Hello everyone.

I have a small, but very annoying problem. No matter what i try, the "change screen colour tone" event command, will not work, when used directly from an event on the map screen. The only time i have ever got it to work, was to tint the screen grey by using a common event. Though, i do not want to use a common event, each and every time i wish to change the screen colour, or fade to black.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated at this point.

How are you using the event? Is it something the player walks over and the iint changes? Is no you need to change the event to work on player touch.

If you want it to just be BAM change, then you need an event with a parallel process to change the tone.

Show us your event and tell us in what way you are trying to make it work to get more proper help.

It seems my screen capture\print screen key does not work. However, the event i am trying to use, is indeed a on "Player Touch" method of beginning. It starts with a "wait" command, followed by the change screen colour, to complete darkness. The rest of the event works, actors move, sound effects are played, the screen even flashes when iv'e told it to. It's simply the screen colour, which will not change.

I'm starting to think it is my map, more than anything else. I tried the command on a totally blank map and it worked.

When you hit print screen, you need to open another program, paint, gimp, photoshop and use 'paste' to paste the image in ;3 Print screen just copies your screen, you need to paste it into something after ;3

Try that then show us the event.

It wont allow me to post it, or i simply do not know how. It keeps telling me something about dynamic images. Iv'e uploaded it to the image album thing, on this site though.

Do you have any custom climate or time script? If they change the tints, they override anything you change. The only way of changing the tint yourself is to temporarily stop the automatic tint.

you have to upload your images to a file hosting site like imageshack or photobucket, it sounds like you were trying to link to images directly from your computer.

No. The only thing i have which effects the map, is a dynamic sound script.

Ignore the "show and erase picture commands", they're there, in place of the fade to black colour tone.

There is the second half of the event thus far. The second page is just blank, the switches triggered are to make a few surrounding events appear. I'm really not sure why the command does not work.

So first, are you controlling the color change by a common event? Cause I don't see a single "Change Screen Color Tone" in that whole thing, and with out that, there is no color change.

No, as i said i changed the screen colour command, with the show picture command.

Well. I have been quite the fool hehehe. It seems there was a common event i had forgotten to clear from an old test i did some time ago. It was still being triggered by a switch which was set to activate on game start. Once i cleared that, it was fine. hehehe
