It was the start of another year at Shibusen, and all the Weapons and Meisters that did not have a previous partner were being paired up with a partner who's soul had a wavelength that would be compatable with their own.

Soren was no different in this aspect, He currently had no partner, however, he had enough control over his soul to adjust his wavelength, as such he could be partners with almost anyone...If he willed it that is.

"No, I will not be your partner, your soul is too weak to use me to my fullest, you are aware that I am a very rare type of weapon right? try that kid over there, you both have the same hair color, it might mean something." Soren was being slighlty rude as he rejected yet another person who thought they could be his Meister, Soren had already had two previous partners, both of which did not end up being right for him. "This is boring And I swear I have done this too many times already." He sat back, then laid down, legs crossed, If someone can use me to the fullest, or something like that, then I will be there partner, it is quite simple... He let out a yawn. I wonder if the death scythes had such a boring start here as well? He closed his eyes and started to dose off.

A lone boy walked onto the school grounds twirling a small silver chain around his fingers. He was neatly dressed except for the fact that his collar was not done up. He had a pleasant appearance, but for some reason, no one would approach the boy. Seth glanced around with a haunted look in is azure blue eyes. Everyone already seems to be afraid of me...and they probably don't even know why. He laughed a little to himself and walked over to a tree and sat in the shade. There was a small, white tag on his left breast pocket. It read 'Meister.'

Two girls sat quietly under a nearby tree, one with a name tag that read Weapon, and the other with one that said Meister. The Weapon, Kalli, was lounging against the tree trunk with her braid pulled over her shoulder and was immersed in a well-worn paperback. The Meister was sitting stiffly upright and was peering intently at the students around her. She wasn’t looking for a partner, Kalli was the only person she would trust enough to fill that role. She was, however, looking for some competition. All of her classmates she had seen thus far had been distinctly lacking in interest and, as far as she could tell, potential. There hade been one boy, a red-headed weapon, who seemed rather conceited and looked to be having a little too much fun turning down potential partners, but she wasn’t sure he would actually prove to be any good himself. A flash of light caught her eye and she quickly turned her head to peer at a newcomer. A boy, who was whirling a silver chain. She almost thought he looked a little sad, but mostly she sensed an aura of danger that made her lips curve into a grin.

“Hey, Kalli. What do you think of that Meister?”
“Yeah, yeah, very cute. Whatever Vanessa,” she said without even looking up.
Kalli tilted her head to one side, looking at the boy again. “Meh. Not what I meant. Do you think he’s any good?”
This pulled Kalli out of her book and she looked closely at the strange boy. “I don’t know,” she said finally. “How am I supposed to tell just by looking at him? You’re the meister, why don’t you read his soul or whatever.”
Vanessa’s grin faded into a pout. “I can’t do that yet. Stop teasing. Come on, let’s go say hello.”
Kalli sighed and put her book away while Vanessa plotted a course that would take them past the arrogant weapon. May as well see if she could get a reading from him as well.

Seth yawned and sighed, running his fingers through his purple hair. "They should really hurry up with the entrance ceremonies." He mumbled to himself. "This is boring!" With another exasperated sigh, Seth fell back and stared up at the sun-lit leave of the tree he was sitting under. Doesn't help that today is hot out too... He closed one eye and stared up at the sun through the cracks in the tree's leaves, lifting one hand up as if to touch the sky. I'll probably end up being alone in this school. Seth thought a little bitterly, The weapons here are either too afraid of me or too weak too be my partner and the meisters are even worse. He sat up and looked around, from what he could tell almost everyone on the grounds in front of him had a weak or normal soul wavelength for a meister and weapon. "Meh, they'll all grow in time." Seth said aloud, not really caring who'll hear him.

Soren, opened an eye as he noticed two female students walk past him, Must be nice to have a partner right from scratch who you get along with. He sat up, scratched his head and let out a sigh,it was looking like almost everyone either had a partner by now, or was deemed useless, "Well..." He mumbled to himself, as he took a die out of his pocket, "I see six Meisters all without weapons in my current view who have wavelengths that aren't totally bad, lets take a roll and see who I shall be with?" he tilted his hand and let the die gentaly roll of of his hand and onto the pavement, "Three..." He looked up then looked at a guy with purple hair sitting by himself. "That will have to do for now, I guess." Soren jumped up, put his hands in his pockets and started walking over to him, when he arrived he let out a yawn and began to speak, "Hey..." He stopped for a moment hesitant for a second, then began again, "You have an interesting wavelength. Lets talk." Soren sat down beside him. "My name is Soren, and I am a weapon, a Sickle Sabre to be exact." He rubbed his eye with his left hand, "Whats your name?"

