so...
theres,
Naruto RP
Dragon Ball Z RP
Dragon Age RP
Trickster
Dragonball wouldn't really work in a RP due to the weak story, Naruto... Eh, and Dragon Age I... quite like the idea of a Dragon Age RP.
Nicsp
I did actually start working on Dragon Age RP once but i decided to drop it and went with Mass Effect instead. sweat.gif

I'm busy with the Pokemon RP at the moment, but if you wish, i could PM some of the stuff i thought up.

Story is a smaller factor in Roleplay's these days. You'll notice that RP's are most active when players arn't spilling exposition, and instead engaging in battle. A Dragonball RP can play to that strength. I've seen it done on a seperate site.

A Naruto RP will not work because it requires at least one group of 3 to be active in order for the RP to get anywhere. You lose one, and everything goes down hill. Again, I've seen this happen.

Dragon Age: I don't have enough knowledge to comment.

Dragonball-1

Dragonage-2

It just requires people to join, only if they have ACTUAL interest, and not those who join, and either make posts that make people facepalm, or people who start a conversation and/or action with your character then leave.

I Personally would prefure to see Naruto or Dragon Age.
Xamusel
Ditto Naruto... not so much Dragon Age.

Okay then, full opinions/suggestions on each one.

Dragonball

Like Ryuga said, could work if we were to focus on the battling part, we could have the RP being just a kind of tournament or something, which could work. Come to think of it, i saw something similar in another RP, they had this "Arena" RP where anyone could jump in, all they needed to do was post a quick BIOS of their character in the sign-up area and another player, who alredy has posted his own character, could PM that person and they would both do the battle in the RP topic. This RP was not "hosted" by anyone, it served, basically as a free ground where everyone who had gotten themselves a character signed-up could come in and battle. Not only is an easy way of doing quick, short RPs, it also is a great training for any newbies which might need to learn about RPing battles. Also, this RP could serve as a start off point for other possible RPs, it doesn't necessarily need to be Dragonball, maybe just a special place where different fighter from all planets/realms/universes/whatever could show up and battle each other.

Naruto

BELIEVE I- Okay sorry. -ahem- Anyways. I don't really have much of an opinion in this, i'd participate in it, though, as long as it wasn't too cannon. If i am not mistaken, there was alredy a Naruto RP hosted in this forum, by Modesty, if i remember correctly. My only suggestion/opinion would be to go check that one out, possibly for ideas, before opening a new one.

Dragon Age

Like i said...I had my own plans for a Dragon Age RP, but at the time i decided to instead go with a Mass Effect one. I'd definetly participate and it can be quite awesome if done properly since Dragon Age has a very good, yet simple (In my opinion) lore. If it interests anyone, i'll leave a summary of what i had planned in here. But first, a bit of information you'll need to understand it, in case you didn't play Dragon Age.

"As i'm sure everyone who've even heard of the game know, there's magic in it. However, magic in this universe's lore is described as being an amazingly powerful and dangerous gift. The Chantry (Local religious institution) built towers, one in each country, these towers, know as the Circle of the Magi, are where those who were born with the gift of magic are taken to be able to study and advance their abilities without coming into contact with the outside world. The Circle is, however, as much of a home as it's a prison. Mages are not allowed to leave the Circle except under direct orders from the Chantry or the local monarch.

To protect the mages inside the Circle from any who would try to harm them, and to keep the mages inside from not being watched, the Chantry opened a certain order of Knights, the Templars. Templars are, like priests, educated in the Chantry. However, when a young member of the Chantry shows to also have promise as a fighter, he is instead sent to be a Templar, where he receives special training, designed to be used specifically against mages.

Some "schools" of magic, such as shapeshifting, arcane fighting and the extremely powerful blood magic, were prohibited by the Chantry. As such, any students of the Circle caught studying these arts is immediately either executed or is turned into a tranquil (Go search about it if you're curious, i didn't find it important enough to go into much detail in it here.). But even though that, there are those that manage to run away from the Circle and the Chantry, practicing their magic secretly, without restrictions. These "freelance" mages are reffered to as Maleficars, and are heavily hunted by the Templars. (And the occasional bounty hunters)

Actual plot i thought up starts here...

Our group could be a bunch of mages living in one of those Circles and, either for being falsely accused of studying forbidden magic, or for actually studying it, or for just being plain sick of having armored people watching you all the time, (Imagine it, you have a two feet tall dude in heavy armor staring at you while you're trying to go to the bathroom because they're afraid you'll try to make a poo golem.) we want to run away, escape the Circle and live freely and peaceful among the normal people. (-cough cough- Or burn them all for trying to contain you. -cough cough-) The RP's group would basically consist of mages and any local priest or templar that, for some reason, sympathizes with their cause. My only issue would be to as if what we would do once we've escaped (If we do) the tower, for one, we could just end the RP there and stick to and they live happily ever after (Or die.), although that would make the RP rather short, i believe. (Even though that's not necessarily a bad thing...) Or, we could try something else, although i have really no idea as to what...

