Full Version: Looking for a Bag/Pouch/Sack sprite

Does anyone know where I can find a simple bag, pouch, or a cloth sack sprite to use for events? Something other than the RTP icon, it kind of stands out a little. I think chests are a bit overused and it seems silly that a person would just leave a huge chest behind in the middle of nowhere on the ground.

Go to the resource area and DL one of the icon sets, there are PLENTY of bags/sacks/etc along with every other icon imaginable.

You mean here?

Can't seem to find any, other than the RTP one again. I didn't mean a wide range of sprites/icons for every kind of item imaginable. I meant a generic bag which is going to be used to represent "any" item. (Random loot.)

Alternatively, and maybe you don't want to hear this but it could be good for you, you can make your own rather easily.

Grab a free tool such as GIMP or Graphics Gale or some other ones for art/pixel art. Once you're done grab a reference picture that could be good for the bag type you're wanting to draw. A google image search or better yet a browse through deviant-art would likely yield some good results. Once you have your reference imitate it's shape, design and color and maybe even it's shading.
Tip: If you don't feel comfortable working with a small image to start, try a slightly larger image size and then shrink it once you have the details down.

Using a reference picture this will be easy for anyone, just try not to be critical of your own work. Also have a second reference for the style you want to imitate and take notes of shading, detail, and line art. You'll be surprised at how easy it is.

That was my last resort, actually yes. Like you said, I have trouble drawing really smart sprites to begin with since I'm limited to only so many pixels.

No that isn't where I meant. I meant the Resources Submissions forum.

There are a whole lot of icon packs that have every kind of icon you will EVER need for a game. I know you are just asking for a bag, but way I see it, best have a nice collection saved so if you discover you need another kind of icon, you wont have to be hunting for one, you'll already have it!

Heres some posts that have some very nice icon sets

Bags, Boxes & Cases

If you find a photo of a bag that you want me to do, post me a link to the image and I will give it a go.

Hes asking for icons to use for events, not full size drawings.. Icons are typically 24x24 pixel sized icons, like the ones I linked to.

Stuff like those.

The links I provided have icons of bags, chests, everything you could ever think of needing.