Vanessa's brief trip past the red head proved as fruitless as Kalli had expected it to be. She wasn't sure what Vanessa had been trying to figure out without even pausing to talk to the boy, since neither of them had any soul sensing abilities whatsoever. Although Vanessa had declared her intention of going to speak to the purple haired boy, Kalli was not surprised when her partner was quickly side-tracked into investigating a number of other individuals neither of them knew. Although the two of them had grown up in Death City it seemed that there was a surprising number of outsiders here today.
"Kalli! Kalli, Look at that guy! Isn't he gorgeous? Let's go say hi, okay?" Vanessa said in a not very secretive undertone as she began dragging her partner in the opposite direction of the purple haired boy. A last glance over her shoulder showed Kalli that the red head had approached him, but that was all she saw before she was pulled away with a small smile on her face at the eagerness of her friend.

Seth looked up at Soren and blinked. "My name is Seth," He said bluntly. He looked Soren up and down, "It's a pleasure to meet you, Soren. You don't seem to be scared of me. That means you're either really stupid, or you're not as weak as you look." Seth smiled polity at the red haired boy in front of him. "You say you're a Sickle Saber, correct? You'd be an interesting weapon to fight with." He commented. "I'm not one to ask, but what do you say about becoming my partner for the time being?"

The first thing Crevan did was get rid of the tag. Well no, the first thing he did was reject the first couple meisters who approached him, then he got rid of the weapon tag. He figured it would be a good way to avoid any more propositions. It worked, for the most part, there were a couple of persistent ones still following. A nearby cast iron fence looked promising. He grabbed one of the spikes and swung himself over, wincing at the sound of his hoody ripping. He landed softly on the other side disappearing around a corner. Finding himself in a abandoned park like area he settled himself beneath a tree, and after a quick look around to make sure no one was around he brought out a needle and thread and quickly sewed up the rip, the swift mend disappeared among the hundreds of other such mends that made up his clothing.

Their numerous detours completed, Vanessa finally remembered her original goal and began making her way back to the purple haired boy. As she pulled Kalli (who had gone back to her novel) through the crowd she noticed a a boy with black hair hopping the fence. Although she was curious about his apparent lack of interest in locating a partner she was now comitted to completing her original mission and resolved to investigate this oddity later. The boy shouldn't be that difficult to locate, after all the fence had ripped his hoody. The two friends had just about reached their destination when a girl with white hair approached Kalli.
"You look really nice, why do you let her pull you around so much?" she asked.
Kalli did not hear her, being absorbed in her book, but Vanessa did and she came to a screeching halt.
The girl was apparently undeterred by Kalli's lack of response, and continued. "You're a Morrdinae, aren't you? Why don't you find a partner who actually respects you?" she asked, tapping her 'meister' name tag.
"Hey, Kalli," Vanessa said with a smirk. "Someone's trying to talk to you."
"Huh? What?" Kalli said confused, and then noticed the white haired meister.
"She wants to be your partner," Vanessa added.
"Oh. No." Kalli said, and then went abruptly back to her book. Vanessa just laughed and continued on.

Crevan tucked away his needle and got up from his position under the tree. He figured that the persistent meister who had been bothering him had probably moved on he jumped back over the fence, managing to not accumulate another rip in his clothing. As he looked around for the nag, he noticed three girls off to the side. Two were meisters and the other a weapon. It appeared as if one of the meisters, the one with white hair, was attempting to convince the weapon that she would be a more suitable partner, and went completely ignored. He burst into laughter at about the same time as the short brunette.
"Looks like your unwanted here." he said.

