Hello, very new to the forum although have been lurking around for a while... not creepily, though.

Just wondering if anyone could help me with a little problem I've got. A long time ago I started making a little game for my sister, then forgot about it for ages. Last week I bought the full version of RMXP, and I keep getting the error "This project is from an old version of RPG maker and cannot be loaded" whenever I try to run the old project.

Has anyone else had this issue and knows how to fix it? Or am I doomed to have to start over again?

Did you run and make the game with RPG2003 or was it really an XP version?

If you used a demo version of XP, I suppose this could be a reason....

Try replacing the Game.exe, Game.ini and Game.rxproj of your old game with a copy made using the legit RMXP.
Of course, back up your game before doing this.

Yep it's definately XP, although it was made on the trial version of it, although I didn't think that would have any affect on whether I would be able to continue it.

Do you have any idea on how would I make a copy using the new version of the maker? I can't even open it as I get that error.
