First things first, I'd like everyone to know that this is not Scriptless' RP. We will be acting independently from the storylines that were present there, and the RP will be taking place 7 years from then. The year is 2022.

Status: Registering-Act III

Rules

*You are allowed up to 3 characters; only 1 can be active at the same time. However, you are free to create as many NPC characters as you want. However, they can't be actual detectives. They are plot devices only.

*Before each game, the Game Master (aka GM) is chosen first. After that, the GM choses who will begin the game as Kira. Whoever is Kira is free to give up the book at any time to another detective. If such an exchange is desired, PM the GM indicating that you have done so, and the GM will PM whoever is the new Kira indicating his new status. At the end of each Act, whoever was Kira will be in top candidacy for GM spot. They have the right to decline, but they will lose the eligibility to be Kira for the whole entire Act. If such a situation occurs, then the members will choose either to keep the old GM, or select a new one. The members will be forced to select a new one if the GM forgoes his GM eligibility.

*When an exchange between Kira occurs, the original Kira must send the password to the Kira profile (if changed) to the GM, who'll send it to the new Kira.

GM Expectations and Standards:*
As GM, you are expected to keep the storyline going. It is necessary that you follow all general RP guidelines and rules. Due to recent problems, God modding is not permitted unless the RP is in endangerment of dying. GM characters can die, but the RPer will still be GM. This is for the sake of the story.

Kira Expectations and Standards:
As Kira, you are the main antagonist of all the RPers and the GM. In order to win the RP, you must keep your identity a mystery and/or kill all the detectives. In order to kill, you must use a name and a face to kill. If the other player's face is covered and/or his name has not been revealed, you may not kill him with the Death Note. Although it is not necessary in the RP, all Death Note users are required to keep a Shinigami possessing them. Since writing on account of the Shinigami would be unnecessary extra work, it is not required. However, a certain deal with the Shinigami allows you to receive their eyes in exchange for half of your life. With the SHinigami Eyes, when you see someone's face, you automatically see their name and when they will die. But their whole face must be shown. If they have sunglasses, or masks on,etc. you cannot kill them. Since without outside intervention the Shinigami Eye deal would be borderline god-modding, the GM decides whenever the current Kira dies. If Kira sends the DN (Death Note) to another person, he will lose his eyes, but won't gain his life back. Should the Death Note come back to him, he can go through the Shinigami Eye deal once again. Once you lose your eyes twice, you may not receive them again.

I'm a bit disappointed that the storylines from the original 2 Chapters aren't present, since I wanted Legacy to be Track's daughter, but oh well. Time for my first appearance as a lady

My main concern with the whole continuance issue was that I didn't want any content disputes with anyone. And I wanted this to be easier to join for new people who really didn't follow the original 2 RPs. You can do that, but the thing is I kinda don't want alot of allusions to the last 2 cases. What I'm saying is, I don't want anyone or any content from the last 2 cases reappearing, although they can have some sort of relations to them.

Great to see all the faces in just the first day of Registration! We already have more than the last case, so we'll be able to start in the next couple days. I'll wait for a couple more familiar faces (*cough* Sparrowsmith *cough*) and new people to pop up and then we'll start.

I also think I might change the Kira exchanging rules, since the way it looks now, once someone is Kira and sends the book to someone else, that someone else will know who Kira was, and will probably kill him. So to keep the game more secret, I'm going to edit that rule.

Looking forward to it. Can't wait for this to start. I love me a good battle of wits.

I also did have an idea regarding death note. Instead of setting it after the previous cases, why not set it before? It's the 1950s and what seems to just be a rise in heart attacks is interpreted as some new kind of killer by a handful of detectives.

These are my detectives from my DN game, I'm going to use this RP to develop them but I will also be severely undercutting their abilities (because we don't want more 'L' type characters, that's a recipe for disaster)

So yes, I hope my two detectives will be alright. I might introduce a third but - and I stress this - I will not be joining the actual RP for a week and a half.

I don't think the 50s would be a good setting for Deathnote, since the technology would be so lacking :/
Technology, be it fancy computers, voice scramblers or the constant use of colour televisions, have a way of defining the plans made by Detectives and by Kira so getting rid of them could just leave us at a stand-still where we have no way of doing anything useful.

