"Excuse me sir." a flight attendant attempted to awake a sleeping man. " Sir....the plane has landed. We need you to get up. The dark skinned figure got up without hesitance. " Thanks." As the figure began to move around the airport, he received looks of obliviousness or looks of curiosity. When he turned around, he noticed another man turning the other direction. I get the feeling I'm not well-liked here. A limo appeared with a well-dressed lady inside the back, rolling down the window. She nodded to him, and he got in. The man began to listen to her speaking. All he heard was " Killings...." then he lost thought. " Are you listening to me?" She asked. " I'm really not sure. Just tell me where am I stationed and what the case is." " Okay, well, you'll be stationed at the office at Fujiwara Boulevard, and you'll be my assistant."

"Bullshit." The man said, drinking his hot green tea. The lady looked at him, with a smile. " Just kidding. You will be working on the Doctorate Killer case. We've been looking for a killer who killed a Ph.D at a local university. This is what he looks like. The supposed name of his is
Yusuke Daisuke. In 2 days, I will be requesting a national broadcast for him, so try to get him before someone else does."

The man finished his tea. " So, like, is there anyone else coming from outside the country?" The lady looked at him. " Yes, actually. But I'm not sure if they'll be working on the same case as you. I know you've read about the new I.B.I. forming, right?' " The International bureau of Investigation...." " Correct. You and some other detectives will be transferred here due to our....history. Crimes have been on a spike as of late....and our last top crime stopper has left this world." He knew already who she meant. Kira. " Anyway, this is you stop. Here is my number. Pleasure working with you, Mr....?"

The man looked back. " Don't worry about my name, Love." The lady rolled her eyes. " Okay, Mr. Love."

A young boy, one who couldn't possibly be older than 15, stepped out of a small plane. Whammy's House had treated him well for a long, long time, and with his frequent visits to Japan, he was fluent in the language. Before him stood a pair of men in suits, as well as a woman in an even more formal suit.
"R.... we've been ordered to aid you in the Kira case, as part of the KPF's plan." The woman said in a warm, yet stern voice. The boy sighed, scratching his hair irritantly. "Mkay, well those are the orders I suppose. You can all go home to your families now." The three agents looked at the boy in confusion. "With all due respect R; we've been ordered by the higher-ups to catch Kira... we shall do so" One of them men -the one on the left- said to the boy, who answered his comment with a cold glare.
"Bullshit, my friend. Bullshit. You've been ordered to aid me in this case. How can you help? By getting the hell out of here. Clowns like you put on some fancy-ass suit, grease your hair back and follow orders, and suddenly you think you're a genius. Now, you'll all just get in my way. So you can help by just... leaving."

The boy looked around him; some aspects of the world confused him, being that he had never truly experienced it. An organisation called the KPF, meaning "Kira Precaution Force" had been formed following the tragic events of the previous Kira case. Their goal was to create a single super detective, capable of besting several detectives. And so R was chosen; a newborn Japanese baby, who was in perfect condition. His parents also happened to be FBI Agents from America, though his mother was intitially from Japan. R was taken into Whammy's House following the deaths of both his parents by the hands of Kira, and he was locked up and groomed to perfection. His mind was tailored to the needs of the KPF, who were working in conjunction with Whammy's. This all led to the one who they hoped would someday become a new, suitable L, however over time R became highly arrogant, and often demoralized those he worked with. On top of that, he often refused cases that would be too easy.
The Kira case however, was accepted.

The hotel R was set to be staying in had been bought by an anonymous business man; this man was a member of the KPF. Upon reaching the hotel, R did something that he hated but also deemed necessary to stay alert; he slept.

Bumpy, wet and cold the flight to japan was no plesent journy for magnum. The stwerdesses didn't smile and there was turbulence and the person next to him was fat and ordered too many drinks and worst of all the food was terible. It seemed like the goverment couldn't even get first class anymore. Dam you'd think as a member of the incrment youd be alowed first class, but no, aparently your not.

The plane julted to a halt. The obnoctious intercom voice sounded over the planes interior telling them to remain in there seats while the plane docked with the airport. English to japan flights where always a bore.

Magnams time here was to remain secret that ment no limos and no helicopters. What i ment for magnum was a taxi. Which he had to pay for. As part of the SIS (secret intelegece survice) Maganum was fluent in japanese and if it wan't for his skin colour he might be able to pass as one.

The Taxi pulled up out side a 4 star hotel, at least it wan't 3 star. colecting his key card from the front desk, Magnum prceded up the stairs to the third floor, swiping his card acros the panel set into the wall, Although magnum agreed not the best type of securety but it was cool. Lying on the bed was an A4 evelope. Picking it up magnum stided the case photos and nformation inside. He was to investigate the murder of Akane Chinatsu.
I am Kira
Starting from the hour of 9:15 am, twenty seven criminals are killed with a half hour between each death. Each criminal tore off their shirts and carved a word into their chest before slitting their own wrists, and bleeding to death. The words carved onto the chests were as follows:
"Many have failed, none have truly succeeded except the father of Chirst. I shall be the second to succeed, along with the Christian God.
I. Am Kira."
The order of the criminals were also in the correct order to properly spell this sentence. Several hours after the last of the twenty seven criminals was killed, a police officer ran into a civilian-filled street, wearing nothing but his underwear and a grenade in hand.
"Kira is the only God, Kira is the salvation of this rotten world, Kira is our awakening from a doom we have brought upon ourselves, KIRA IS JUSTICE!!" The man roared, startling hundreds of civilians around him. The officer was then shot by another officer, who then brought the grenade to an abandoned warehouse where he himself used the grenade to commit suicide.

