I wanted to make game with platform battle system like tales of abyss/legend of dragoon but in wold map/dungeon/town it's like grandia 1 or 2.
I already got the story down and everything [I'm a artist so i draw my own characters]
Is there engine that can help me with this? [can't use rpg maker xp vx because the trial expired unless i buy it.]
P.S. I just got back so sorrry if i put this topic in wrong place or done something wrong. [haven't log in for a while due to school -_-]

3D Gamemaker or 3D RPG Editor perhaps.

You should really shell out for VX or XP (personally I'm plugging VX) because you'll very easily be able to get a script made for the system you want. It sounds like you're a beginner, so the easy eventing of RPG Maker will really help you, as opposed to learning something else like Game Maker.
You could also try the RPG Toolkit, a free program which includes a scripting system, so you can make your battles however you want.

RPG Toolkit is very good but quite useless without knowing RPG Code and is just is hard as Game Maker.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EB_eTnCvzy4I think if you learn Ruby(what RGSS is based on) You can change quite a bit about the battle systems, and i would really pay for RPG maker, it is the cost of 1 xbox 360 game. But if that does not float your boat you could try game maker, and re-create your RPG!

Currently the RPG Toolkit probably wouldn't be the best option, but it is currently undergoing a major makeover, so maybe in the future it will be ideal.

I don't know, if the best recommendation I hear about a tool is that it's "just like game maker", I would recommend staying away from it while you're a beginner. game maker is an incredibly dense toolset to cut your teeth on if you're not comfortable with a lot of scripting yet.
I'm just learning RPG maker XP right now, but from what I've seen of it, it's actually not TOO difficult to learn and them opening up the ruby script means you can, if you want, do some insanely complex things with it.

I would say buy VX. I've found it to be almost limitless. RPG Toolkit, a suggestion mentioned on here a few times, I have found to be incredibly difficult to use. As for Game Maker, well, I would prefer that over Toolkit, but it really isn't cut out for RPGs and that can be rather challenging.
In any case, to have the exact game you want, you'll have to spend money and learn coding. Whether you want to buy VX, Game Maker, or whatever floats your boat.
My recommendation is paying for VX.

Unity, Construct, Game maker. Are some alternatives to RPG Maker.
Construct is about as simple but isn't designed for RPGs. Unity is primarily for 3D games but can do 2D. Game maker is easy peasy, but is harder than RM.

I think you could even do a platform battle system in Rm2k3 using a CMS and the Pic Pointer Patch, its a good amount of work but is doable and you dont need to deal with Ruby or real code if your not comfortable at it.
Also If youv never made a game before, or have any RM experience, download rm2k3 and play with it and it should teach you the foundation of coding and programming rpgs. The first game you make wont be your greatest, but after you get good at that, you can work on the game youv always wanted to and should have the experience to really pull it off!

The nice thing about Rm2k/3 is you don't need to be a programmer to use it, but you will slowly become one as you get used to it and eventually move on to complex scripting with XP or VX as you start to realize the limits of rm2k/3.
Also I would buy VX....You'll need it eventually