For example, Watari pressing a single button to delete all of the progress made, L's fancy timer where if he doesn't press a button once every 24 hours, a message is sent to Whammy's House delcaring his death. Things like that would give us, as detectives, some leads to go on, but without the tech we have nothing to use to our will. The same of course goes for Kira.

i do have a few questions about the death note rps seeing as i haven't played before. but first my character

1. Well yes, since that's one of the rules of the Deathnote, unless they regain it within 365 days...

2. Darkblade created an account for us called "I Am Kira". Kira then gets to use that account to carry out killings, so whoever is Kira is given the password to that account

3. The old Kira won't know who the new Kira is o.O

I think Trick explained pretty much what I thought. We went through hell using even just this technology just to get a basic clue of Kira.

Wait....now that I think about it, that seems like a good idea if implemented properly. But we should see who wants to do it next case fiirst, though.

@ Kisuke:
1. Basically, we'll be following all the DN rules from the real show. In the old RP, there were new rules I think Scriptless made, but they had no use and were never actually needed. So if you know any rules of the Death Note then you're good. If not, then here's the link to them all:DN Rules. Please note, any exceptions in the DN rules about killing people before their time and killing them when they have less than 12 minutes left is not applicable here since anyone can say they are about to die or something like that.

2. In the Death Note RP, we use an exclusive member account for whoever is Kira named "I am Kira." When Kira wants to kill someone, he must sign into I am Kira and write who he is going to kill (the character fake name and his real name), what time the victim dies, and how he dies. Whenever Kira is done being Kira, he will Pm the GM (in this case, me) and give me the password to the I am Kira profile if he changed it. I will change it and give the PW to the new Kira.

3. In DN RP, you play as a detective. So when you try to arrest someone, you must have the proper evidence to arrest him. However, I can see how that can be a problem. I'm thinking that I should take the book and randomly select the new Kira. It depends, though. What does everyone else think?

B y the way, now that everyone from the last case is back in, I'll gladly begin in the next 1-2 days. This'll be in case anyone else wants to join in the last minute (*cough* Spirit *cough*) .

Although, did you read the suggestion that Sparrow and I said? It's in Chapter 2 of the Roleplay, personally I think that it'd be much cooler if Kira actually acted like Kira, instead of trying to act like a detective the whole time...

I see where you're going with that but for me personally, not knowing who Kira is is a large part of the fun. Not knowing who to trust, always having to watch your back, the inevitable fights among colleagues. For me at least, I'd like it to stay a mystery.

Aye, but if we do that then there's really no "Wit" to it, since Kira isn't free to pull of any grand schemes. Plus, even though you as a user know who Kira is, keep in mind that your character wouldn't, so your character still wouldn't know who to trust. Quite franktly, I think the previous 2 chapters worked out rather dull since Kira was trying not to act like Kira. Omnial for example, never did ANYTHING suspicious, but we were expected to believe that he was the Kira we had been investigating for weeks.

I don't think it'll be a problem. I knew Sparow was Kira for the longest, but I couldn't find a way to expose him. When you wanna get Kira, you have to have evidence. And everyone knew he was Kira, but we still couldn't expose him, so it's not a big issue. It' something that can be done.

I kinda wanna start tomorrow too, now that I think about it, but I might be away for the day.

Right ok that cleared most of my questions up thanks guys i think ill read a little of the other chapters just to get a feel for the rules. But if Kiras going to kill someone in person EG. Killing a detective while waring a face mask or getting an assasin or someone elso to do it (unlikely i know) they would post it in the I am Kira profile?

Scriptless, don't get worked up over your character. it wasn't a personal blow, but the RP was dying and the ominous and indestructible character had to be removed for the rest of the RP to actually work.

It says (in your rules) that Once kira has the eyes, the GM can kill them whenever they like.

Yeah, it's not like you can't keep playing. You'll always be honored as the one who started the RP, so you'll always be welcome as a player. It's just that I kinda felt that we needed to rotate the GMs, because in the sign up topic, I remember it said the GM would be rotated. Plus, I kinda thought you left the RP....so I figured, hey it's up for grabs. I can't let it die.

Hi everyone, bad news.

It looks like I may not be able to GM this round due to unforeseen circumstances involving my computer performance. I don't know when it'll be fixed (it could be from tomorrow to next year), so I'll put up a poll for a substitute GM who will take my place until I get back. Trust me, I wanna play, but I'm also thinking about you guys having to wait a week for me to move. I know I hate when that happens.

Sparrow can't be Kira since he was Kira last round. Actually, he was supposed to be GM since he won the last round, but I declared mutiny. If Kira turns out to have the most votes, the person with the second most votes will be the next GM.