"The Deathnote's abilities are far beyond what I thought...... the testing has been a success. Rest in the fiery grips of hell, you criminal vermin." Kira laughed wildly, sitting at his lamp-lit desk.

[Begin L theme]

A young man leant over the screen of a small box television. The media had been hit hard by a recent kira attack; he had intensively watched the entire ordeal.
"How barbaric." He muttered to himself contently. He shuffled the knees he rested on and tugged at the lime scarf that covered the bottom half of his face. His thick, cloudy glasses reflected the carnage of the news back onto itself; behind them, his eyes jittered rapidly from one image to another, scouring for clues.
"Sister." he called, barely louder than before.
A figure emerged from the shadowed recesses at the back of the small hotel room. She picked idly at grapes and dropped them into her mouth, chewed them throughly and then swallowed.
"Yes, Charlie?" she replied, much softer and more caring than he had spoke, though their faces were barely indistinguishable.
"Please call me Chase, you never know who's listening, Sister." he responded with a hint of agitation.
She paced over to the foot of one of the two beds and leant over Charlie.
"Ok, 'Chase', but I hardly see how your forename will give away your identity."
"True, but we have to ease into the habit somehow, Trace."
"That sounds so forced." Trace replied, "Now what was it you wanted."

He shrugged then returned to the television, which flashed cold light around the room, "Have you seen this? The message was completed."
She almost danced as she stepped down to his level and crossed her legs, she examined the TV.
Almost exactly twelve seconds later she stood up and returned to eating grapes
"How barbaric" she muttered contently.
"That's what I said." Chase replied.
The two of them stopped and looked at each other enthusiastically.
"Great minds think alike!" they chanted in unison, then laughed briefly and returned to there little tasks.

[OOC: This post contains a piece of information that reveals Ryuk's father wink.gif Sparrow is the only one who could understand it though: I said already that his parents were both FBI Agents, and now I've revealed that his father was killed in the second Kira case, ie. the first Chapter. Also, I've said that he died from a heart-attack. So Sparrow? Who is it? biggrin.gif ]

R frowned at his TV screen.
"The likeliness of other detectives getting involved in this case is extremely high, after all it's happened in the past. Still..... Kira shall fall by my hand. He will PAY for murdering my father in the second Kira case..... that heart-attack was no coincidence: It was Kira, it HAD to be Kira." He wandered around his room, unsure of exactly what he could work out. The only thing I know at the moment, is that Kira is extremely arrogant, and wants to make an impact.... Not much to go on. R checked his watch; 10:43 PM.
"What can I do at this time? I've already slept today, but it's getting late, I can't afford to let a lack of sleep affect me."
Sparrowsmith
[OoC My best bet would be -blank- as I believe they were the only person to die of heart attack. It seems odd you would choose -blank- but it does make for a nice plot point wink.gif
Actually. Three people died of heart attack, I can't be bothered to check which of them worked for the FBI, but I'm pretty sure I've pegged who it is.
However, will they be any match for the amazing C&T duo? I doubt it cool.gif They literally run on detective sauce]

Chase continued to crouch over the television. His shadow made unintentional puppets against the wall, as he methodically; obsessively scribbled onto pieces of paper then crumpled them and threw them back towards Trace.
Trace stood with a smaller than average tennis racket. She rhythmically patted the paper ball straight into the bin on the adjacent side of the room. occasionally one of the scraps of paper would miss my a small fraction. Every few minuted Trace would open up the rejected scraps and read them. She had found that when Chase hesitated while crumpling a piece of paper, it usually meant that it contained useful information, and that he had only crumpled it out of habit. It's also possible that he was well aware of Trace's system and just resolved that by making the system a binary operation they worked faster.
Either way, eventually Trace flicked through the abandoned notes and found something useful.
"Chase." She said, "You've written here that none of the deaths seemed failed in anyway."
"Yes" he replied, unsure if he actually remembered writing it.
"The deaths were clearly quite intricate and well thought out. For Kira to use the death note so effectively on the first usage, he must of had prior knowledge of the rules, or at least be incredibly good at deducing and thinking logically."
Chase nodded.
"So you think we're looking for someone with an IQ above 160?" He asked
"If not higher." she responded.
"That certainly narrows down the search a bit, well done, sister."

Trace had to interrupt Chase as he nearly returned to the television.
"There is the single problem that Kira may have used the note before."
"This is true." C replied, "Search for heart attacks that coincide with extravagant deaths, I'm sure Kira websites will contain some. I will turn my attention to previous cases, see if I can't spot a pattern."
The two of them nodded and pulled laptops from locations barely an arms reach away, they had picked there positions carefully.