Vanessa eyed the newcomer closely. He looked like the boy she had seen jumping the fence, but she could not see any rips in his hoodie. Odd. Maybe he'd changed. Or knew how to sew, not that that seemed likely.
Kallie wasted no time in observation. One quick glance revealed his lack of nametag and so she simply asked: "Who are you? And what do you want?"
edensbane
"Crevan's the name, and I figure that with a Morrdinae around, anybody who might recognize me as a Renard would ignore me and try for her." He said, with a grin to match his namesake, as he held his hand out to the taller girl.
"Besides, its kinda hard to make friends when half the people around want something from you, and the other half think you want it from them. I'm guessing you two are already matched up, so there's no issue." He continued glancing between the two of them, making the statement a question.

"Being your partner? Well you do have the most interesting wavelength around...why not" Soren forced a smile, "So...whats with said wavelength anyways? I feel like it should be giving me the chill, but it feels more, hmmm, comfortable?" Soren scratched his head, not knowing how to fuly explain what he meant.
Dirus
Seth smiled, "You realize it after the first time we fight someone. Trust me." He looked at Soren, still smiling and said, "You don't have a bad wavelength yourself. This should be interesting." Seth stood up and held out his hand, "Shall we?" He asked.

Vanessa finished scrutinizing Crevan as Kalli nodded in confirmation. Yes, they were partners already, and there was no way that was going to change.
"Hi," Vanessa said in a far more friendly tone then any had heard her use previously. "My name is Vanessa, and this is my partner Kalli. You already have a partner then? Who is it?"
Omnial
Soren frowned, "Must we? I was just getting comfortable." He sighed and stood up, dusting his rear off. "Well then, want to test out how well you can handle me?" he took Seth's hand, and Soren's other hand turned into a blade.
Dirus
Seth grinned, "But we have no one to practice on." He said in a sarcastically whiny voice. "Or do we.." Seth's steely white eyes narrowed when he spotted a pair. They were two boys, one was scrawny but had an angled, handsome face, the other was kinda short and wore glasses. "Think I found us a couple of punching bags." He said to Soren.
Omnial
"Don't break them," Soren chuckled as he turned fully into a weapon and landed in Seth's hands, "Well, our wavelengths are stable, and I think I understand what you were saying before." His face reflected in the blade, "You are definently better then my last partners."
Dirus
"No promises." Seth grinned. It felt weird, but not bad to finally have a weapon in his hands. Seth noticed that they're wavelengths were already at a 75% sync rate. "Seems you're pretty tolerant. Sweet." Seth said kinda quietly to Soren as he approached the pair of boys in front of them. The tall one, Evan was his name, looked at Seth and Soren and smirked. "I take it, by the fact that you're partner is already in weapon form that you wish to fight me, yes?" He said in a whiny voice. "Do you really think you can beat the already undefeated team of Evan and Richard?!" He asked, pointing dramatically at Seth. Seth raised his eyebrow, Is this guy for real? He asked Soren via the telepathic link between Meister and Weapon.

"Well?!" Evan was practically shrieking now. Seth sighed and fixed the prick with a cold glare, "Yes."
edensbane
"No, no partner. I'm solo." He replied, "And I'm not looking, I'm gonna do this on my own. I've already managed to nab a few souls on my own."
He sighed, "Besides, meisters never know how to properly wield a rapier anyway. More emphasis on skill then on speed or strength. What type of weapon are you anyway?" he asked Kalli.
shelvesinthecloset
"Hello, I'm a Morrdinae. Flambard. Duh." Kalli turned from Craven abruptly at the sound of commotion, searching for trouble.
"Yeah," Vanessa said quietly. "Let's go check it out. You coming Craven?" she asked over her shoulder as the two began walking towards the group that was gathering around four boys - two of which were the ones Vanessa had been angling to meet all morning.
Omnial
"I give him one good hit and he will go down, looks like a pansy hiding behind a macho attitude. I bet if we forced a bit of extra energy out at the first hit, the weapon would cry." Soren chuckled. Now lets see if you are able to use me to my fullest Seth. Soren adjusted his wavelength just the slightest bit to see if Seth would find it harder or easier to fight.
edensbane
"Looks like trouble. I'm there." he said, falling into step beside Vanessa. It It seemed like a fit was brewing up ahead and he wanted to see the results.

