all of Eden so they can start all over. Only way to stop this from happening is for all the false gods to be slain before the undead kill everyone.
The Tulock: a Barbarian people who live only for the glory of battle believe their god Ka has unleash the Grim into the world in order to weed out the week and have the true champions present themselves in battle. For only the greatest warriors will join the gods in battle against the demons the afterlife .
The Shivan: Snake like people who believe the Rising is but just one sign that their goddess is about to return from the heavens and lead their people into a golden age.
The Kion: Nomatic shamans who believe death has been tainted or impirsioned in the spirit world and is unable to escourt the souls of the dead to the afterlife and must be freed.
Major characters:
Mirri Ross: Main character in the story. She is awakened in her hometown only to find everything and everyone has been turned to stone. She has little to no memory of what happened to cause this but later learns its by the hands of the known crimimal "The Trickster." She is captured by the Mercenary group known as the Zodiacs for questioning about how she survived the event. After a series of events she comes in contract with the super being known as Iris, which after touching Iris she drained her to near death giving Mirri the ability to manipulate the elements. With her new abilities and her amazing resistance to curses and magics, Zeria of the Zodiac Mercenaries hires her as a Zodiac with promises of hunting down the Trickster and hopefully reversing the state of her home town. She is nieve to most the world but has a good heart. She is absolutely beautiful and it often works to her advantage and disadvantage through out the story.
The Trickster: A young boy who looks like who could easily be twelve who has been causing mischief through out all of Eden. He has with him a giant magic scythe rumored to be Elvish made that he uses to get his way. He has been reported turning people into pigs, birds, and other animals, stealing prized treasures, going into restricted areas, having his way with woman, and countless other crimes. The bounty on his head is enough to feed a family for ten generations.
Owen Sora: A Shivan Zodiac who leads the Aries Guild. He is a mighty warrior who welds duel axes and is charged with watching over Mirri by Zeria. He can be very hot headed at times and is the group smart ass. He also finds himself to be the Goddess's gift to women.
Zeria: Leader of the Zodiac Mercenaries. She is a small prissy blonde human who looks way younger then she really is. Some say she drains the youth out of young girls who wish to be older, but just rumors right? She has eyes that look like diamonds and her Zodiacs claim she can see into the future. She has been making a fortune off the war because the nations can't spare any of their military to handle small tasks leaving everyone to hire mercenaries.
Orian: Zeria's personal body guard. He is an eight foot tall Kion with deep blue fur and white piercing eyes. He is often refered to as the Zodiac Phantom for he moves like a ghost in battle.
Rith: A mysterious man who is often refered to as "The Reaper." He was Eden's most wanted before the Trickster started causing trouble. His body is covered in glowing tattoos each said to have a demon bound to it. His victims share no pattern and the authorities just see him as a lunatic. The Zodiacs have been after the bounty on his head for over the past ten years.
Karma: One of Miko's cats given human form as a gift to Mirri. She appears to be a fifteen year old girl and acts like small child but is full of random useful information to Mirri and her group. She doesn't get along with Owen because he doubts all her superstitions, that usually turn out to be correct. She is a cook who feeds the group out on their missions and acts as a healer in battles.
Miko, Master Chef: Miko owns the most popular pub in the land, Nine Lives. He is a giant, fat, magical cat that can cook anything. the Zodiacs often come to him for information because he hears so many rumors from all the customers who come through his pub. But never anger Miko, or you might be the newest addition to the menu.
Iris: A super being of unknown orgins that takes on the form of a little girl around the age of eight. Very little is known about Iris, except that she has the ability to control colors. She can touch someone and turn them into a solid color : eyes, hair, cloths, skin etc. When she does this the victim becomes overwhelmed with a matching emotion. Blue makes the victim cry till they die, red makes them full of rage, yellow makes them laugh, Pink makes them madly in love with someone or something of her chosing, green makes them sick till they throw up their insides, and white makes them emotionless, the ultimate curse. She appears through out the story either as ally or enemy after she has a near death encounter from touching Mirri. She becomes obsessed with Mirri and wishes to know all about her.
Vaine McDoogle: A Dwarf that has been making large sums of coin off the Selene military by crafting large Golem like creatures called Scarecrows to be used in their Holy War. He has an mechanical left arm.
High Commander Orlando Craven: Head of Selene's armed forces. He is a very religious man who follows the faith of Luna to the T. He is a good man who is fair and just in his decisions and will never do anything that will go against his faith, even if ordered by the King himself. He is a man of legend and is feared by all his enemies for he weilds an Elvan spear known as Ragnos. He plays a large part in the story that explains the current state of the war in his efforts at besieging heretic nations.
Hogspike: A Goblin thief from the Gold Fang Clan who after a series of events ends up helping Mirri and gets caught by the clan leader. As punishment he is forced to fight Mirri to the death in front of the clan one on one and loses. Mirri refuses to kill hogspike and the clan leader then pronounces them wife and goblin. Hogspike joins the group in their travels and always refers to Mirri as his wife which annoys Mirri to no end.
Tyran Razorfist: The current Tulock Warlord who believes Mirri to be one of his people's holy Battle Maidens of Ka. He is in constant search for her for he wishes to perform his strength and worthiness to her in hopes of being chosen to fight amongst the gods in the afterlife.
Gameplay
Wanting to try to VX engine and Gubid's TBS. The game would be alot like FFTA in a sense of getting missions as a Zodiac Merc all while chasing after the trickster and Rith and of course slowly showing the world and how it works. I was planning on having an arena type area where you could battle other Zodiac guilds in battle for the crowds enjoyment earning rewards for your guild.