[OoC Fear their deductive powers]
I am Kira
Perhaps you have deduced a minor fragment of my past as Kira, Mr. Sam Arrowsmith? Who knows, who cares? Soon you shall die.

At 10:59pm, a pair of criminals simultaneously die of heart attacks on different rails of the same train station. Their bodies are left in tatters by a pair of rampaging trains, the drivers of which had both headbutted the walls on the trains' interiors until they died.

Kira laughed savagely after the deaths occured and visited over fifty different Kira websites. "The revolution is upon us.... and so shall two rivalling armies emerge: those fighting with the revolution, and those that must die. The ignorant, evil and lazy shall all face extermination!"

[OOC: This is very strange o.O It seems as if Kira is trying to make me look innocent by killing soon after R supposedly went to bed. But that just makes me look more suspicious.. dry.gif Also Sparrow, why did you call him blank? tongue.gif It was "W"...]
Sparrowsmith
[ohmy.gif kira said my name... That's worrying. Well at least my picture isn't on the sit~ oh yes it is.
Well shit.
I called him blank so that, no matter what you said, I would be right cool.gif oh and yes, Kira is behaving very strangely indeed blink.gif ]

[OOC: Bah, what happened to all the people that signed up??? Where are they gone? unsure.gif
Anyway Sparrow, T & C aren't the only ones that can deduce cool.gif ]

R shifted about in his bed, before suddenly shooting up to a sitting position.
"Wait a second....... why did Kira not make the police officer detonate the grenade in the crowd? And also, the officer that commited suicide with the grenade: why did he do it in such a secluded location? And then the trains, the TRAINS..... why did he need to kill the drivers and the victims? Why not just have the train drivers kill the victims? It seems to me, like even the Deathnote can't make someone kill another person, unless that other person is also due to die from the Deathnote." R bit his lower lip. "This could be useful in the future." Ryuk threw on his usual suit, and snuck out of the hotel, scurrying through the streets of the city. His little walk didn't get him anywhere important, however he was mugged by a pair of savage men, and left unconscious in a gutter, waking up severel hours later. Disorientated, he began his return to the hotel.
I am Kira
9:16 AM

TV's across Japan flashed black, with a white K at the centre. The audio was as follow:
This is Kira, my dear fellow humans. Some may have taken note of my recent killings, I assure you that they have purpose. Perhaps my next performance shall reveal more to you. I have a message which only the geniuses of the country will realise, these geniuses are the only ones worthy of chasing me. And perhaps someone smart enough to see the message will even be a supporter of mine? Well... here is my information: anyone who is able to interpret this message, is to associate my message with a certain type of building. Maybe a police station or hospital? Time will tell. But that building is where I can be found.... The message ended with a breaking news update, stating that a musical band comprising of six members, had all been killed off: all six died due to heart-attacks at the exact same time.
Trickster
[OOC: I have a theory on Kira's message o.O It's surprisingly obvious after thinking about it for a few minutes tongue.gif Just look at the number of people killed in each sequence, there's a pattern. Impressive work Kira, I have to say biggrin.gif But come one guys, start posting >.< At this rate, if Kira kills me then he instantly wins!]

ooc: all i got was a time... 5:33- 27, 2, 6. Zabf .. tthey just sound like nonsence though.

Magnam had been watching TV untill late looking for any news on Kira untill a hotel steward knocked on his door. Magnum politly opened it. "yes" he mumered waryily
"a man informed me to tell you that breakfast has been moved to tuesday... er... if that means anything"
"ummm thank you thats all" so Magnum had been moved to the kira case, the incrment knew about a lot of the orgisations involving kira the C.I.A., F.B.I. hell even M.I.6 and the incrment had been racing to solve a few kira investigations. Returing to his room just in time to catch the Kira tv braudcast. "well... time to put my good mind to work." If logic worked and Magnum hoped it did the K.P.F. would be first on the scene. He was going to need to meet up with the other investigaters. It worked before it might work again, and it might call Kira to me...
its a risk worth taking ill see if i can get in contact without gong public first, that would mean finding this building kira spoke of.
magnum donned his over coat, slotted his usp into his holster and wrapped his scarlet sacaf around his face. you never can be too careful. there are many hospitals and and police stations in tokyo. or maybe it would be better to see what information he had on the kira investigations already around. putting on his sunglasses Magnum thaught time to get to work.
Ryuga
OOC: I hope no one minds if I establish our "cafe" for this chapter.
Also, Jin's theme since everyone's doing it.

IC: I also have my own theory on what Kira is trying to convey, although it has nothing to do with numbers.

A sharply dressed man bowed to the driver and gave thanks before shuting the door. Not hard enough for it to be a slam, but firm enough that it would shut. Certainly a man famiular with the customs of Japan. He walked along the pavement, straight in posture, breifcase in hand, looking like he was ready for business. Rather than make his way to the main floor of the building, he made his way to the basement level, towards a bar. The sign in front labelling it "The Lucky Clover."