Richard, Evan's weapon quickly turned into Kikuchi yari and flew into Evans hands. "Impressive, huh?" He said with a arrogant smirk.
"Sure, he's a pretty stick, but doesn't he look a little...I dunno...brittle to you? But then again I guess it's all up to how you use him!" With an emphasis on use, Seth swung Soren in a horizontal arc, taking a step forward so as to not hit Evan with the tip of the blade but the cross section of the sickle and the straight-edge of the blade. Evan moved quickly and went to block the attack, which was somewhat successful. Sorta. Evan was expecting an attack, a normal, horizontal slash. What he got, was a wavelength charged attack. Sure Evan blocked the attack, but he was sent flying into the school building as well.. Seth let out a calming breath to stabilize his breathing. Although it was easy for him to control his wavelength, he still had a risk of losing himself in the fight, not that it was much of a fight though. "What? You done already, pansy!?"
"HAHAHAHAHAHAA!! As if that weak little shock could harm me!!" Evan stood up from a pile of ruble, his clothes torn here and there as well as sporting a few scratches.
Seth grinned, "Good, now I get to have some more fun!" He jumped at Evan and slashed downwards, he missed, but just barely, allowing Evan to scramble away like the little pansy he was. It's a little off-set because of the extra weight at the tip... He thought to himself, Should try some light attacks to see how maneuverable I can be with such a weapon. Seth stood up and looked for Evan. Nowhere. He looked up, Predictable. Seth held up Soren to block Evan's vertical air attack, but instead of just blocking, Seth tilted Soren downwards a bit so when the Richard hit Soren's blade, he slid down to the sickle part of the sword. In an instant, Seth swung Soren down diagonally to the right, not only locking up Richard's weapon body tightly to Evan's, but also by using their own momentum he drove them both into the ground. Seth didn't follow through though, due to the fact that if he did, he'd probably end up killing them on their first day to Shibusen. Seth stepped over Evan and crouched, placing his knee on Evan's chest while hoisting Soren over his shoulder so the sickle part of the blade was hanging over his left shoulder, leaving it's menacing shadow on Evan's neck and giving Seth the appearance of a grim reaper. "The reason why you were undefeated," He leaned in close to Evan, "Was because you haven't fought anybody yet. I hate arrogant guys like you." Seth's voice was as cold as ice then he stood up and let go of Soren, returning him back to his human form. "Well then! That was sure fun! Lets do that again sometime, okay?" He said like he had just ridden a really fun carnival ride. Evan nodded, scared out of his mind because of the sudden change in character then quickly ran into the school, bawling, his partner Richard followed in the same manner.

