OK in my game I'm having a world map but because of the size i'm making my it i'm having to divide it into segments. So what i need to know is how big can maps be before lag starts to become an issue?

I find that if I keep it under 100 X 100 I don't have as much lag.
Off tangent: btw is that your name stargate inspired?

Depends on the number of parallel events and background scripts you have running. If there are none, you can basically make it as big as you want. If there are a ton, not so much. 100x100 is really small. I think 500x500 is totally reasonable unless you are doing crazy stuff that you know is going to cause lots of lag.

And of course it depends on how good your computer is.