The bartender, a women in her mid-thirties worked behind the counter, polishing a wine glass. She immediately ceased her work as she recognized the man who descended the steps and entered.
"My if it isn't Hojo Toru" she remarked as the man sat himself down. "What brings you back to this country?"
"I've since adopted another alias Ms. Yuriko," replied the former Hojo Toru, a stern look on his face. "From now on refer to me as Jin Nakada."
The bartender chuckled, to which Jin couldn't help but crack a smile himself.
"Back to what I was asking, why did you return?" asked Yuriko as she poured Jin a drink instinctively. "Let-me-guess... the Kira case?"
"Sharp as ever. Nothing escapes you Yuriko. A worthy case for an investigator as fine as myself."
"I see you havn't lost that egotistical attitude." Jin ignored the comment fetching his laptop computer from his briefcase, streaming the latest Kira message. "Figure out the building of which Kira speaks of Mr. Super detective," she continued.
"I have a theory already," replied Jin, turning back to Yuriko. "Of course, I don't plan to just waltz in by myself. Even a star-detective will require the company of other detectives as an insurance policy."
"Oh? And where are you going to find these other detectives?"
Jin chuckled. "I've already advertised this spot. I'm sure you won't mind. It's good for business afterall."
Yuriko frowned. "You're a twisted individual, you know that? Trying to replicate the conditions from the Kira case seven years ago."

Magnum had been searching through news papers for anyhospitlas in the imediate region, next he would work on the police stations. To Magnum the latter seemed much more likly seeing as two police officers had killed themselfs thanks to kira. when Magnum got to his dead drop site. He wan't to use his pager anymore or a phone untill they set up a secure line the deaddrop was the main form of communication, all coded of corce. He rifeled through the first few sheets of paper, most of it was junk an eye witniss acount here and a confession there. But on the last sheet a piece of information caught his eye, it seems the increment had been contacted by an unknown organization, any detectivs with a theroy on the kira case to the "lucky clover" the paper hadn't included an adress. So it seemed as though they we had to prove ourselvs, even if it wasn'y much, by finding it.

[OOC: Fear my deductive talents cool.gif When I actually go to sleep before 4am, I have the ability to think straight tongue.gif I even managed to throw in a Dragonball Z Abridged series reference into this post. Ryuk's New Theme Song... What can I say? I'm indecisive]

Ryuk examined Kira's message thoroughly, as well as the murders he commited. He thought deeply on them all for quite a while, before coming to a conclusion that seemed all-too obvious.
"First, he pulled that wild stunt with the twenty-seven criminals whose deaths were used to convey an arrogant message. After that however, he killed two police men: the guy with the grenade who was shot by a fellow police officer, and the one that shot him before commiting suicide with the grenade. THEN, he killed four people in that train stunt: the guy's on the tracks, and the train drivers. And his most recent killing, was the killing of six people. Two, four, six: they're all even numbers. This has to mean something, something to do with the word "even" perhaps? Or, maybe it's the fact that he's counting up in twos? Two... four... six... the first letter of each is "TFS"... Team Four Star? N-no... I'd say it's more likely something to do with the word even. Only time will tell I suppose....."

A well-known news broadcaster died of a heart-attack on live TV. His last words were:
If I'm buried... He then collapsed dead, and the broadcast was cancelled. Rumours had emerge several months ago that the broadcaster was in fact guilty of supplying child pornography to an illegal website, however the accusations were never proven.

(OoC: What's with the theme songs? >.>; Guess I'll do one too then. Slave EDIT: I missed Ryuga's post, which is why I ended up going to the hotel first. I fixed it in my next post though. Sorry Ruyga.)

A man was sitting at his desk in the main branch office of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police, mulling over something, when a young woman approached him. "Sir, the Chief wants to speak with you," she said. He didn't respond at first so she tapped him on his shoulder. He was startled out of his thoughts, making her jump in the process.
He turned to her. "Ah, Hirasawa-san, you startled me," he replied and they shared a laugh together. "What was it you wanted?"
"The Chief wants to speak with you."
The man nodded his thanks and went into the Chief's office. "You wanted to see me, Sir?" he asked.
The Chief leaned back in his chair with a thoughtful look on his face. "As you know, we've lost two officers recently and the people are blaming it on Kira. It seems like it's starting up again and we need to take more stringent efforts to prevent it from getting out of hand."
"What do you suggest?"
"I want you to join the Kira Investigation."
The detective was surprised. "Me, Sir? Are you sure?"
"Yes, you're the obvious choice given your track record. I know you'll do us proud." The Chief smiled. "Lightning-kun."
"Ah, you're still calling me that?" Lightning asked and scratched the back of his head embarrassedly.
"Previous investigations have revealed that Kira can kill by knowing a name and face. How do you feel about Lightning being your codename?"
"I accept it. Thank you, Chief." Lightning bowed his head and turned to leave.
"A car will be waiting for you outside to take you to the Sunlite Shinjuku Hotel which will be the meeting place for the investigation." Lightning nodded and left.
Hirasawa approached him as he was leaving. "Ama-" she began but he cut her off.
"It's Lightning now," he said with a gentle smile. "I've been reassigned to the Kira case."
She put her hands over her mouth in shock. "Surely you don't mean it, Ama- I mean, Lightning-san."
"Someone has to do something. The Chief picked me. Don't worry about me, Hirasawa-san, I'll be back before you know it." He bent and kissed her cheek before leaving the building without looking back. He saw the car the Chief had mentioned and got inside. "Let's go." The car pulled away from the curb and headed towards the hotel.
Kisuke Urahara
ooc: i think Ryuga has already established a meeting point for the investigation at the "Lucky Clover" but this one sounds nore likly to be a better meeting point, anyway why can't we have two.

