The Chronicle
It has been approximately six years since the fall Emperor Sun Li, the Glorious Strategist and his indoctrinated minion Death's Hand, who also led the onslaught upon the Jade Empire with his Lotus Assassins. Sun Li's most gifted pupil, who was chosen by the Water Dragon to uplift the curse that had befell the empire, slain his old master over years of deception. Sun Li, convincing his pupil that he saved the young orphan after the Spirit Monk temple was destroyed by his brother, Emperor Sun Hai, trained the young boy at an unknown school located in Two Rivers. Though many of the students saw the pupil as one of the best, they also predicted a simple "flaw" in his martial skill, that would later leave him vulnerable in his fight with the "Gloroius Strategist" His old master planned his rule to power since the attack of Dirge and the Spirit Monk Temple. The flaw left the young pupil helpless in the instant strike his master had held from teaching him...the last of the Spirit Monks fell to the hands of the emperor. While Sun Li continously drew power away from the Water Dragon's spirit, the Water Dragon did what she could to resurrect the fallen hero.

Surprised at his comeback, Sun Li and his pupil had their final battle of Martial strength and sorcery. Victory reigned in the hands of the hero.

Two years after his death, a fellow Martial Arts master known as Wu Shin, the Solid Stone, named for his extraordinary vitality in battle, rose to become the next emperor. All of the Jade Empire praised him for his strong leadership. Four years after his election, a new threat risen beyond the horizon that threatens the lives of the empire. A neighboring country to the north, of England decent, saw the commoners of the Jade Empire as "skinny little people with their talks of demons, spirits, and strength from within" decides to expand their regime. The Douchess of the England country, attacked the Imperial City, which was home to the emperor and the famous Imperial Arena. The attack was sudden and instant. No one had predicted nor foreseen the coming threat. Emperor Wu Shin unleashed a hound of imperial soldiers to their fates, for the lives of the innocent, they fought bravely, and died honorably. Wu Shin and the remaining soldiers fled to a small clearing, far from the reaches of the Imperial City to rebuild his army. Thus, the Twin Dragons school was born. The emperor and the remaining soldiers, disguised as Master and senior students, saw over the younger students in their climb to true skill. Months after its construction, many promising students displayed their skill in both Martial Arts and sorcery to their master Wu Shin.

You are among the students here at the Twin Dragons school, destined to learn about the forthcoming events Master Wu Shin plans before you. Whether you choose the path of the Open Palm (Good) or the Way of the Closed Fist (Evil) is entirely up to you. The England Queen waits for no one.

Stone Strike (A magic style that envelops your hands in stone, inflicting earth damage to your opponent.)
Dragon Sword (A weapon style that inflicts damage with a sword.)
Golden Staff (A weapon style that inflicts damage with a staff.)
Tiger Claws (A weapon style that inflicts damage with bladed claws strapped to your hands.)
Tong's Vengeance (A weapon style that inflicts damage with twin-axes.)

Biography:
Before he sought a better way, Jun Thao was a traveling merchant, selling low-end goods to those he passed by. Both of his parents were adept students at the Black Leopard School located in the Imperial City. He was forced to learn the ways of the Leopard fighting styles, which he had no interest. His parents became obsessed, channeling Chi away from the deceased in the Spirit Realm, which drove him away. It was only a few weeks after he left the city, that it was attacked. He learned of this soon after arriving at the Twin Dragons school. The death of his parents inflicted great pain in his heart, though he tries so hard to hide it. At the school, he learned a few techniques from the adept students, which he later incorporated into his own style. His name, the Burning Angel, came from his accurate use of the fire style, while seen dressed in an white robe. After years of excessive training, Jun Thao became a senior student, influencing the younger students.

Personality:
During the day, Jun Thao is usually found helping other students to conquer their techniques. During the night, he meditates at the top of a hill that overlooks the entire school. He is passionate in helping his fellow mates, calm, but can get angry when he needs to.

Biography: Hao was born to a pirate father, who left his wife in the Imperial CIty. He grew up as a pickpocket, known for his quickness and agility. He was an Arena fighter under the name of Xun for awhile, but left right before the Dutchess attacked. He later took on residence at the school and became one of the most respected, but notorious, students there. He seeks to be a Sr. student, but his hotheadedness prevents him from so.
Personality: Excited. Hao is full of energy, and tends to exert it a little bit too much. He believes in the Closed Fist, that force reigns supreme. He enjoys eating above all, and talking with other students.
Alignment: Closed Fist

Biography: In all his years in training, Thiro has kept completely to himself and avoided those that were weaker than him. Equally, he stayed awayfrom those stronger than him or of equal strength to him, but for a different reason; he would someday surpass them, but Thiro was an honourable man, so if he were to discover the training methods of those he wished to surpss, then beating them would mean nothing since he would understand their advantage and would be able to exploit it for himself. In other words, he stayed away from those he wished to surpass so that he could beat them in a fair, normal way; his training against theirs.

