Just 4 teh lulz. I've also noticed a decline in the Roleplaying forum's level of activity, so I decided to create a unique roleplay in the hopes of reviving it. So yeah.

Storyline
Six perfectly executed murders of politicians within Mist, a mysterious city cut-off from the outside world by harsh law; apparently, other cities are too corrupt and "tainted" in comparison to the pre-organized paradise that is Mist. Each of these murders have included evidence to suggest that two culprits were involved. Now, a new defence force has been gathered from all districts of the city of Mist. This force is a collection of particularly talented individuals, tasked with the goal of investigating these murders and finding those involved. Success has a 32.96% chance of actually occuring.
Especially with mysterious beings neither human nor android acting behind the scenes.
An overly-curious, mysteriously intelligent doctor. An unknown creature. A group of unfortunate chosen citizens.
Mist is in for a treat.
Setting
To explain the harsh world this RP takes place in, I'm gonna use a random class room lesson / short story
"Alright class... This is a big year for all of us. It's the year in which you take your standardisation exams. Now these exams have been kept a secret from you for the most part. You knew they were coming, but you didn't know exactly what they were; I'm here to explain it. In this city, the citizens are split up into districts, each district housing a particular class of citizen. Here for example, this school is in the Middle Class District. There is also the Slum District and the Nobility Sector. Now, here in this District, we take the standardisational exams. These decide whether you get to live in the Middle Class District or not, and also which line of career you'll end up with; the most common being factory work. If you do well with hgih grades, you get a better career. Once your career has been decided upon, the government secures you a job in one of the facilities associated with your given career. So if you're given a career in factory work, the government will secude you a job in one of the factories. IF however you actually fail two or more of the standardisation exams, then you'll end up in the Slum Districts. In the slums, there are only small-time shops and stalls, but the government doesn't secure you a job, and crime exists around every corner. Now, the only way you can get into the Nobility Sector is to take the Nobility Exams, but there are only two ways to take the Nobility Exam; the easiest is to be the son or daughter of a Noble. The other option, is for you to get 100% scores on every single standardisation paper. If you do that, then you are given the oppurtunity to take the Nobility Exam papers. In other words, you're a lucky son of a bitch..."
The classroom erupted with immature laughter; the teacher just swore! "Now, the Nobility exam, should any of you be lucky enough to take it, is also done in a similar way. Basically, if you get "average" scores, then you're given a job in the middle class district as a teacher, doctor, law enforcer or lawyer. I for example. am one of these people, and they don't classify as "Nobles". We are instead referred to as "upper class". If you get below average scores however, then you're given a job working in one of the businesses in the Nobility District; obviously you don't get as much money, and you're not given a free house. If however you manage to get above average scores, then you're given a job running one of the businesses in the Middle-Class district as well as a house in the Nobility Sector; a very nice role indeed. If, by some divine miracle, you manage to get 100% on every paper within the Nobility Exams, then you're given a role as a politician aiding the government; nothing beats this honour. Also, nothing beats the salary!" - More laughter. "As you all know, this city is run by Alice Prixei, and so getting a job as a politician by her side could be a great way of potentially taking the reins of the city when she passes on. Anyway, some may call this city corrupt or unfair, but really it's the government that makes the rules. We can either be scummy criminals by breaking those rules, or law-abiding, model citizens by following them."
"Uhm, I have a question..." One of the students stuttered nervously, to which the teacher nodded in response. "Well what about those awesome Apps? I heard that only Nobles can get them which is really stupid..." The teacher smiled lightly before answering. "Well Trickster, it's true that people within the Noble Sector are given an App, but unfortunately there are illegal ways of gaining one regardless of your Class. Apps obviously, are just fancy chip things which you install onto your wrist and it's connected to your wrist and then you just press the App you want to use and focus a new-found energy onto your hand and viola, out pops your fancy app attack. Being an Upper Class Citizen, I didn't frickin' get one." Once again, cue the immature laughter.
The class gazed at the teacher in mild confusion.
"Dismissed."
On top of this, marriage is also decided based on people with like-results. A "Dark Romance" is a term given to relationships formed by two people who weren't set together to be married by the results of the exams.
Powers / Technology
The world doesn't feature "Magic" as such, but as mentioned in my fancy Setting explanation, there are things called Augementational Applications, or "Apps" for short. These are technilogical devices implanted within the user's wrist. Each person can have up to 4 Apps at any one time. Each of the apps are explained below:
Scorch ~ A simple fireball fired from the user's palm to inflict fire damage.
Volt ~ A swift bolt of powerful electricity which damages and stuns enemies.
Shockwave ~ A simple blast of energy which can push heavy objects and enemies.
Nitrogen Jet ~ Fires a jet of liquid nitrogen from the user's palm.
Frost Wave ~ A collection of icey particles launch from the palm, freezing anything they touch.
Concussive Wave ~ A wave of energy that is designed to be aimed at the head to heavily stun an enemy.
Gas Wave ~ A wave of Hydrogen is fired from the user's palm, emitting an extremely flammable gas into the air.
Technilogically, the Roleplay takes place in a somehwat realistic future setting of 2034, in a Japanese city called "Mist", ever suspicious of any and all outsiders who enter its boundaries. Cars hover slightly above the ground, and the city comprises of high-rise skyscrapers and gas-spilling factory facilities, except for in the Slum District which comprises of simple abandoned hotels and bars, where several families share a home. Guns run on electronically-charged sphere-shaped bullets, while the guns themselves look more or less the same as modern weapons. Everything from shotguns to pistols can be found. Cloning technology has reached extreme new levels, with some facilities being formed purely to clone the "perfect human". Cellular research, and bio-chemical engineering have both been mastered by Mist's top scientists. Another thing to know, is that the city is caught in an endless rain shower, which has been caused for reasons unknown. It is important to note, that only Noble characters may start with an "App", while other Classes will gain one at a later point of the Roleplay. Also, there are androids which act mainly as law enforcements and house servants. These Androids are identical with humans and are built to be perfect yet they have one critical flaw...
For anyone who's played Deus Ex 1 and 2, this Roleplay's setting could be sort of compared to that.
If you haven't played Deus Ex, I hope you die a slow and painful death.