Returning to the dead drop for the afternoon another meeting place had been given. "Lets see, the sunlight hotel, thats not too far from here."
setting off at a brisk walk, Magnum turned a corner and came up to "the sunlight hotel"
swish Magnum pushed open the door and strided up to the front desk. "i am here for the kira investigation."
"im sorry sir, youll have to wait until another agent arrives. for security you understand."
"Thats fine"
dam i was hoping to get a headstart on some of the other agents but it looks like ill have to wait.
Satou Asahira
(Oh crap. I missed his post where he said that. I'll fix it.)

Lightning exited the car and it drove off. He wiped his glasses on his shirt before walking inside. He approached the front desk, looking at the residents of the lobby to see if he could spot any other investigators. He saw one other man he pegged as another detective, but that was it. "I'm here for the Kira meeting."
"Ah yes, there's-" The phone on the desk cut the receptionist off. "Hello," he answered. "Yes. There are two. I understand. I'll let them know." He hung up the phone and turned to Lightning. "It seems there has been a slight misunderstanding. You and the other detective are to proceed to a nearby bar named 'The Lucky Clover'. A car is waiting for you outside to take you there. That's the other detective there." He pointed to Magnum.
Lightning bowed to the receptionist then walked to Magnum. "Seems like the meeting is being held somewhere else. There's a car waiting to take us there." He walked outside and stepped into the car.
Kisuke Urahara
Magnum smiled, not that this other detective could see, Magnums scarf saw to that.
trust my luck to get a mix up, ill see that the increment has better informants next time im given an assignment, then again what if this wan't a mix up. Just a way to send some of the investigators the long way round.
"oh well. I've been trying to find the clover for a while now, looks like it came to me." Magnum opened the other door and climbed in next to lighting. "So we've both been assigned to the kira case. Magnum is my deep cover name, whats yours?"
Satou Asahira
"Call me Lightning," Lightning said to Magnum then laughed a little. "It's an old nickname from my rookie days as a cop. You look foreign, but you speak our language well. You'll have to let me buy you a drink when we get there to welcome you to our country, Magnum-san." He had to remind himself not to ask questions about where Magnum was from. It was probably classified.
The car stopped in front of a building. "The bar is in the basement," the driver informed them. "There is a side entrance that leads directly into it."
"Thank you," Lightning said and exited the car. He descended the stairs on the side of the building to find a door labeled "The Lucky Clover". "Guess this is it," he said to himself and opened the door. There was no one there save the bartender and only one customer. "Is this the meeting place for the Kira Investigation?" he asked hesitantly.
Trickster
[I think I have this in the bag cool.gif Although..... Are there even any morgues nearby? I suppose it'd be up to Kira or TaFresh to decide ermm.gif ]

R grinned at the T.V. in the room, having finally come to a likely conclusion. [i]Two, four, six.... All even numbers. "If I'm buried", the last words of that broadcaster. It's obvious... "Even if I'm buried", is the meaning behind the killings. Which means.... the building we're looking for is associated with the dead, or buriels, meaning it's probably a church, or even a morgue. If that's the case...[/b]" Ryuk grabbed his coat, and began his depart for the city streets below his top-floor room of the KPF-owned hotel.
Ryuga
OOC: Well darn Trickster. You beat me to it. Although the sextet dying was what really tipped me off to the location. You'll get to hear Jin's reasoning later.

