Submission Lounge
------------------------------------------------
Your thinking right now...what the heck is the purpose of this when you can set up a [req]topic. By golly, your thinking that now! (Not my fault o.o)
This most likely...definitely goes against the rules and faqs topic, feel free to remove/move smile.gif

I wont post a list of the projects made, you can find them in the Event Submission List. Personal Requests will not be posted, and instead shall be sent to the requester via message.

A1 [Information]
----------------------
A1 is here. It tells what purpose each index has...will start with [Team Members]

[Team Members]
A list of the team members involved in helping with the submission lounge. Team members may request events, highly unlikely.
[Credit]
Your a requester! Don't feel like your getting that credit for making up the idea for that awe-breaking event? You know, without your request, that event wouldn't even exist. Lets give a hand to those who built up the civilization from the ground, not just those who help flourish it today.
The Credit System will give you points for given ideas, if they're worthy to be made.
The points are seperated like so...
Blue-Easy Difficulty Event
Green-Normal Difficulty Event
Red-Hard Difficulty Event
Pink-Worthy Ideas
1 point will be added to those correspending to your event/idea
Credit Options:::
(Reserved until I decide what people can use credit for...credit will not be reduced, but usage will be out of the maximum)
The Requester will be given credit to singular projects they request, not just credit points.

[Application]
Oh nooooez...Bad grammer intended? Here's a nice application for you to copy and paste for applying to request a project here. Please use the application or the idea won't be added to the request list. Application is located down further...
This helps me understand better to create the event more sufficiently.

[Personal Request List]
If you wish to make a personal request, send me a message. Also noted...use the application when personally requesting or it will be denied.
That's basically it for the PRL. I will however post the name of the event and the requester in a list of personal requests to avoid stealing of the works. No link will be provided...and no Credit Points either.

[Public Request List]
These requests are available to the whole community. Application required when requesting publicly. (Located further down)

This is a pretty good idea Hatred. I'd be sweet if we could get a group of elite eventers together! I'd like to join the team if I may. I'm a pretty easy person to get along with, and I love helping others out. I've helped out AWakened Owl and dk1129 with requests. You can find those posts here:

Awakened Owl: http://www.rpgrevolution.com/forums/index....showtopic=43343

dk1129:
http://www.rpgrevolution.com/forums/index....showtopic=43239

I also a have a few subitted tutorials that deal with events, you can find those in my signature.

Thank you and I look forward to your reply! smile.gif
Ale Goth
Ah, glad you like it Montage. A group of elite eventers you say? I do believe that is a wonderful idea smile.gif . Nice job on the Event Submission List by the way. Now no one has to rummage through the massive pages...even though there's only about 2 or 3 so far tongue.gif
-
You've created a good amount of events there; checking your signature. They seem pretty good, though I never downloaded the demos. I noticed your pedometer sub had a bit of scripting haha. I'm not sure it's possible without scripting, but I will have to look into this hehe smile.gif

It would be nice to you as a member;
And so forth, I dub thee a knight...er, I mean Team member.
I'll add your name to the Members sections in a second or two.
I look forward to working with you smile.gif
Also, I'm thinking the members could make an event when we get enough. A group project for all the members, what do you think Montage?
RzrBladeMontage
What kind of event were you thinking of? It would be pretty difficult for all of us to work on a single event unless we're all doing a part of it and in the end we smash it together to make something amazing. We've done a lot of events already.. fishing, cooking, gardening, taming monsters, gambling, etc... I'm not sure what else we could do tongue.gif.
Ghun
I would love to help with this. I'm not advanced as montage is because I have troubles with variables still because I like to try my best go around them. I have two submissions (One I need still to fix in my demo. havent had the time because of work.) And I also have help a few others around here that needed it.

@RzrBladeMontage

Yes it would be rather difficult, and I don't think it would turn out too well if we mashed a buncha' of seperate members parts.
As for we basically done everything we can...you just got to think outside the box smile.gif
I'll whip up something random right now...let's see...well, I've completed an event bout' a month ago. It's a logon system so everyone can share the same saved file and do things that effect others. Like Animal Crossing, for GameCube.

@Ghun

I checked the topics you linked and you are quite good. You did say however that you had trouble with variables. Variables aren't as important as Switches, and because they are easy to use. I sometimes use a variable like a switch because it saves a lot of switches.
I wouldn't be worried too much unless it really needs a variable to make. If you need help with the concept and some tricks for using variables, feel free to ask me or Montage.