"Told you he would cry." Soren let out a yawn and waved his hand in front of his mouth, "That was entertaining to say the least, it was interesting to see how you handled it after I adjusted my wavelength. I think I have a basic grasp on how you are. Your darkness will become your light, just wait and see." Soren was emotionless in his speech, and ended by scratching his head, "Well looks like that was finished before a teacher could even suprivise it, nice." He let out another yawn and then sat back on the ground, "Seems we made a rucuss though." he was talking about the others who had come to watch it.
Dirus
Seth put his right hand on his hip, chains from his wrist dangling and lightly tapping the metal on his belt and sighed, "Yeah, I guess we kinda did." He chuckled a bit, My darkness will become my light, huh? I like the sound of that. Seth thought with a grin. "That was totally worth it just to see them cry." He commented the shoved his hands in his pockets. "Dammit...I'm bored again." Seth complained after a yawn.
edensbane
"Boredom can be alleviated in many ways, combat is only one. Another is making new friends. Though new enemies are also fun." Crevan said smiling to the apparently bored individual. "Which would you prefer to make today?" His forefinger became silvery and sharp. A slight precaution, just in case.
Omnial
Soren let out a sigh, "Too much violence rots the soul. If Seth wishes to fight you, this time he fights alone, I want to take a nap." he chuckled then yawned and finally stood up, "I am Soren Waltz. Partner of Seth. And although I do not mean to speak for someone I recently met, I doubt he should be beating up so many students in the first day." he shrugged, "Although watching it would relieve me of my boredom."
edensbane
Crevan sighed with relief, fighting the meister and the weapon would have invariably ended in his getting his butt kicked. His martial skills (though formidable) were all but useless when he came up against soul wavelength attacks. His forefinger lost its silvery sheen and became human again.
"Crevan Renard, partner to no one." He replied, then with a mischievous smile he continued, "And allow me to present to you partners Vanessa, meister, and Kalli, weapon." His smile and flourishing bow emphasized the slight mocking tone of his words.
shelvesinthecloset
"Oh, gee. Thanks for that lovely introduction Crevan," Vanessa said a trifle sarcastically as she curtsied in response to his mock formality. She was, however, glad to have finally met the two. They seemed like they might present exactly the challenge and opportunity she was looking for. "Only you forgot to mention both our beauty and our awesomeness. See that it doesn't happen again, okay?" She flashed him a teasing smile. She nudged Kalli, who was looking at the group with an arched eyebrow.
"Hello," Kalli said with a nod and a sigh. She did not want to talk to any more people today. Especially people who picked fights. "Why were you fighting?"
edensbane
"Je suis desole beau femmes a grand tetes, I will remeber to be more presice at a later date." Crevan deadpanned. He also took a couple steps back, believing he recognised the look in Vanessa's eyes. Soren may have been done with violence but it appeared to Crevan that that may be exactly what Vanessa was looking for. He did not want to be in the way if Vanessa was fighting, she had an unstable air to her, and apparently she weilded a Flambard, not exactly a weapon known for presision.
Dirus
Seth looked at the three people in front of him and Soren. "My partner is right, I don't wish to fight. The one was enough for the day." He placed a pale hand on his forehead and sighed. "The reason for the fighting, was to not only prove to Soren that I was indeed a capable fighter and partner for him, but also to get used to the feel of such an unique weapon type like his." Seth explained, turning to the girl named Kalli. "My name is Seth Desdemona by the way." He said, bowing slightly to the group of people.

(I think it is time for us to meet one of the teachers, yes?)

All the comotion made by the fight that Seth and Soren were in seemd to finally have attracted the attention of one of the school's teachers, Although it was a little suprising that it took him so long to get there. "Who was fighting over here? I would like to speak to those involved, thats just the kinda of mine I was." Sid, the zombie teacher had arrived on the scene.

Soren looked to him while sitting on the ground, "It wasn't really a fight so much as throwing a new student around." he started to play with his finger nails, he held his hand out and looked at it, "We made them know that an ego can only lead one so far without anything to back them up." He was trying very hard to twist the wording to make it seem like they had been doing the right thing, typically this would get him out of trouble, but not with Sid.

"Very convincing story, that sounds like somthing I would have let slide before, but not this time." Cid stood over Soren trying to look menacing, "So you were involved then Soren? but I don't see your partner? did you get a new one again?"

"Yup, this one doesn't suck." he pointed at Seth, unknowingly ratting out his partner.
Dirus
((Good idea.))

Seth smacked his forehead with his right hand, "Dammit Soren..." He complained then looked at Sid, "Yes, we were involved in a fight, but Soren isn't lying."

Vanessa debated whether or not to try and get them out of trouble. On the one hand it might make them all 'friends' but on the other hand she wouldn't mind watching them squirm a little.
Kalli started forward to say something, but Vanessa touched her arm, quietly warning her to let it go. She wanted to see what the boys would do, and then she would decide whether or not they would try and help.
edensbane
"I would hardly call it a fight, more of a... male bonding ritual, professeur ((spelled this way on purpose shelvesinthecloset, its said in french))," Crevan said to the zombie in his most innocent voice. "Just four new friends testing each others skills. Nothing to worry about." He accompanied the innocent voice with an innocent smile.

((I haven't said a word about anyone's spelling or grammar this whole time edensbane!! But thanks for clarifying. Oh, and you can just call me Shelves. My name is way too long))

Kalli stepped forward, ignoring Vanessa's warning hand. "No one was hurt, sir," she said, looking directly into Sid's eyes. Her unblinking and cold stare usually made others uncomfortable, but since Sid was a zombie she didn't expect it to have at all the same effect. "It seems these two felt a fight would be necessary before they could become partners, and since that was the purpose of this whole morning it would be a little unfair to punish them, don't you think?"
Vanessa remained silent, one hand tightened into a fist. She wished Kalli wouldn't be so interfering. She took a deep breath and quickly relaxed, a smile on her face. "Yup," she said sunnily. "No problems here, sir. We're all just ready and excited to start training at the Academy!"