"Why yes it is. Glad you could make it," replied the lone customer. "Please, have a seat, order a drink if you like."
The bartender placed her hands on her hips, pouting, as if to say "Hey! I'm the one running this place!"
The customer ignored her, taking another sip from his glass. He addressed the other two investigators as soon as they had made themselves confortable.
"Well, I suppose introductions are in order. While my real name will remain confidential for this case, you may refer to me as Jin Nakeda. I assume you all have alias' for yourselves."
He paused to let the others introduce themselves.
"Well then, now that that's out of the way, let's get down to buisness. As you should all know, Kira has given us various hints to a building he may be located in. I would like to hear each of your theories to what Kira is refering to."
Kisuke Urahara
"certainly Jin, You can call me Magnum, i will not reveal my real name just in case one of you good looking gentleman is kira, which i highly doubt, but you never can be too careful. During kira's first killings he said that no one had been more successful than the father of Christ: The Christian 'god'. this makes me think that he has at the very least a past in the Christian faith. With his second killings, with the police officers, Kira said that kira is the only god, another reference i believe to faith. Maybe he had a bad past with Christianity, who knows. But in his next message he says time will tell, a clock maybe? And finally 'if im burred' a place for the dead.
I believe that kira may be in a Christian church with a grave-yard. The clock may be irreverent but definitely the dead will be a strong factor to this case." Magnum walked over to the bar "how about that drink while i hear your theory lighting, or Jin how about ill get one for you while i hear your theory?"
Ryuga
Jin nodded as he listened. "It seems we are all on the same page," he remarked signalling the bartender to pour the two a drink. The bartender frowned, but proceeded to do so anyway. "I certainly overlooked the possiblity of a clock regarding Kira's message. That narrows down the possible locations."
Jin typed a few things on his laptop before turning back to the detectives. Talking as he typed.
"It is indeed as you say Magnum. We can infer from Kira's first two killings he has some sort of relationship with Christianity. His fifth killing almost certainly indicates a grave or burial sight. His fourth, with the killing of the sextet, also gave us another clue. Ever hear of the band 'White Chapel?'" Jin took a sip of his drink before he continued. "Unfortunately, the third killings, the railroad killings, is the one that puzzles me. Even I cannot find any meaningful clues. Any thoughts on that one?" Jin set his drink down. "Before you answer, I'll just wrap up my points. We are looking for a white church-building with a clock, and within close proximity to a burial sight. The address containing the numbers two, four, six, and/or one. Of course, the building may not follow all of these critieria." Jin turned his laptop to the detectives for the to see. Displayed on the monitor was a map of the region. Each church institution was marked by a coloured dot. "I've marked all locations with one or more of the following traits. The darker the dot, the more matching traits the church has, as well as the increased possiblity of finding Kira.
I am Kira
A serial rapist who had been on the run, is killed by the effects of a heart-attack. Before dying, he runs into a Police Station and says the following words:
In the shadow of insanity, does my resting place shine. Ever bright to see outside, yet ever dark for those inside. Those outside are mourning deeply, those inside are silent, silent now and silent forever. This occurred at 3:52 PM.
Satou Asahira
Lightning remained silent while Magnum and Jin talked to each other. He had pretty much the same line of reasoning as they did, only they had refined it even further. He looked forward to working with these two.
Just then, his phone rang. He flipped it open and answered. "Hello? What?! I see...He's certainly been busy lately, hasn't he? Yes, I'm with two of them now. Of course. Goodbye." He hung up and turned to the two detectives. "Seems we're on the right track. Another victim died of a heart attack, but not before visiting the local police and leaving this message: 'In the shadow of insanity, does my resting place shine. Ever bright to see outside, yet ever dark for those inside. Those outside are mourning deeply, those inside are silent, silent now and silent forever.'" He paused and thought for a moment. "'In the shadow of insanity...A building next to a mental health facility maybe? See if there are any churches with graveyards near one of those."
Ryuga
Jin made the search at Lightning's request. "The more parameters we add to the search, the more locations we get that don't fit all the hints," he mentioned as he revealed the next set of results. "But I really don't think that hint has anything to do with a mental institute. It sounds more like a riddle. The answer to which I come up with his a coffin. Perhaps a site where a funeral is being held, or recently been held?"
Again, Jin crossed referenced sources updating his map again.
"Well, I think we've speculated long enough," he said, closing his laptop and standing up. "I'm going to investigate some of the sites. I would like it if you two would join me. Investigating together will make this process faster. Not to mention this way, we have a check system in place in the case one of us dies."
Kisuke Urahara
"of course" Magnum magnum pulled his scarf tighter around his face. "It would be an honour Mr Nakeda, this new killing may be what gives us the real whereabouts of kira. A coffin? that seems like it has a high probability to be correct, and that also leads us towards a beruial ground. In the shadow of insanity. perhaps this place is really inside a mental institution, i doubt this theory but you should always keep in mind any theory until it has been disproved, and even then don't let it slip away."
Magnum stood
"are you coming lightining?"
Trickster
A shady looking man stepped out of the corner of the bar where the three detectives had been speaking, and whispered into his jacket collar.
"Excellent..." R said to himself. "I see my suggestion of having agents set-up in some of the major local bars and cafés has been successful." Ryuk finished the diagram he had been drawing on the wall of his room, and threw on his formal suit, before departing to a pub called the "Lucky Clover". "I usually don't like working with others, but... It'll be interesting to hear some other theories."
Trickster
[OOC: Kisuke, R isn't in the corner he's just on his way. It's a KPF agent in the corner, reporting his info to Ryuk. I don't like using agents or anything like that, but I had to in order for Ryuk to meet the other detectives...]
Ryuga
"I never dismiss possiblities. But a single line in a riddle isn't sufficient to give this theory any weight. I've place it under lower priority than the other clues we've gathered so far, but in no way have I ruled it out."
Jin pulled out a few bills to pay for the drinks, placing it on the counter. "Well then, shall we?"
Jin made his way out of the bar and out onto the streets. He knew Magnum was behind him, and if Lightning was coming, he could also follow. A car was parked by the curb, as Jin had arranged. He opened the door and gestured for the other detectives to enter first:
"Our first location will be St. Mary's across town. If you think you've found any more clues in the messages Kira has been leaving, please share them on the way."
Kisuke Urahara
ooc: got rid of the paot i made sorry about thsat mistke.
Satou Asahira
Lightning followed the other two out the door. "I know St. Mary's," he said as he walked. "A friend of mine used to attend service there. As for clues, I can't think of any more at this moment but know that I have the entire Tokyo Metropolitan Police Force right here." He held up his cell phone. "They'll update me as soon as they find something." He stepped into the car.
Ryuga
Jin nodded as the two detectives entered before finally entering himself. The driver pressed the pedal and they were off.
"If you can mobilize some police, I suggest you do so, Lightning," said Jin as he passed his laptop to the detective. "We can save time we can get multiple investigations at once. Have them investigate the darker spots first."
Kisuke Urahara
"if they do find kira they will be in danger, suggest to them to keep their face covered, and to keep in full gear."
Magnum was still mulling over kiras killings.
" i can still find no meaning in kiras train killings. That is one of his killings that seem illogical to me, do you two have any theorys?"
Ryuga
"Indeed Magnum. The train killings, I hate to admit, leave me stumped. I have, however, thought of two different explanations. One: The killings before Kira formerly stated he would give us hints were to test his killing methods. Deaths before the sextet killings reveal no clues whatsoever. Two: The positioning of the bodies and tracks conveys a hidden meaning. Unfortunately, I don't have a reference to the crime scene so I have no idea how it may look." Jin turned to Lightning. "That's right, you have connections with the police. Perhaps you could get us the data on the crime scene?"
Just then the car pulled up at the church. "Well, here we are," he remarked as he put on a cold-mask. "Make sure to question everyone on premise, and make sure no one sees your face."
I am Kira
It's all coming together. And no I'm not cheating, I have earned a legitamate reason for knowing of your location. Sayonara, detectives.

