Full Version: How do I change Battle Start SE (Via Script?)

I wanted to be able to change the sound from when you enter a battle. I have two sounds I want to use, one is for a standard battle, the other is for a boss battle. I am wondering if there is a way to change it via script command or something so I could temporarily change it before a boss battle and then change it back after a boss battle.

I hope I made myself clear, thanks in advance for any help recieved.

Play sound effect?

Unfortunately, that would mean I have to play a sound effect for every battle, and that's not really possible I don't think on the random encounters. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Page 1 of Event Commands, bottom right is a button 'Change Battle BGM' (under 'Change Windowskin'). Use that in the event before you start the boss battle, and when the battle is over, use the same command to change it back to the random encounter music.

Oh I already know how to do that, I think you mis-understood. I'm looking for how to change the Sound Effect that plays when you enter a battle, I was wondering if there was a way to change that and there doesn't seem to be any Event Commands that have that specific function. I was wondering if there was a way to change it by calling up the Script or something.

Are you using random encounters or something else?

A little bit of both. "Something else" would be referring to some forced encounters with events and stuff. Phantsmal's suggestion might work on the forced encounters part, but not for the random encounters part. I'm not sure , I hadn't had time to test it.

EDIT:
Okay, it did work, but I still have a problem with the random encounters.
