Helpful could be the recruitment of more people who are skilled with XAS. Will boost the weapon development progress, greatly.

Hey, could you like to share this nice tileset with the PZE UP4? Could be awesome and can be a time-saver for many people across the world who try the PZE.


Tell you what S_R: I am not that gifted in custom edits, and these tiles could certainly use your"touch" biggrin.gif I was hoping you could actually tweak them after I get finished smile.gif (That is if you get the time). I am only going to post the basic light/dark world tiles for minimaps. I'd like to be able to see the four seasons implemented into the tileset. I am also only going to submit the one file since, while it is a great idea to do autotiles to make mapping easier....I want this out ASAP, and I made the tileset in such a way that autotiles would be harder to do.

After they're submitted...you wanna take a crack at it? biggrin.gif

[Edit] I've completed the tileset. Now it's probably missing a few tiles here and there, and some tiles from other fan games were added as well. I'm not the best at organizing so I hope it'll work.

That's the line: @cw = bitmap.width / @character.charset_tile_width

Seems that I've got a prob with the spriteset_w_TILE stuff...
Anybody who could help?

Edit: btw: the Actor graphic is Link_w_7 again...

Hmmm I cant find the cause of your error. Have you renamed a file incorrectly that may be the cause of the error?

I will ask our scripters maybe they know.

I've got it working... The Startposition wasn't on the Starting Map.
Seems like this lil event on this map prevents this error.

I am sorry for Startpoint being in Starting map. This is another terrible feature of the UP3 that has been changed to UP4.

In UP4, you are now absolutely free to use the Startpoint anywhere! The Starting Map is gone once and for all! smile.gif

Oh, no need for apologizes... biggrin.gif It was my own stupidnes... (Is this word alright? My german is well but my english is really horrible... biggrin.gif)..
I'm really looking forward for UP4. Nice to see the menus and 3 buttons... I already did this before for my Zelda Game, based on the original PZE from mastermind, ace and co... I wish u've got this done earlier, it was a god damn bunch of work to get the menus and keys fully working... xD

Here is some info of our progress on the Engine, regarding the Equipment Subscreen, the Magic Mirror weapon and the swords in combat.

Magic Mirror
The Magic Mirror is another of the dozens of weapons we have finished so far.
The Magic Mirror in PZE functions 100% the same as in Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
You have to be in the Dark World so to use the Magic Mirror. Using it, will warp you back to the Light World and a small sparkling warp portal is created if the warp is successful. However, it will return you back to the Dark World if you happen to land on an impassable tile in Light World.

All the swords are now more unique in combat (on the map).

I get what he is asking remember on OoT and MM you could hit L1, I think it was, and it would toggle the maps on or off, that's what he is asking.

Even theres no such switch, its really simple rgss to make it your own. A simple if else condition with button check and dispose in the script should help you out I think.

Chakanevil, you can ignore UP1 and UP2 because they are not really different from UP3. A only description for UP3 is all what we need xD

About the US filter, I recommend talking to your professors or the authorities who overlook the computers in your school. They may know what to do.

I thought I'd make a teaser of whats to come and the overall progress of UP4, just to encourage everyone to wait and to drool over the hard work.

I am pretty sure many people are gonna love the new feature added to the PZE:

The Roll move!

To roll in PZE, you have to press Action Button WHILE moving with the direction movement arrows.
A pretty valuable and funny action the player can perform anytime, both in combat and to "tackle" some objects, such as Jars, Pots, Shrubs and more! The roll may be used repeatedly to travel faster than walking, much like in Legeond of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, as well! wink.gif

We also made significant progress with the Mask system in PZE. More info about them, soon! wink.gif

Here's whats in store for everyone that is waiting, Like The team and myself said it's well worth the wait, It's much better than UP3 ever dared to be.

S_R what do you think of the video, I spent 3-4 hours editing it and recording pze functions.

Also I was thinking of Z targeting today, and backflipping / slide advoid and finishing blow like when you z target rocks in OoT / MM and finishing blow from skyward sword. Oh and deku link, goron link, and zora link have different instruments, could we do that, or the wolf from twilight princess?

I loved your video. ^^ If you didnt noticed, I already re-posted your post in all other forums where PZE is hosted, within 1-2 hours since you posted the video here on RPGRevolution.com. By the way, how comes the Lens of Truth from UP3 are in this video?

Z targeting is not possible I am afraid. Really this 3D feature is not possible and never been in 2D Zelda games. Sorry sad.gif
Finishing blows: is too early for that now. Yet we have to implement the core battle skills for Link (such as Sword Charge, Spin Attack, Sword Beam, etc). We worry about the Finishing Move, at a later time!

