the two sided disaster Rp

My plan for the RP's disaster was originally going to be one of the cleche volcano or tsunami disasters. Then i put up my RP ideas topic and ive decided to take Satou Asahira's advice to make it

So iv'e decided to make this RP small scale, maybe a small to large town in deserted area. The disaster i was planing for the RP will be a flood with two teams of Rpers rescuers, and people trying to survive in a rapidly flooding environment. Dark blade suggested a GM to constantly tell the players what resources are available to them and what challenges they may face

what i would like is to get some feedback on the Rp and to get a few ideas for the storyline

that's all i really have so far that's why i posted tihs topic for help and advice on getting this RP up.
Any guidance will be much appreciated so thank you in advance

is one possible scenario

Ideas:
two sided RP: (cliche example) people trapped in a collapsed mine with flammable and toxis gases seeping in. One side of RPers must avoid dying in the mines, the other half has to find a way to save them from the outside.
Basically a rescue team and a group of victims. This could be done with a town flooding and the rescue team out of town

DANGER DANGER HIGH VOLTAGE: A small town is hit by a freak, powerful, almost conscious storm that just kinda blasts everything. (play the song in your head for extra awesome points) and the goal is to run from one place to another trying not to get killed and maybe the place is flooding too...

Cruise control for surfing: Super hurricane at sea equals cruise ship being tossed around like a dirty sock in a washing machine

The Flood: Global warming has arrived *yaaaay* and it has essentially left every town fending for itself. One particular town is going to flood... In epic proportions.... We're talking Noah's Ark style flooding. Forty days and nights of rain until the only things left alive are speed boats
Looting, survival, pirates, escaped animals from the zoo, the second coming of jesus
etc etc

If it's called the rain, would it not be an idea to have something to do with a rain?

I dont know if any of you have watched 'Hard rain'?
That sounds like a good idea to me.
A town caught in a high flood in the middle of the night.
Dangers are all around, such as electric cables broken and dangling above the water...
Perhaps some bad guys who want something, and good guys who just want to protect everyone else?
This RP could have a lot of dynamics.

yeah i kind of got the idea for a flood from a gegrophy project from before the holidays. a town in england. i don't remember the name. It had two rivers that quickly reverted to its orginal corse and flooded the entire twon dystoring buildings in the proces

right im going to put up the rp soon now that school is back on

people have less time but everyones back from holiday

oh and one more thing id like to hear what people think about the game master idea

Well, as for the game master, they need to be awesome at describing locations and the tools in the surrounding area.

If they were to describe a location and its tools too obviously, it would be to easy for characters to 'Macguyver' a 'game breaker' together in no time, if you know what I mean.
But not too difficult that it looks like everyone is going to die.

So basically, we need a RPer that can describe locations well enough to hint at useful objects in various spots for this role.
I'd rather not want everyone trying to be a hero though, more like a resourceful person that might have an idea what to do in one situation, but be dumbfounded in another.
Example:
"Ok guys, this house is filling with water pretty fast! Everyone open a window!"
"OH MY GOD! A tree is blocking the path! We're doomed!"
Kind of like that.


Also, I hope some people are nice enough to multi-character so that someone can die.

It would be fictional of course, we all know those sharks would have lasers on their heads and you would defeat them with one hand tied behind your back! >:D

I have been contacted by Joe from R3magazene and i hope he dosn't mind me posting the message he sent me telling you but he has asked me to release the Rp on the same date as the next R3M.

no im putting up a trial Rp today, a sort of prequal and test to come before the main Rp to see if this kind of idea works.