Upon entry, the detectives were met with roughly fifteen puzzled faces; these were obviously the faces of people who had come to equal conclusions. Just then, a voice echoed and thundered from everywhere in the room.
Hello, my friends. This is Kira. I assure you that I am currently in this room, though for my own safety, I have created this pre-recorded message which is playing from four corners in this room. I would like you all to know something: I have a magical form of eye-power that lets me see a person's name simply by looking at them; the truth is, masks cannot protecte you; your identity is your identity, a mask cannot change that. Now for the most important part of this message: Three people should have walked into the room just now, and they are probably wearing masks. I am looking for an apprentice, so the one who is capable of killing them will be granted this role. But also, if someone decides to kill everyone else in the room so that they are the only one alive... Well, that person shall earn themselves a place by my side, as God of a beautiful new generation. Fare thee well. The people once again turned their attentions back to the three detectives.
Get them!! One roared, and so the rest of the flock followed in an attempt to lead the investigators to an early death.
Trickster
Ryuk observed the car in which the detectives drove away in. He then spoke into his collar, which contained a two-form device; it could be used as a message transmitter which is heard by other KPF Agents, or as a recording device. Using the latter function, he recorded the Number Plate of the car, before talking to the agent who had been in the Lucky Clover.
"What conclusions have they come to? Do they have any major theories?" The agent explained the investigators' theories, to which R could only grin. "This is impressive.... Even I had not considered a location, though I suppose three heads is better than one so it's understandable that they pick out a location so fast. St. Mary's eh? I guess that's my destination then..." Ryuk began strolling casually towards the church, such a long trip would take a while but Ryuk always loved to walk whenever he could. And also, he didn't want to seem suspicious by being driven in a fancy car, with a fancy driver to an average church. He pulled his fedora down so that it over-shadowed his face, and stuck up the collar of his coat so that his face was as hidden as possible.
Kisuke Urahara
Magnum pushed the other two detectives behind of him him. And drew the USP45 from it's holster and fired a shot just past the closest officer's ear.
Kira can't be one of my colleges otherwise he's just condemned himself to death
ooc: if I'm wrong, Lord take me now. If im right biggrin.gif but i'll probably die anyway.
"Guys if you've got weapons i suggest you get them out now." turning back to the horde that was still advancing, but more cautiously now.
"one more step and you'll die anyone."
I am Kira
While some of the Kira supporters hesitated at the sight of a gun, one of them stepped forward to rally the crowd.
Oh the irony, my God-loving friends! Don't you see? They plan to arrest or even kill our lord Kira for breaking the law, yet by drawing a gun here, they themselves are breaking the law! Such hypocritical scum mustn't be allowed to live. And also... there are only three of them! They can't shoot us all, they can only run and so we shall follow!!With a sudden surge of new-found inspiration, the crowd continued their assault, picking up candles and chairs which they prepared use as weapons.
Ryuga
Jin pulled out a handgun of his own a shot the supporter who spoke up. "We're all hypocrites. Your god is no exception." As the supporters stood shocked for a moment he turned to his associates. "Hurry back to the car, and get ready to bail. If these guys get too close, leave without me. And get the police down here. Go!" Jin pointed to the door with his head, and the two detectives ran off.
Jin fired a few more shots, aiming for the knees of the supporters before running out of the building himself, occasionally turning around to shoot at the nearest pursuer.

Truth had went to the Sakura broadcasting station. Promising the Director, his views would sky rocket. Only the symbol of an eye could be seen on the television.