You know that the Deku Link is Work In Progress. Its obvious, the reason you didn't saw the Deku musical instrument implemented to PZE is because it needs some time and patience. We will eventually implement it after we finish with other abilities for the Deku Link. A little patience! smile.gif Rome wasn't build in one day. tongue.gif

About the Wolf's howl - as I said noumerous times, the LoZ Twilight Princess is not a game of immediate priority for the PZE team. You must understand that here we have yet to implement the stuff of older games to the engine (especially weapons and dungeon mechanisms from LTTP, OOT and LA) before we can move towards at implementing content from Wind Waker, Twilight Princess and other newer Zelda games.

@Chaka, there's no need to be a mod on PZE site. The PZE team group has the ability to mod all PZE related forums... I think. I'll double check that.

Yeah, and I am not very satisfied with the Descriptions you made, my dear Chak. We don't want in the download page of UP3 the people to read ''Get on Epona and ride the world with her!" or something like that. We need a real description about the UP3.

I asked for technical info from you since you know the UP3 from first hand and you also are an English-speaking man ;(

But I liked your descriptions in overall - even if they don't fit well as descriptions for the site. ^^

Chak, or Klok, who ever tried UP3, can someone write some technical info of it? I want real info! OK?

This is going to be awesome, but its taking too long i would of being happy with just a basic starter kit, thinks like the time system, masks, some of the items and other features could of being added in another update. a lot of us waiting for the engine don't need all those features to start our games, which i hope they can be disabled.

Yes all the features they can be fully disabled! wink.gif No worries about that. We made the system in an way so when you disable a feature, it won't cause lags or negative impacts to the engine's performance. You are gonna love it. By the way, now I am really thinking of releasing the PZE UP4 as a Beta version which I can't quarantee it won't have bugs - but at least you will be able to start making your games without having to wait for the full and complete version of the Starter Kit.


OK guys - just in my free time, after a tiring day, decided to spend a half hour to make some small updates on maps - just for fun - especially for the Library map which already came with the UP3 but it was too ugly compared to other library maps I have seen on forums! Hope you like it!:

OK ladies and gentlemen, here are some new features added to the Project Zelda Engine!

The Advanced Caterpillar System has been added to PZE! with commands that can control your NPC follower, such as stop following me, stay here temporarily, and follow me! Also the NPC followers can follow you from map to map, like Princess Zelda in Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, and there is no need for placing events! Everything is automated thanks to the nice Caterpillar script by Maximusmaxy!
Note: the followers can not fight alongside Link in battles. Followers who can fight is not possible, at all, in the current built of XAS Battle Engine.


Sword Scabbards have been added to PZE!! Now, the Sword Scabbards can be displayed on Link's back, when he equips a sword, much like in Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and later installments! The Scabbards are absolutely independent from the Link's other visual equipment displayed on him, such as tunics and Masks! Enjoy! smile.gif

The Ally system for XAS is a rewrite of version 3.4, using a bunch of other scripts and is in no way compatible with the current version of XAS let alone the PZE. If we wanted to implement something like that in the engine it would need to be done from scratch, and we aren't looking into things like that until update 5. Also the second link is for Mr Mo's ABS and I highly doubt anything scripted for Mr Mo's ABS would be compatible with XAS.

On dropbox i had this in mind,

Couldn't we make an ally script so that if player swings a sword or pushes a block so does the allies, as well as collision detection like the dark world script so that if a copy cat hits a block they disappear, so more or less a copy cat script?

I was thinking of the minish cap/4 swords ally system, although the one you have made is really impressive max.

Hi there!

Sorry for my absense from the forums - you see, a new member joined the PZE team a few days ago, increasing the team's size to 8 members (some of us are active everyday on the engine, while some others are more sporadically active). His name is Thunder and thanks to his high knowledge over XAS (he is a XASABS veteran), we made awesome progress on PZE the past 2 days!

I will post more news in some days! This work needs patience and time, but I am so happy with the results so far. The new weapons are great!

Unfortunately, in the team, as you see, we accept only members who are active and are contributing to the PZE. You have been removed from both the Dropbox and the team, as you were inactive for really long time, and without informing the team (or other teammates) about your absense.

This is not a club - is a team, so if you are not working on it, there is no point to keep the membership. tongue.gif

In this case, you, along with 2 other teammates (Alexcalibur and MauroTorres) are no longer members of the PZE team. sleep.gif

@SilentResident Just wondering who is actually left on the team? Do you have enough people now? What else could you use?
and btw I am loving XAS for all 3 RPGM versions! Great choice on moving up to it.
I am willing to help out any I can and as always you have my full support. I will put all my projects on back-hold if you need me!

Also I agree a team member doesn't just "disappear" from the team especially without saying anything.

yea i know i just didn't want to remake the video, and about the MC sprites and tilesets i have a big collection some made by me and some edited from the originals, once the update 4 is out i could share them with everyone in the forum.
