As of today, the SVU (Special Victims Unit) Shall only be handling rapes and minor suspicious activity.
Today there is a new unit known as CDU. (Conspiracy Defense Unit) The job of the unit's detectives is to uncover the true aspect from a crime that is believed to either by a terroist attack or a threat to national security. Your jurisdiction of cases are the following:

Consider the unit a more powerful SVU unit. The captain & detectives shall be chosen shortly.

Murder on an airplane.
As all the characters are flying to / from a vacation / holiday / away on a case, there is a murder on the plane, discovered by one of the characters. In an elevator, there was only the man's body, a wallet, and a blood stain on his neck, from a sharp object. There is also a hammerr, with an end coated in blood.

Now, I havent watched many L&W, so this is more or less a random suggestion. No points for any obvious plaugerisms.

This definately looks like it could be interesting. Not a big fan of Law and Order myself (I have only a few episodes under my belt), though I can't imagine it's much more than simple, good ol' Detective work. So that in mind, here's my rough suggestion;
Name: Not much Law, not much Order
Location: East Harlem, Manhattan
Victim: Anders Walk, Male, 38 years old, Was from Iraque by birth and remained there up to a few months ago
Body Condition: The body was cold and already rotting by the time it was discovered. It had four major puncture wounds, each in vital points of his torso.
Victim Relationships: His brother Abhay, his aunt Amit and his father Aravinda. All are here in East Harlem.
Additional Info: It is believed that "Anders Walk" may be an Alias, and that he may have arrived through a fake passport. It is also possible that the members of his family here in America, were smuggled in.

Okay that will be the case format. I'll add that to main topic.

This is 'Vortex Ribbon' by the way Scriptless. I felt it would be easier to simply post with Trickster's account. Just thought I'd mention this, in order to avoid confusion.
Name: Cirrus Rain
Rank: Detective
Age: 42
Relations to unit: Cirrus is generally friendly with any unit he's involved with, though he'd arrest all of them in a second without any hesitation if he suspected them of endangering his nation's security.
Additional Information: Cirrus didn't join the CDU as such; rather he wa recruited, though his heart obligated him to join, regardless of the risks involved. His 17-year old daughter Erin was killed in a small-scale terroris attack in the JFK Airport in New York on the way back from a trip to Spain with her friends, and he resigned from his duties at his Police Precinct just a few hours after receiving the news. Erin's death tore him apart, and often his mind would appear to leave his body, in a sense; his judgements and thoughts would be clouded and reckless, and he couldn't solve even the simplest of puzzles.
That changed when the CDU contacted him, and he found a new meaning.

Case & Character accepted, waiting for more to join :3
my sign up:
Name: Harold Jefferson
Age: 37
Rank: Detective
Relations to unit: Detective Jefferson is well known for his abilities of interrogation a skill needed for this position.
He disagrees to torture finding the method unneeded. His methods of interrogation are unique.
Additional Information: Jefferson was known to be a great mastermind however, abused his powers within the force. He quit due to him being weighed down by the law. However, when CDU contacted him telling him he can do whatever is necessary to protect the nation's people he went back to being a detective.

ooo thanks for the message on this
I haven't seen any law and order, but I was going to start up a crime RP at some point. seeing as I've been beaten to the punch maybe I could suggest a few things.
1 - Forensics

we need people who can (almost magically) say 'see this blood here, this means the killer is about 5 foot' and then a detective would be all, 'so we're looking for a teenager or something?' and then another forensic guy would be all, 'maybe, and judging from residue found on the victim's clothes they were wearing nail polish, so we're most likely looking for a female between 12 and 16' or something like that
2 - Evidence, I think we should always have a little bit of evidence to find (obviously) that should be decided before the game, but not told to the RPers
3 - multiple cases at once

like in real life
I'll make a sign up later

Eh, NPCs can't be too hard to control I imagine. It will also be fun controlling his family-- I'll make any and all interrogations a pain in the ass, haha
Surely having advanced forensics involved in the RP would require the In-Character forensic experts to have actual knowledge of forensics, and surely the person creating the crime would have to mention such things on the corpse during the Crime Creation...
I think subtle evidence, like the leads I have mentioned in my case would be better, though that's just my opinion. At the end of the day it's ultimately up to Scriptless.
EDIT: This is Vortex by the way, Trickster didn't sin out :-P

meh
I've been watching Dexter lately, so I was going to simplify what he says really

but yeah you're probably right that it could be a little complicated unless the GM messages each person before hand with what they'll find at the crime scene.
It's all about the realism
but yeah, could just say really generic things:
"Blood shows signs of a struggle starting here and continuing to the window. Victim was pushed up against the glass until the window shattered, this is observable by the fracture points being further towards the sides than the middle. The suspect was cut by the glass leaving a series of drops all the way to the door, where he most likely covered his wound with a makeshift bandage, as the blood stops there. Footsteps in the blood here and here would have us believe the suspect was wearing size 11 shoes, by the shape I'd say quite expensive ones at that, if the suspect has kept the shoes we'll be able to make a match, if not then they'll have bought new shoes in the previous week. "
the above is definitely not scientifically accurate, but it's an RP so who cares
