Full Version: (SOLVED) Battle Backgrounds not appearing

The battle background for older enemies are showing up fine, but if I try to copy and paste those or add another enemy...well, the battle processing runs fine in that you can fight them, but there's no battle background, just a black screen. The backgrounds appear on the Battle Test screen, but not in the game itself.

I'm using a few user-created scripts: Hermes, plus Amaranth's Commercial Game Kit (there are others too, but since the 'working' enemies - ie, the ones where the background appears - were added after these scripts, they're probably not the problem).

Does anyone have any ideas? I'm really not a scripter so I don't have a clue how to go about fixing this smile.gif Any help would be gratefully received.

Have you checked to make sure your TILESETS matched your Battle Background? When a Tileset doesn't have the correct Background or none at all, your battle background will appear black in game. (or if it's incorrect, like the Snow Town having a Desert Battle Background, you'll see the incorrect background)

Well, since it is only an image showing it shouldn't be any problem if an other image is chosen. But as Teriki said in the Database>Tilesets, the Battleback Graphic may be set to "None".

Oh brother sweat.gif

I am such an ignoramus (Albeit an ignoramus who's just had a long giggle at her own ignoramusness wink.gif) I'd used imported tilesets before but never staged a battle on them...the 'Battle Back' switch just didn't register. God knows why. Sorry for posting such a painfully obvious question smile.gif

Anyway, thanks so much for the help; just tried fixing the tileset battle background and wiping out a mutant plant in the cellar, and it worked great biggrin.gif

Well. There may be more people with the same "obvious" problem, and then they can just look here, so the topic isn't a total waste of space tongue.gif
