Full Version: CT battle system?

I downloaded Claimh's Chrono Trigger Battle System Scripts with the hopes that they would let me actually make CT style battles. Uh... no such luck.

This script does allow a sort of side-view battle, and it allows you to make a map be the battle background. However what it doesn't seem to allow is what actually gives CT battles their unique gameplay style - moving enemies (preferably animated), and attacks that affect geometric regions on the screen (centered around the target, centered around the user, or covering a set region of the screen). It also gives no apparent indication of how I can set different poses and combat animations for party members, although I'm hoping that's just a lack of documentation rather than a lack of functionality.

So what I am asking is whether there's an existing CBS script that will let me do real CT style battles with all the key features, or whether I will have to design this myself from scratch. Any direction in my search for knowledge would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Atoa made a CBS that has a chrono trigger battle add on. I saw it on rmvxp.com its the ACBS by Atoa

Atoa's addon is brilliant. It is a vastly superior addon for CT style battles, and I'm now planning on using it. But it still doesn't handle the extra things I mentioned.

So I resubmit my question: Is there an addon that lets me create attacks that target geometric regions on the screen? Like in Chrono Trigger there are skills that target a 60 pixel radius around an enemy, or that target a 10 pixel wide line between the user and the enemy. This is what I want to do.

The moving enemies I think should be trivial enough to handle myself, but finding an addon that allows geometric area effects on attacks would save me dozens of hours.