Since you seem pretty good and helpful. I happily except you into the members smile.gif
----
Hopefully someone requests something soon. Hmm...Maybe I'll set up a trainee members for people who wish to learn eventing, and once they qualify good, they can join the full membership.

I'd ask for help on making those improvements on my Ghost Skill, but at its current stage it's comprised of:
-3 variables
-3 Common events
-2 parallel process events
-a switch
-an ON/OFF option
-about 5 condition branches
-a script (which so far only drains HP instead of MP)
-a state (which the script links to)
-and the skill its attached to, which calls one of the events

so it's pretty complicated. sweat.gif
Ale Goth
What does each variable do?
"" Common Event

I'm not sure you need parellel processes, what does each one do?
Switch, I believe I know it's for running the common events.

The script and state...I'm pretty sure you could do without th script.
Instead, make a common event for when the ghost state switch is on that does...
----
-1 MP (or Hp)
Wait 60 frames (1 second)
Conditional Branch::If Mp of (character) = 0
then turn off switch.
----
It subtracts 1 hp/mp every second and will make it turn off when you run out of mp or hp. You could make it a game over if your characters hp reaches 0 if that seems good.
RzrBladeMontage
The only problem that I'll have is helping people in VX. I don't really have much experience using VX, I've opened it up and taken a look at it but that's about it. I guess I'll start doing events in there as well tongue.gif. You have a file sharing system Hatred?

@Ghun
Welcome to the team. If you need any help using variables, I'll be glad to help smile.gif.

Actually, it doesn't. I know because I just tried it. It's easier to just apply a custom damage slip (like poison) effect, but when it drains 1 HP/step and you have 350 HP on a 50x50 map, it's pointless.
I tried a system that sets an aptly-named MP variable to the player's MP, but it only shut off it the player's MP was 0. Variables can be tricky, but if you're good with them and can apply a Macguyver-like brilliance to them, it opens up a staggaring amount of possibilities.
To be honest, I think I'm just being ambitious/picky about it and should just leave it for anyone cocky enough to try and improve upon it. I really don't mind either way.
Ale Goth
It's a good thing I specialize in Vx tongue.gif
When you mean file sharing, do you mean like mediafire, or msn...I think that can send files.
--
@Alt Jack
That state your using is like poison and subracts hp on step. And the common event I suggested would minus hp/mp whether or not you step. Might be better to stick to the poison state if you don't want to end up dying on accident from not knowing your hp without constantly checking the menu.
For the thing about shutting it off only if mp=0 , you can make it so if mp(variable) is less than or equal to 10. That way it shuts off even if it goes down past 10. Or maybe if your mp is low, you can have it show a warning your about to run out of mp/hp with show picture and show text saying you have low mp/hp.

Anyone, no requests yet? :0

I've bolded what you said earlier about the sharing thing. And how different is eventing for VX then XP? If it's not too bad I should be able to get right into it with no problem at all.
Ale Goth
Vx isn't too different than Xp, just a few things removed and added in the types of commands you can use; memorize bgm/bgs unfortunately isn't in Vx :0
The only thing you need to do is get used to where things mainly are. Many commands are the same, it won't be hard to be good at Vx because you already know eventing in Xp.
RzrBladeMontage
I'll take a look at VX. I'll convert my projects over to VX as well and post them so people who use VX can get a taste of them too!

Also, I was thinking Hatred, what if we had a contest for eventing? We could have a few different themes and rounds to narrow down the winners. Like for the first round, have a certain theme, and the top 5 people from there go to round 2, and from round 2 we pick a different theme and 3 people go onto the final round and on the final round a new theme is picked and from there, the winner, as well as second and third place. It's always something to think about, and hopefully something to make the Event Emporium get a little more traffic!
Ale Goth
We'll take all the traffic we can, even if it means rush hour and lots of jams(Go Rv's) :0

The contest would be a great idea, maybe we can have prizes for making it to round 2 and winning altogether, a banner maybe?
The mods are always having that yearly event where people get voted on for types of behavior...etc. Then they get a banner to show of in their signature. It'll make it worth the while and more people may join. It's been bout' 3 days and no requests. Should liven things up smile.gif
RzrBladeMontage
But how would someone from the Event Emporium host a contents if they wanna compete? That's the only downfall. People can say that they cheated somehow in the competition...
Ale Goth
I can host it myself, and yes; unfortunately I won't be competing to avoid the thought that I would be cheating. Other members could be allowed from the submission lounge, and may help setting it up, but I will be the one voting on who goes to the next round and who wins because I'm not in the competition. That sounds fair.
Ghun
I was wondering how about us three not compete at all and be the 3 judges smile.gif. Nah but this should be a great idea to have this contest.
Oh and thanks for the acceptance! Glad I could apart of it all!

