Hey people. I've been having some problems with Vampyr Net Gaming 1.5 RC. I just wanted to know the following:

1. How do I set a MOTD?
2. How do I set the newest version?
3. It seems that I can't set my no-ip, it says "failed to start server", how do I fix this?
4. Is it possible to turn the day & night changing thing off?

Thank you.

EDIT: I did just discover, that 1.5 RC is localhost-only, so if somebody has a link to 1.11, or 1.1.1 or whatevur this version is called, it would be nice if you could upload it since I didnt find this version anywhere in google.

I DONT CARE WHAT VERSION BUT IT HAS TO BE ONLINE-PLAYABLE!

THANKS!

1. You can't.
2. What the heck are you talking about?
3. You probably have a dynamic IP. Won't work.
4. Not sure.

1.5RC IS NOT localhost only. I should know. If you have a Static IP or a way of connecting No-IP to your server, you can use that for your IP.

ALL of the versions are online playable.

1. Okay.
2. In v. 1.0.9 you could set the version, if it is not equal to the clients version it says "Game needs to be updated".

Well, I tried to use my no-ip but it doesnt work. It says "failed to start server". I also tried my external IP, doesnt work and since 1.1.0 the 0.0.0.0-IP(which WORKED for me) is not working anymore. It would be nice if you could help me(again^^)

2. He removed it.
External IP won't work because you have a Dynamic IP.

Either get a static IP, a VPS, or use Hamachi.

no-ip worked once, and nobody wants to get a static IP, use Hamachi or get a VPS just for hosting/playing on a RPGVX-Online-Server. You should recognize how ridiculous this sounds. If you can't help me get it working with no-ip, then I just have to keep using the 1.0.9-version.

Those are your only options. And even though it might say No-IP works, (it has for me several times) there's still the chance that it's localhost, as you probably didn't test on a computer outside your network.

Believe me or not, I tested it, and it didnt work for me. I got my Laptop from somewhere else and configured the server via TV, set localhost on the server and tried to connect by entering my no-ip in the config-script of the client. Doesn't work. I just think, the server is kiddin me oO

Naah, in the VNG thread it says XX/XX/2010, so you can guess what it means wink.gif

The only one with 1.6 right now is me, and I'm the only one who knows the approximation date as well other than Vlad, and I will not give anything away.

Try editting your /Windows/sytem32/drivers/etc/hosts file, using a new line something like this.
CODE
routerIP           no-ip host
external IP                 no-ip host

doesn't work as well.. I really get the feeling, that this program is messin with me Oo

I mean every version until 1.1.0 worked perfectly for me. Maybe you or vlad could change in 1.6, that you can select the 0.0.0.0 IP as in the 1.0.9 version, cause this worked fine for me, but you don't have to.

EDIT: Do I maybe have to open port 50000 even though I don't use it? (may be a bug?) Cause I can select my LAN IP and my Hamachi IP, but nothing external when I use Port 9090(which I opened)
