What will be a good game u see today on consoles that can be recreated in RMXP with RPG elements?

U've seen my post about a resident evil rpg and I've actually played that, it's good. After playing that, I was intrigued by that to create another game like that with RPG elements, so any ideas?

Recreating a game is good but I prefer a totally original game than something that has already been done. How about you come up with your own idea instead. Remakes do get quite old. However Phantasy Star is a good example of a game being remade in rpg maker. I haven't played the real game but I've played the one on this site and I must say I'm impressed with the detail. I'd recommend taking a look at it before you make a remake.

Ok, thx for the advice and I understand what u r saying. I'll take a look at Phantasy Star and I'll have a look and see what RPG I can remake like........erm......from the the NES, SNES or Megadrive days.

EDIT: Actually, a remake will be quite difficult coz I'll have to play the whole game and create the game at the same time - play 'n' create laugh.gif
It'll be the same with sequels and espicially I need anything the first game has in the game. Nah, it's best to stick with original games.

This topic is open for everyone, so all opinions and ideas r welcome smile.gif

I think games should only be remade with RM if they it's an original idea.

So by that I mean, don't do Final Fantasy. Or Chrono Trigger. or Dragon Quest. Games like those are RPGs already, and remaking them with RM would just end up being a "weaker" version of that original game.

You use Resident Evil as an example above. That game is a shoot-em up zombie game. If done well, converting it to a 2D RPG could be pretty interesting. As long as the game being remade isn't already an RPG, then go for it.

Or, even if you do want to remake an RPG there are a few times when it's ok- Like one group of people remade Final Fantasy 7 with NES style graphics and gameplay. The game was terrible because of how slow it played and how monsters had billions of hit points, but trying to take a modern day game and giving it a retro look and feel is also what I would consider an acceptable effort.

I think this idea can be used for just about any game, but it may be hard to pull off. Like right now I'm imagining a Splinter Cell remake in RM. Seems like a hard thing to do. And remaking the game isn't enough, I think you should also convert its gameplay into an RPG.

I am creating a final fantasy game, but it's not remake or anything, it's just another game in the long running series.

Resident Evil is a perfect example of an action game and turning it into an RPG. U meet the characters, defeat the enemies with the weapons and using items and besides, it's got a long history in the series as well. I would if I could, but there's no decent resources out there.

I've seen the FFVII remake for the NES and I can't believe they managed to pull it off. The game was terrible coz it couldn't meet the requirements of the PSone classic - people on here have tried to do remake the game for RMXP, but no luck at all.

Splinter Cell RPG? That will be hard, so good luck with it. smile.gif
