Full Version: Two Songs That I Composed for my New Game

These are two songs I composed for a game I am making with funguskitty called The Iron Gate.

The First Song:

The first song is a simple C major little diddy that the 7 wizards play when they create the Sun Plate. (In case you haven't read my prologue of my game (which I'm guessing you haven't wink.gif ) The wizards use instruments instead of wands and stuff.
This little song features:

A bell playing quarter notes once every measure
A trumpet, and violin playing the main melody
A flute and ocarina playing the melody an octave higher
A lute (medieval guitar-like instrument) playing the melody an octave lower
A harp playing a simple rhythm arpeggio

The title is: Making of the Balance

The Second Song:

This song is a semi-haunting C# minor flute solo. It is the song that plays when Erif attempts to create the Moon Plate himself. The spell goes corrupt, and well, yeah. Important game element.
This little song features:

A solo flute playing a haunting minor melody

The title is: Moonlit Corruption

Rather nice. The moon plate song sounds like something from chrono trigger. And i liked the sun plate song too. they'd go really well in a RPG game.

I actually liked them both. The thing about them is that they sound like a group of people just playing in the street, so to speak. Like, sometimes, in the quest to make great game music and whatnot, a song can come out too perfect and great, that it does sound like a well-rehearsed orchestra in a sound studio, whereas them playing in the street would have an entirely different sound.

So, on that note, both songs are pretty, and nice, and I think they achieve the idea that these wizards are playing it themselves. Does that make sense? I hope so.

Great work! What program did you use to create this with?
