Full Version: Game Over Event

Comrade Corwin
As I stated, I've taken on this project and have said that I wont use advanced scripting to get the job done. Until now, that actually made things pretty easy. However, I've come upon a bump...

I'm trying to make this game really easy, so I want to kind of make it hard to get a Game Over. I want to make it so that when the whole party dies, it transports them to a map called "Death's Lair". There they can either battle him, gamble him or take one of his many challenges in order to get a second chance. I had a plan in mind using only events, common events and triggers, but it became so complicated that my head nearly exploded... to top it off, it didn't work, so I scrapped the system. I'm kind of surprised that "If Entire Party's HP is 1% or lower than Transfer Player to (whatever)" isn't already a Conditional Branch choice. I've tried making it so that when you are within a predetermined party there is Trigger and when each character has the "Death" status all the right Triggers are ON and so you are transfered, but there seems to be a wrench in that system similar to how events at the end of a battle where the last monster dies don't get activated. At least that is what I think is wrong.

Anyway, can anyone or has anyone taken on my challenge? Trying to create a Game Over alternative event without advanced scripting, that is. If you have, please help.

I don't think you can do a game over event without any scripting at all. However, you can copy a "Skip Title" script and modify it a bit so that it overwrites Scene_Gameover. Or something like that.