(OoC: Characters from the series are open, I don't have to conrtol them. :/ )

Sid looked a them all and nodded, "Very convincing, I would have let you all off. That was just the man I used to be." He pointed towards a door, "Get to class now though, next time I won't be so nice." He kicked Soren.

"Yes your hospitality is much appriciated." Soren rubbed his rear, and got up, "Well, we should be off shouldn't we? as dull as the first day usually is, I am sure something can be learned, weither taught by the teacher or the student sitting in front of you." he shrugged and started walking, stopped for a moment and let out another yawn.
Dirus
Seth just sighed and shrugged, following his partner inside. The halls were lit with big candles mounted on the walls and ceiling. Once they were inside, it seemed like a normal school. Kinda. Not really but still, it was a school none-the-less. Seth leaned forward so Soren could hear him, "Do you know where our homeroom is?" He asked.
edensbane
As Sid left Crevan relaxed his posture and let out a sigh, "I wonder what they're going to teach us, other then combat and soul manipulation techniques, what do we really need to be taught?" Crevan asked looking at the rest of the group, his tone and expression normal as opposed to the innocent facade he had put on for the teacher.
Omnial
"Not a clue." Soren shrugged, he wasn't the type to worry, he was sure that eventually they would run into someone who thought it would be important and they would be lead in the right direction, but till then a nice stroll might wake him up.
shelvesinthecloset
"Honestly," Vanessa huffed as Kalli pulled a map out of one of her pockets. "Didn't any of you stop at the Orientation Booth? Lead the way, Kalli. The sooner we get to homeroom the sooner we can make you a deathscythe. Let's go."
edensbane
"Whats orientation?" Crevan asked as he moved to follow the two girls. He leaned over to look at the map in Kalli's hand, confusion was evident on his face as he tried to decipher the mass of squiggly lines.
shelvesinthecloset
"You know that table you stopped at to get your meister/ weapon label?" Vanessa said, turning to face Crevan. "There. They had maps too. Wait...where's your label?"
Kalli was staring intently at the map, turning it this way and that as she tilted her head from side to side.
"Can someone help me figure this out, please?" she sighed.
Dirus
Seth yawned and shoved his hands in his pocket, slouching as he walked. Soren was right, if Kalli didn't find the way, someone else would. He was too tired to care, Seth was never really a morning person.
edensbane
"I got rid of it, I don't want a partner so the tag was useless anyway." He looked back at the map that Kalli was holding, "Peut-etre l'etoile est ou on besoin d'aller? Oh, wait sorry, maybe the stars our destination?" He pointed out a five pointed star on the map. He looked around for any land marks that may be near them, pointing to what looked like the tree he had sat under earlier, "I think this is back over there." He pointed over by the fence he had jumped over. Following the odd lines he took to be routes he found the path to the classroom. "I think if we go over that fence back there and take the second right we'll be here, and that should lead directly to the star."
shelvesinthecloset
"You know I don't speak a word of French, right?" Kalli said, looking at Crevan reproachfully.
"Here, let me see," Vanessa butted in. "No. That's not the fence. That's the wall over there. Honestly. We go this way, come on. Everybody follow me!" She shouted as she marched off.
Kalli just shrugged, shaking her head a little. "We are so going to get lost," she muttered under her breath as she took off after her friend.
edensbane
"I know you don't speak french, that's why I translated." H said as he walked beside Kalli, "and yes I do believe your right, lost we will be following Vanessa, but lets be honest, we'll probubly learn more practical knowledge following her then we will going to any class." He gave Kalli his most charming smile.

Soren pointed to his left, "We need to go down this hall, take another left, walk for 12 meters, take a right, go up the stairs, then a right turn and its the third door on the left." Soren spoke without emotion then scratched his head, "I have been here before, I had two other partners, I know my way around, it looks like she was going to go to the 'dungeon' " he made quotations with his fingers, "Reading a map isn't any of your forte, I will have to remember that." he held his hand out and observed his nails.
