Hi everyone! I'm making an attempt at a unique Forum RPG. It's based on my concept of "Triumph-day", a prom-like ball and a marriage ceremony on which every citizen of Narapolis must take place the year they turn 18: those who don't are faced with execution. This law is upholded by the Narapolitan special forces, the NASPAU (NArapolitan Special PAcifying Unit). Narapolis itself is a city resembling 21st century Tokyo, with the same general environments (this will have importance)
Those who would like to take part must create a character using the following character sheet:
Character sheet
Name: Sex: Physical description: Personality summary: Special powers (2 allowed, NO GODMODE!):
All characters are uniformly 18 years of age and are attending the Narapolitan High School.
Basic rules:
- The goal for each player is to find a match for Triumph-day. A match consists of 1 male and 1 female character, just to make it clear. No exceptions. - Matches are made by a character asking out another in the topic (not PM), and the other approving. Both should be written in red so that everyone would notice. - Those who don't find a match will end up in the "necrolog", the last post of the game. - 2 methods of communication is allowed: forums and PM. However, I, as a GM, expect to receive a copy of each letter. No other player will see it. PMs don't have to stick to forum rules but keep the RP at least to some level. - Forum is an open communication: everyone'll see what you write. - PMs are only seen by the one sending it, the one receiving it and the GM (me). - I'd like to remind everyone: the forums are PG-13. Stick to it, okay? - Within this topic, there are NO usernames. Your character is independent from your username. Please refer to each other with character names. - Reaction time to posts is 48 hours. After that, to prevent a standstill, force-posting is allowed, for 6 hours only for the GM (me), after that, anyone. - Don't use special colors save for red in special occasions., - No OOC, please. If it's really a must, use blue colour. - No godmode or powerplay, and no forceposting when someone asks someone out, not even after 54 hours! - The GM has the privilege to create and control NPCs. However, I won't use godmode either. - Characters don't have to uphold Narapolitan laws: they are free to attack other characters should their interests demand it so. I'd like to remind everyone of the NASPAU at this point. - You, as a character, can win the game 3 ways: find a match, evade the NASPAU until the 5th of february or defeat Naraclaum, the god of Triumph-day. - The game lasts from the 1st december until the 5th of february. Triumph-day is january 30. - From the 25th of january, those with no match must avoid the NASPAU: choose a hiding place. Every day, the NASPAU will search 3 location out of 15, and drop-out the players that chose that particular place. You send your hiding place to a player I'll choose later, and (s)he will tell me if there are any characters hiding there. Please note that any posts made when hiding will result in an immediate arrest. - Also, after the 25th, PMs shoud be no longer sent to me, so that you can help each other in hiding. - There's also the possibility of challenging Naraclaum. If you wish to do so, you can do that at any point. You'll need, however, more characters: four more than those who couldn't find a match (so if we have 10 male and 7 female characters, you'll have 3 spare ones, add 4, so you'll need 7 players to fell the deity). Attacking Naraclaum works by declaring it in the topic, with red color normally unavailable to players so everyone will notice. After that, any player can join in. If the required number of characters is reached, you'll all win the game. If not, the attackers will be considered dead. - At the end, the list of pairs and the necrolog with killed characters will be shown.
To make things more interesting, please leave a 20-30% gap between the number of male and female characters (5 and 8,8 and 12 or 15 and 20 would be perfect).
If you're interested, reply with a character sheet. Also, feel free to comment.

Damn, this looks hella tight. I kinda stopped roleplaying for awhile then I saw the topic title. Having played your game, I knew the significance of the name Naraclaum(Incidentally, I lost on the final fight so I'll be going back to finish it at some point. xD). It seems really interesting so I guess I'll sign up.
Name: Valens Animi Sex: Male
Physical Appearance:
Personality summary: A charming ladies' man with good grades in school He fools around a lot but his eyes belie his darker, inner feelings. He has a lot of friends but isn't actually close to any of them. Special powers: Wind manipulation and acrobatics
Let me know if those two powers are okay.

Still looking for players, 5 at least! Also, a slight extension for the rules:
- Should a player attack Naraclaum, others have 72 hours to join in.
Also, I'll open the main topic soon. Don't post there until you've registered here. Also, deadlines are expected to change based on how soon we can get enough players.

Kinda bummed no one else has joined so far. I thought the regular crew would show up. Oh well, give it some more time I guess.

personally I haven't joined just because the concept doesn't interest me, though I imagine others have refrained because of flaws in the rules. Let's say everybody but one find a match, then five people oppose the god or whatever and defeat him, surely that makes the effort of all the other RPers moot? Furthermore, why would the additional four people join in the fight? After submitting to the ceremony it's a bit of a kick in the teeth to just fight the good fight all the same. The game is essentially E-Dating, but with a resolution of violence.
Don't get me wrong, great game concept, but it just wouldn't work as an RP.

I admit it's a little unorthodox, but that's part of what intrigued me. Plus having played the game, and fallen in love with it, I really wanted to try this out. lol Ah well, to each his own.