"The first killings were very mysterious, I could only assume that Kira was testing the capabilities of his powers. His next target was the news. Any publicity is good publicity. The first attempt of killings were not only for testing the capabilities of his powers, but attention. My theory is correct since after he went for the news. This Kira is foolish, I mean come on.. eventually on the way he's going to slip and make a mistake. I am glad of this actually, makes my job easier. So Kira, I gave you what you wanted. Now you wish to be at even odds? Or do you want me to beat you just as I am now?"

The vocals were mixed with a voice synchronizer
Kisuke Urahara
Magnum followed lin's example before kicking down the door backwards
"Havn't you heard of a licence to kill!?"
magnum boted over to the nearest car and smashed the window.
"cover me!"
Pulling down the dash board behind the wheel magnum searched franticly for the right wires,
stupid japanese cars, too complex for there own good
"YES!"
he found them now he had get the car to start. The crowd was edging closer despite lins asstance
"cumon cumon"

Ryuk had reaced the church, but already an interesting development had occurred.
"It seems Kira was expecting us to arrive... Interesting." Ryuk hugged against a wall, biting his bottom lip and squinting his eyes as he tried tp stop himself from laughing at the naive detectives. "They came here for a reason: they believed that this was the building where Kira and his supporters would be. So they just go and expect to walk in and shake hands with some of these mad men? Pfft! I wouldn't be surprised if there criminals in that crowd, trying to get close to Kira so that they can kill him to prevent the deaths of members of their gangs or organizations. These are detectives, they should have thought further ahead. I need the aid of detectives to catch Kira, but I need good detectives, competant detectives. Not a bunch of goons like this lot." Ryuk casually walked away from the scene, drawing a pen and notepad to write down notes on where the detectives had failed: mainly, they failed to think ahead. If they had done-so, they would have realised that "It's a trap!" Ryuk referenced Raito Yagami in his notes, since he was an expert on the original case, having read through everything there was to read through several times. That's was also the origin of his name; a Shinigami called Ryuk.

C&T marched down the street in specially made yellow and green trench coats, they were unmistakably drawing attention; they looked ridiculous. Still they marched on, T with her blonde hair in a tight band at the back and C with his scarf wrapped tightly around his face. Both of them stared confidently from behind their custom-made sunglasses.
"Operation Broadway musical is a go." T whispered as they approached their destination.
In front of them they heard gunshots, and were positive they were in the correct place. They saw several people running towards a car, their assumptions had therefore been correct.

They were beginning to attract attention from the crowd of supporters when Chase ran forward and pointed at a man in the crowd.
"You!" he blared out above the ruckus, keeping his finger sternly pointed at the man. "K~"
He coughed blood into his hands and collapsed to the floor. T ran over, perfectly performed.
"Terrence!" She grabbed him as he fell, "Brother!"
C began scrawling on the floor in his blood
K I R A
He wrote in a slow a manner as he could, and then fell finally, with his arm still pointed at the man.
T burst into tears and stormed over to the man, "You know what I have to say to you?!" she demanded, grabbing him by the collar.
By this point attention was focused on Kira's latest victim, and the crowd huddled to the defense of the alleged Kira, who was baffled.
"Psych"
She turned on her heels, as C leapt up off of the floor and sprayed the crowd with a mixture of corn syrup and red food dye. Before waiting for a response he also turned heel and ran.
C caught up to T and panted, "Let's hope that buys them some time. Why weren't they expecting a trap, I thought it would be obvious."

[OoC For the record, it was obvious sweat.gif ha Tricky, it appears C&T are slightly more sympathetic than R wink.gif]
Trickster
[OOC: Meh, if they didn't expect a trap then they should suffer the consequences. However, I suppose I should thank you for saving them, since if they died, then it'd just be us, and I'm not able to contact C and T, at least not easily so... It's easier this way tongue.gif ]

Ryuk saw the simple trick pulled by the blonde pair.
"Terrence..?" Ryuk whispered to himself. It didn't exactly sound like an alias, but Ryuk got the feeling that these were detectives; Clearly, they had planned this rescue, but why go to all the trouble of rescueing a bunch of detectives? Obviously they have to be a pair of civilians who hate Kira, or a pair of detectives. Understandably, Ryuk took it as the latter and began tailing the pair, frequently hiding behind walls and other large objects to avoid being spotted, while also discreitly looking around him to make sure nobody else is watching him so that he doesn't look like an idiot. "These two could be interesting..." he whispered to himself.
Sparrowsmith
Finally breaking away from the commotion, the siblings sat down in an alleyway.
"Perfect." T said, easing easily into a more calculative tone.
"We know that Kira laid a trap, and this confirms our suspicions about his killing methods." C continued
"Indeed. What a useful way to bend the rules."
"Quiet. That information was expensive, we should try not to share it with everybody." C snapped politely.
"You're too edgy, Chase, I doubt anyone can hear us."
"Then why are you using my code name, sister?"
The two of them stood up and walked out of the alley.
"If we are being tailed." T said hypothetically, "And this isn't just you being paranoid, then perhaps we should execute a stratagem."
"Manhattan Motor or the Practice Pilot?"
"Practice Pilot, it's much more discreet. Wait for confirmation."

[OoC Oh yes, all of these codes mean things which only I know cool.gif ]
