1st Idea...

So after the immense success of my Fallout RP (Yeeaahh......), I've decided to try my hand at another RP. Here's the idea, which is also sort of a problem:
A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, I made an oath to play each and every LEGO game that was released for the Xbox 360. Why? So that I'm not restricted to the same 'BANG BANG, SLASH OF DOOM' games that I usually rent and buy. So recently I rented LEGO Harry Potter. Now I hate Harry Potter 1, 2 and 4, but 3, 5 and 6 were...... well good in my opinion. Mainly because they had more good old fashion Magical battles, introduced a bunch of badass baddies, and the plot had a much darker tone in each. For this reason, the MAD idea came to me of making a Harry Potter RP here on the site. It would NOT be based on the actualy Harry Potter timeline, meaning none of the events from the series have happened, and only a few select characters will be included (namely the founders of Hogwarts, and the people that I see as COOOOOOOOL). You could play as a student or Teacher: Students have limited spell and potion knowledge, though you can choose the year you're in-- the higher the year, the better your knowledge. Teachers then, automatically have advanced knowledge.

On top of this, there are several spell 'Types'. Charms (Mainly for common house-hold and work deeds, such as lifting objects, or making plants sprout out of mud/soil), Dueling (Various spells which are used in combat, but are non-lethal), Transfiguration (The act of transforming objects for teh lulz), Defence Against The Dark Arts (various spells used to counter or block/negate spells thrown at you), Political Standard Spells (Spells taught to high-ranking officials, and civil defence workers for security use) and finally the Dark Arts themselves, which are Lethal and forbidden, and used in combat. Also, the act of Potion Brewing can be learnt, each Potion offering different benefits and sometimes liabilities.

In order to learn new Spells and Potions, students would have to attend classes, which would naturally, be taught by the Teacher characters. Teachers, instead of choosing their 'Year', would choose a 'Subject'-- this is the subject that they specialize in and teach.
The plot revolves around the Death Eaters, and all those shenanigans-- basically, the Death Eaters (Wizards and Witches who specialize in the Dark Arts), led by Lord Voldemort, are planning an assault on Hogwarts, and thanks to outside political contacts the higher ranking heads of Hogwarts have been informed of it giving them some time to prepare.

However, a head on assault by a large group of dark, powerful Magisters would be far too much for the Teachers and Students alone to handle. And so, Hogwarts must unleash their deepest, darkest secret. A Staff of immense power, capable of annihalating even the most powerful armies. However, this Staff requires a very special, particularly powerful set of hands before it can be wielded, and before even these hands can wield it, a set of dark conditions must be complete.
These hands, and these conditions, WILL be met. Or it will be the rise of an eternal, powerful darkness.
So uh.... what does everybody think?

2nd Idea...

This second idea is one I've been bouncing around my mind for a while, and even though it has NOTHING to do with it, I got the idea while watching the 'Big Bang' episode of Doctor Who. Why? God only knows :-/
Basically, every star in the Milky Way is actually home to a 'Council', each Council consisting of a group of powerful beings called 'Pure Ones'. Every Pure One in existence wields a single type of power. This power is the ability to manipulate something at will, such as fire or water, though it can be more or less anything. BUT, the 'Thing' that they can manipulate is different for each Pure One, meaning no two EVER have the same power.

Scattered throughout the Milky Way, there are also Hidden Planets called 'Bells'. Each bell is the home of a different Race or Species, and any one of these races. The secret to these Bells, is that they can only be seen when at least 2 Pure Ones perform a certain Ritual, and even then, it is only visible for 10 hours, and only by those involved in the Ritual. After 10 hours, anybody left on the Bell will be unable to leave-- Pure Ones aren't meant to exist on these planets, so after 10 hours, if they have not escaped the Bell they will be forever lost in time, appearing, disappearing and re-appearing in every single half split-second of time that ever has or will exist forever.

Many years ago, there was one particular Council of Pure Ones that maintained control of the Milky Way, fairly and justly. But a catastrophe of enough proportions to seperate them occurred, however they are the only ones who know of this 'Catastrophe'. Now, this Catastrophe threatens to return once again, so now the whole of the Council located near Mercury, being the only ones aware of this mysteious catastrophe's return, must gather the members of the once powerful Council that was seperated by this catastrophe, and with their help, plan ahead to fight back the threat. Finding them all, won't be easy however.

I plan for this one, if anybody is interested, to be in a sort of 'Episodic' form-- various storyline will begin and end like a storyline, and all of these will contribute to locating the next member of the Pure Ones that were seperated years ago. I have plenty of big plot twists in mind... so is anybody interested?

So there they are, my two nerdy ideas.... what do ya'll think? Would anybody be interested in either of these two, or should I just bury them both before they begin? Personally, I prefer the idea of the 2nd one, since the Harry Potter one was really just a spur of the moment thing, and I haven't thought about the plot as much as I'd like to have... DISCUSS OPINIONS!!

I'm mildly interested in both, though they will both need a lot of work before I'm too fussed about joining.
if I had to pick one it would be the first, but I don't see much room for plot.

Which is the main problem with the first. Making a decent plot that can involve everyone in a Harry Potter RP would be a pain.
So the generic search for epic doomsday weapon was the best I could do.

That's why I'm more-so drawn to the 2nd.

You have ideas, but not enough information or usability to create realistic and sustainable characters or plot. To work on these ideas could mean you would fulfil a great gap in the RP genres, but if not, then i suspect these might not pick up from what you have given so far.

I love the first idea xD

Well you'd note-- these are only rough plot guidelines :-P

There's nothing mentioned regarding character creating, combat, themes involved or even where the players involved will be visiting throughout the RP. Maybe filling them in, along with a bit of info on each for those who aren't familiar with either universes (Universii?) would help. It's not like ANYONE can be familiar with the 2nd idea. whereas the 1st idea is popular, and a lot of people understand the univere of Mista' Potty. For that reason, there's no point going into as much detail on the world it's set in, except by linking to the ever almighty Wikipedia.

Maybe a bit more on each would help. So does anyone have any ideas on how to improve these two, or even just one of them?
Basically, the HP theme is simply a 19th century style world, where magic can be used for literally anything common, from cleaning the dishes to giving food to the dog. Hogwarts is a bit more Medieval however, being a massive caste located on an island. To get to the lake surrounding the Castle however, you need to get the train from platform ''9 - 3/4''. So that's basically where players would start. At the platform, ready to get onto the train. From there, we'd speed through the trip, have a few character-to-character conversations, and BOOM. Cue Hogwarts.

The second one is set during WWII, but the Bells and Stars, known only to the Councils, are all hugely Cyber-Punk based. Eh, I can't go into too much more detail since... anything else would be a spoiler, and would explain how to kill the big baddie wink.gif
All players would be from the Star near Mercury, the one searching for the members of the 'Central Council' (I've given it a name now!), known as 'Pure Remnants' (They have a name now, too!?). The first destination is 'Silpuck', a Bell situated not far from Earth. It's been at war with the 'Porkiv' race, from the Bell of 'Roastok'.
So that's where players would begin in this one-- peparing for the trip to Silpuck. One thing I didn't mention, is how they manage to travel through space: they make the ritual if they plan on going to a Bell, and then jmp. No, no, not 'Jump'! Rather they sort of phase through reality. Instead of them going to their destination, their destination kind of comes to them. Yeah I know, confuzzling.