Instead of having you vote on it, it's better to make a poll so people can vote on it themselves. We don't want anyone accusing you of playing favorites tongue.gif.

Well, count me out. As much as I enjoy competition and judging others, it's not for me.
The important thing is to check for originality in the events created. You don't want someone making something incredible, then finding out that it's a carbon copy of someone else's tutorial.
Ale Goth
Yay poll! That means I can join in, and win..hehe lol, jk.
Ghun, sounds fun eh? Lets hope we don't get like 50 people in the contest...that poll would be huge, and they might be too lazy to look at them all and vote :0
Maybe like a max of 10 people can join?
RzrBladeMontage
I think it's too soon to host a contest. Maybe after a few more weeks when we get a little more traffic to the Event Emporium. We should wait until another update for RRR comes out (where it talks about new events and news), that way when people read that they'll see that we're having a content and maybe join! smile.gif
Ale Goth
Yeah, suppose we should. Not much traffic at all, only like one or two new topics a week. I think Ill make some submissions soon. Haven't done so in a while.
RzrBladeMontage
Yeah I've been searching around the web and checking out other people's event demos. It helps inspire me to create more and better events. I'm currently working on 3 "big" projects, one is a event and the others are 2 different things, but that's all I'm saying for now. Not sure when I'll be releasing anymore information tongue.gif.
Ale Goth
After reading the R3 yearly thingy-mabobber. I forgot the name already...I NOTICED this topic again and was like holy crap? I made that lol.
Anyway, BUMP it up yo. Where is the requests maties?
biggrin.gif
(I think I'll add some link pics in my siggy to this topic for more attention)
MajinBangFlash
Can't believe I never noticed this before tongue.gif

Okay, I'ma make a request now.

Event Name:

ABS event (More specifically, how to check notebox of equipped weapon)

Difficulty: On a scale of one to ten : 3 (Function is used by scripts, just can't figure out what it is)

DeadLine: As soon as possible, but it is not important.

Game Platform: Rpg Maker VX

Detailed Information:

Taken from my original post :

QUOTE
I am eventing a very simple On-screen battle system for VX, and yes, I know, there is Verus Tempus, but I want to try to create my own system.

Anyway! I am wondering how it would be possible to make something happen when an object (Item, weapon, etc) have...Oh, I dunno, SWORD in the notebox of say, a sword, and I would then event on to make something happen if that comment is in the notebox.

Bleh. Now that I read it, that was a bad example tongue.gif

Okay, this is what I want to learn how to do :

If weaponid1.notebox has "SWORD" then
change actor graphic : "Swordsman"
walking animation = true
end
else
end
end

Is there a function like that which would at all be possible to do?

Thanks in advance.

Note that the notebox part doesn't work. I need that bit figured out :3
Just a small snippet of my ABS event, don't worry 'bout the rest.
Ale Goth
QUOTE

That is an invalid display because you may be checking it, but it doesn't really check what your equipping, just the id of the weapon your checking.
Now I tried several things, and including checking google engine to find out any ways to check the notebox's writing. I messed with it for about 30 minutes editing it around to get it to work but ended up with syntax errors and invalid variables. It may be somewhere on the internet, and also I used "advanced" "script" in the event commands and came up short on solving it. I REALLY suck at scripting and have no scripting knowledge whatsoever except a half year of java in school which I have pretty much forgotten...all of it.

Try posting this in rpg maker vx script requests. You should get a reply within a day or two, I highly suspect it because what your asking is quite a simple task for scripting...at least to my knowledge.
Sorry, I tried my best to figure it myself. sleep.gif

Aye, sorry for the late reply. I've looked over your back storage event/backpack and it's looking good. I would make a tiny suggestion. I was a tad bothered when I tried to store more than I had of that item, and some labels to jump back to the previous part would be faster and I wouldn't have to go back into my menu to redo it all over again. It's not that important, but would be nice smile.gif
All in all, it's a good event.
