(Based on the movie by Harold P Warren)

Michael Downing and Margaret Peterson are the textbook examples of an All-American couple. Forced to postpone their wedding due to severe rainfalls, they seek shelter inside a lone Motel on the side of the road. Things take a swift turn for the worst when the couple is separated and thrown into an enormous labyrinth sitting underneath the motel. The twosome make it their mission to reunite with each other, teaming up with two mysterious and quirky individuals along the way. Will the young couple overcome the plethora of deadly demons and dangerous traps to reach other other in time, or will a much greater evil expose the cracks in their relationship to claim Margaret as his own? .

Thanks for playing! Mucho appreciation! Sorry it's taken me so long to reply to you, but I shall answer your questions. Now, about that ending...

Secret Ending
When you beat the secret boss, you didn't actually kill him. Instead, his soul jumped inside your body. So, when Margaret and Michael tried to get back home, they were instead taken to the "demon world'. Reason being, is because they are technically no longer human now. Despite having a human face, they have a demon's soul and thus will forever be separated from "him" (God). The demons in this world are planning to invade the human world thanks to the weakening "dimensional wall" caused by The Master.

Does that help? smile.gif

Yes that makes a lot of sense! Thank you, but still who was the secret boss like he wasnt the master what was he... sorry for the questions jsut wondering tongue.gif

He was another one of the temple's creations. The temple itself is like limbo, so to speak. It exists in between the human world, and the demon world, and has infinite power. It can create anything or manifests itself in any image (either it's a demon, a ghost or a doppelganger) that it desires.

...Fine, I'll bite and download this.

It can't possibly be worse than the source material!

........please don't let it be worse than the source material.

Seriously though, what the hell posessed you to make a game based on "Manos": The Hands of Fate, anyway?

Watching the MST3K version of this movie was hilarious... because the movie was SO BAD.

How could you even convert it into a game?

comments-
How long is this?
Your maps look too empty and open.

Honestly, I just wanted to see if I could do it. laugh.gif

Another website was having a constant to make a game based off of a horror movie, and I chose this one because I figured it would be easy enough to do. Annnnd I only had about 3 weeks to do this, so I didn't want to pick anything complicated. tongue.gif

However, this game doesn't follow the movie's plot verbatim. It borrows certain plot elements and characters from the original, but 85% of the storyline + the dialogue is all mine. I have gotten good feedback on the changes so far.

If you decide to give this a try, I look forward to reading your thoughts, negative or positive.

I converted it into a game because the original did have some good ideas, but the execution was...well, a bit lacking. So with this game, I attempted to give them the ~justice~ that they deserved.

A normal playthrough is about an 1-2 hours long, but if you combine the two storylines (and the optional dungeon in playthrough #3), it's about 5-6 hours. The game also comes with a complete spoiler-free guide that may come in handy during certain points.

As far as the maps are concerned, I wanted to make the game look as realistic as possible, so some maps, like the motel, don't have a lot of excessive detail because I wanted them to look as close to a 1950s old motel as I could.

Other maps, like the catacombs, were deliberately made to look "open" because there several items scattered throughout. I wanted to give the players room to *explore*.

Lemme say this first: The movie sucks muffin, (?) so I wouldn't recommend a game off of it. But, if you insist, I shall critique it.

I'm liking the text, the grammar is sound and it looks pretty.
I'm not liking the maps, they look pretty bland.
From what I can tell the story is very different from the real Manos, but it still is pretty drab.

Keep working on it. unsure.gif

Yeaster
Well, the game is already finished, so.............................. tongue.gif

As far as the story goes, the opening paragraph is only a small part of it. It's a lot more involved, story-wise, and it's mostly a character driven RPG.

I know that, but you can always change things and get another download link.

I'm just starting to get my feet wet in the RPG maker world. While scrolling, this title just popped up to me since I am a huge MST3K fan. Downloading now.

Sorry for the long time to reply, lol i think i replied to you on another site as well. This was great how the story was expanded on, since i watched a lot of b-movies and kung fu flicks it makes me want to try this out. I was wondering if I could get the battle script you use to make the actor graphics appear? I love the way it works out.

Nooooo problem. smile.gif I used OriginalWij's base scripts. You can find them here: http://originalwij.wordpress.com/downloads/ It's in either the "base script" file or the "compilation" file.

Glad you liked the game!
