Hey guys, is it possible for a character to serve the role of a 'Tank' in RM?

I mean, I'm thinking a sort of system where there are a number of moves, each of which draw certain amounts of aggro from a certain amount of enemies. (Like, take all hits from all enemies for 2 turns, or something like that.)

I'm thinking common events, or something... I'm not sure, it's kinda got me stumped. But is there a way that somebody knows of that can help me out? I'd really appreciate any advice you guys'd be willing to share.

Thanks in advance! biggrin.gif

Fantasist from Chaos Project made a script for that, I never tested it but it seems very good.

The above script mentioned, while very cool, does not work with enemy forced actions. So, in one way it makes the battles more interesting by putting in an aggro element but in another, it takes away a number of interesting possibilities by removing force action. Depending on what you want to do with your game, you'll basically end up in the same place as far as battles go. You give up something to get something.

What I have done is given a couple of characters skills connected with common events in the troops information. It pretty much gives the characters a chance based on their STR to put a threat state onto the enemy. In the troops info, It checks if the enemies have the state and if they do, they attack the player that put it there. It is pretty elaborate and drawn out as far as making it work and the amount of conditions and checks but I did not want to sacrifice the ability to use forced actions with enemies.

Yanfly's made a similar script before in VX.

I'd imagine it'd be possible for XP, too.