At a young age, Thiro was highly taented with a Blade, particularly a Custom Katana he had called "Sanctioned Crime". This Blade led to many victories for Thiro, and to get it all he had to do was kill a weak Bandit who had no idea how to truly wield a Blade. Thiro defeated the Bandit with his mastery of the Dire Flame Style, and then killed him with his own Sword. All of this happened during his life in the Imperial City.
After this incident however, Thiro's noble parents disowned him, seeing him as an abomination to their well-defined bloodline. From that day, Thiro has trained at the Academy
Personality: Thiro often mocks students that are weaker than him, and practically worships his Katana Santioned Crime. He holds high respect for those that ar stronger than him, treating them as powerful, worthy rivals. He hates the rich for their shallow snobiness, but that doesn't mean he likes the poor; he believes that if a family is poor, it is because of their "pathetic ancestors". He generally stays calm and collected in a fight and remains confident at all times. However, he isn't stupid, and will happily flee from a fight that he can't possibly win.

Appearance: Long, wild, black hair. Torn and stretched fighting uniform. Blue eyes, deceiving voice and very tough looking.
Biography: An orphan raised by a pub owner. The baby was good for two things, crying and eating, so the customers named the child the Loud Mountain. Eventually the pub owner could no longer afford the child's growing needs, and gave him up to a martial arts school. They couldn't feed him either, so he had to work to keep himself afloat.
Eventually he realized it was much easier if he just beat the money out of other people, paid so he could stay in the school, learn how to beat people up and then beat people up for even more money.

Before he really knew it he'd managed to build himself up a little enterprise of money, and then he was kicked out of the school.
He moved from school to school, repeating the process, until he wound up at the twin dragons school.
He's currently about half way through his process of beating people up. Just over half of the pupils have been beaten, robbed, been betted on and lost, etc, and now he's moving up to the tougher students.

Personality: Ai Shan can't not have something. He boasts, he trains, he fights, he robs. He does everything it takes to stay on top. If his opponent wants to use swords, he'll use swords. If his opponent wants to use fists, he hits them faster than a raging bull. He believes in self preservation and personal desires. He always wants more, and once he wants something he needs to get it.

What exact date does this take place? I want my character as a foreigner.

@Scriptless - Actually, the game never mentioned the time period. Just think Ancient Mythic China...thats the best I can describe it.

the japanese and the chinese have been feuding for centuries, that's not to say you can't, just that a lot of characters will not like you

Sparrow's right. The Chinese and the Japanese weren't always on the same level. You will be hated...but if you want...I guess it will be alright...Though I prefer you to stick with the central theme.

Plus would a Japanese person be allowed into the Academy, considering their rivalry?

Indeed he is xD. Yeah, I don't think a Japanese character would fit the theme here.

Double posting I know but there has only been 94 views and only 12 posts within those views. So I might just say screw it and go ahead and post the role-play itself. If it survives it survives if not, well it was a nice run, I suppose.

Allow me to mention that by doing side quests each participate will earn 4 exp. Since everyone is just starting your exp will be 0. How this works? If you get 12 exp by doing three side quests, you will be able to add one more fighting style to your list. Once you hit twelve, doing three more quests will earn you 24 exp, and then you can add one more style to your list. So on and so on.

There will be different rewards for different quests.

Here is the format you may take for the side quests:
1 post telling how your character came about the quest and accepted it. This is also a chance to gain the help of fellow students, who will venture with you on the quest.

1 post leaving the school, embarking on the quest

2-3 posts on the road towards your quest

1 post entering the entrance to your quest or coming upon it

And 4-5 posts completing the quest. When you're done you will be rewarded 4 exp. You can use exp to purchase techniques or fighting styles. Techniques will come soon. For now, you can only purchase fighting styles.

You don't have to use this format, it'll just make the quest go by faster. Also, feel free to pitch your own ideas for different quests. As I did with corrupted spirit, I will create the quest sheet with your name on it, letting others know who created the quest.

Appearance: Deep black hair hanging loosely down to his collar, Hwai normaly wares draping clothes to conceal his muscular body. green eyes always goes bare foot, and has his Hsu Quandao strapped to his back if not in use.
Biography: Hwaising was raised by foster parents in a nothen fishing village before the attack on the imperial city. Being on the finge of the jade empire Hwai's village came under attack and was quickly dystroyed. Hwai's family and friends where brutily murdered. Maneging to escape the village Hwai devoted his life to avenging his pearents and trying to regain the peacful life that he has lost
Personality: Hwaising is quiet and withdrawn from his souroundings perfering insted to focas on his training than those around him, one of his major flaws, wich he tries to correct.
Alignment: Descpite his many attempts to change Hwai stands , in his oppinon, on the wrong side of the closed fist boarder. His temper frequently gets the better of him plungeing him into fits of uncontorled rage.

I'd rather leave the layout to your imagination. But there are essentials structures:

Master Wu's quarters, Student huts, and the sparring arena. Really if you can think of different areas around the school, then feel free.

I think it was mainly due to Truckster being knockd out, and me taking awhile to reply that there was no activity. I love the idea, and would like to keep it going.

Heck, four main characters fighting together? In Jade Empire you could only ever have 1 companion, so we already have more main characters, even if it's just 4 players Why stop now?

Biography:

Senton is the oldest daughter of a martial arts master in one of the outlying villages of the Imperial City. Unfortunately the school has been falling on hard times on account of being kind of out of the way to get to. In order to keep the school running Senton is travelling around to try and learn more fighting styles to add to her moveset in order to be the most effecient school in existance.

Personality:

Driven. Her family's honor is on the line which is something she doesn't take lightly either. She only allows herself to seem vulnerable if she is about to kill someone or if she is warming up to them.

Alignment: Dead Middle. She would rather let someone live than kill them but if its for the greater good, they're gone.

Then I guess it is decided.