Well, this post ended up a little bit bigger than i expected, if you actually read all that, i congratulate you and give you a lifetime stock of invisible cookies. They're in your lap right now, CAN'T YOU FEEL THEM?!

I remember an Arena in another Roleplay site I once visited. Perhaps it's time for RRR to have it's own Arena?
Although I remember the outcomes for matches in that Arena was determined by readers. Not sure how that system would fair here.
But whatever. This has totally inspired me to make the RRR arena. So it's off to work with Ryuga.

Sparrowsmith
Well thanks to Nicsp I'm very interested in the Dragon Age Rp, so here's my advancement on his idea for a story...

What if the RP is more than just mages?
A circle of mages is in fact behaving perfectly fine, though tired of the rules, when they accompany a more powerful friend to a forbidden section of the spire. Their friend begins using incredibly advanced magic to escape, but we get caught in the process. The Templars, convinced that a single mage could not have done that much damage, decide that there our group must have been aiding him (or her).
To make an example of us, the templars go for a public execution.
This is roughly where the RP begins (unless there is interest to do the beginning)
Our mages, skilled as they are, find a way to survive the public hanging (One spell that imitates death, and another that levitates the subject down slowly, preventing any neck injury) The only problem with this plan is that one of them does die (unless a Templar were to finish the spell for the last one, believing them to be innocent wink.gif)
They wake up in a tomb/morgue/on top of a hill/wherever traitorous mages would go.
They make for their escape into the world (Aided by the previous templar maybe, but further aided by people they encounter throughout their journey. Perhaps someone who speaks out at their execution who is a bounty hunter)
Together they decide to hunt down the real mage who escaped, both to clear their names and for some moral reason.

Not everyone likes magic, so I assume the RP would work best if we broaden the people involved.
Only have a few mages, a Templar or two, A bounty hunter or two, a conman or fake magician, and others...

To be honest it's the only RP that really interests me, more room for storylines and epic battles.
Trickster
I love Dragon Age, would love to see a RP based around it, and love Sparrow's story. Though it would really limit things a bit. Let's face it, how many non-Mages could act as conmen and infiltrate the Circle of Magi? Aside from that, for the Mages among our group, there's also the issue of being pretty much forced to be legitimate mages due to the Templar(s) in the group, meaning we can't be Maleficar unless the Templar(s) were to face some kind of dramatic moral change which lets them justify forbidden mages who are often associated with Abominations: the main enemy of the Templar order.

So basically, the story needs a few branching side stories (or one major side story) to act as legitimate means of introducing non-mage characters into the story.
Sparrowsmith
I figure we could work all that out later wink.gif Keep it simple for now, not really my idea anyway.

Perhaps the Templars simply went astray when they found out the other Templars would kill innocent mages just to make an example of them and give the public faith. Perhaps they realise that Maleficars aren't all that dangerous, they're only punished because the public doesn't like the magic they use.
But maybe there's more to justice than what the public think sleep.gif

wow, look how deep that storyline got...
The Angel of Death
LOL@eveyone suggesting stuf about DA:O,
LOL harder@Nicsp for thinking I need to learn the DA:O lore, cause I work for Bioware. tongue.gif
Nicsp
-_-

I never said it was directed specifically at you. I left it there for anyone who read this and didn't know about DA: O lore.
Xamusel
I guess you really meant people like me... I guess we'll see.

-_-'
The Angel of Death
Oh, tongue.gif anyways, cause That could be a Bitchslap in the face for anyone in the future,
Also the DA:O RP would let you play as a Human, Elf, Dwarf, and Qunari.
I would take role as the Arch Demon, Summoning Monsters and the like.
TaFresh
....If Im around, I vote DA:O. Heyy, Bioware, do you wanna snag me an early copy of Dragon Age II? Pleaaaase!
Omnial
Sounds like DA is going to be the rp then? (That is great, Soooo many possibilities zipping in my head, character possibilities. =D )

And Since suggestions are being thrown out there, here is mine...

(Not meaning to take from the game too much buuuuut)
Why not have us, or some of us as grey wardens?

Having the story take place in an original land, that is also going through, or is soon to have a blight? We could start off with an epic battle like in DA:O , each of us comiung from whatever factions we want, and we go into glorious battle! And lose!

After our loss (since i would assume a page or two of battles) we somehow live, and find ourselves scattered (This could help for if people randomly drop out without notice, then they can be assumed dead) And for some of us free. We wont have a person to blame for our loss, other than our higherups being ill prepared, but they paid there dues for that.

Or this could be mixed with say...Nicsp's idea as a method out for the mages, because I'm sure they would take precautions to make sure mages didn't fake there own death and public excecutions if done like that just turn said people into maurders, special if people see them walking around later on. Which would cause even more turmoil for the chantry than mages alone.
