ok, im using rpg maker vx. im new, so im still learning, and ive encountered a problem. when i set up a event for a battle/scene/etc. i cant seen to remove"even if i use the erase event command" it after it is done, it event will activate after i go to a different area then return where the event was....then the event will start again......what am i doing wrong and how can i fix this?
Alt_Jack
From what I gather, your problem is that you're leaving the map when the event is on, it erases itself, then coming back and it plays again?
That happens anyway. It's normal. All you need is a parallel process switch (not a self-switch) and a condition branch that says "when switch [-----] is ON, erase event" on another event page. Go into the event submissions page and check out my "tester's toolkit". There's a thing there called KillSwitch, which is similar.
Resource Dragon
Either that, or your using autorun. just change it to parallel process.

It's very easy to get an event to delete itself, or have it stop working all together. After you have everything happen in your event (movement, talking, etc) use the "Erase Event" choice or use the "Self Switch" technique. All you have to do for the Self Switch technique, is have a "Self Switch A: ON" at the end of your event, and then create a second page, within the same event, and have it be activated by "player press" and only if Self Switch A is on. Don't put anything on this page, and ta-da, you have a non-working event. I also made a quick little demo for you.

I would suggest playing this.

It will teach you so much in one play through, promise. Its novice friendly, easy to understand and very fun. You need to give it a shot, it will help you.

you dont even have to do that thats wasting a switch that you could use for something even better why not use a self switch since its in the same event

Hmm, I see your point, but it's not really wasting a switch, you have... a lot. The funny thing is that I never realized self switches work only in the event O.o.
lilcooldude69
lol yeh true and thats lol's that u never knew that i just dont like using alot of switches when i do projects cuz they get confusing after a while and i hear using that database unlimiter is bad for a game so i try to limit to how much switches i use when i work on events and stuff
