In 2010 a new scientist called Dr Borvati developed a cure for cancer. within 10 hours of the cure being administered, patients began to act strangely. In 24 hours they died. storeys in papers began to circulate about scratching noises from graveyards. On the 26th of may 2011 the dead began to rise. all Cancer related deaths from the last year, rose out of their graves, and wreaked havoc around them. In 2012 the world went into a sate of emergency. The remaining government members hatched a plan for the future. 2021 With the world in pain and havoc no new advancements in technology where made, The havens where completed., Vast inpeniterable fortresses where erected to hose the wealthy of planet earth. Out-side the havens the earth has reverted to wasteland. Except from the crumbling cites and towns of the old world. the world is Dieing... With the survivors of the world making air communication impossible the runners where formed. Now in 2030 the Zombies have begun to change. Another scientist has captured live Zombies and has compiled his findings in Haven 7. After copies being sent, without success, to the other remaining Havens one more Copy is being sent to Haven 1 with a hand picked Runner teem form Haven 7. Anyone who got their hands on the content of this package will change the world...

"RIGHT, LISTEN UP!" captain smith walked up and down the line of runners. "Each of you carry a package... Only one of these packages contain the real package. Do NOT LOOSE THESE PACKAGES!"Smith stopped at the end of the line and squared up to William Talbot "and you shall not open any of them, under pain of death." James Mathews, the leader of the runners team. stepped up to the 6 other runners "Zombies like to hide in shadow, it slows down the rotting, but we have to leave while havens shadow covers the gate. Keep moving, and kill any zombie that gets in your way. The guard will deal with the rest. Any questions?"

Then without warning the Haven gate began to open." no time. Run!" James began to pound towards the gate as zombies began to enter the passageway through Havens outer wall.
Satou Asahira
Siegmund had been leaning against a wall while Captain Smith was giving his speech to the runners. He didn't care what he was saying, he was just waiting to get out of here and maybe run into Sieglinde. He hadn't heard from her in months. Just then, the gates flew open and zombies began pouring in. "Oh, son of a-" He was cut of by Captain Smith telling them to run. He unstrapped his rifle from his shoulder and began picking off the zombies that got close to the runners. "This'll never work..." He began to move forward, taking out zombies with his sword. "Clear the path!" he yelled to the other guards. "We can't let them into Haven!" Something wasn't right though. Why did the gates open without warning? Did someone plan this? If this is how the rest of the trip will go, the runners won't be safe alone. He had heard James was the best of the runners and dashed to catch up with him. "I'll protect you. Let's get moving!"

Meanwhile...

"Oh, thank you, Sieglinde," an old woman said. She had fallen while crossing a river and sprained her ankle. Sieglinde had been passing by and stopped to give her first aid. "I don't know what we'd do without you. You're like our guardian angel."
Sieglinde smiled at that. "Oh, no. I'm just doing what any human being would do," she said as she wrapped a bandage around the woman's ankle.
"Any human being except those in the Havens. Heartless bastards," the woman spat.
"Not everyone there is bad," Sieglinde said sadly. She was thinking about her brother, Siegmund. "My brother works hard as a guard to protect us. Even if we don't see it, he's out there fighting."
Sparrowsmith
Will stood straight and calm as the gate opened.
He searched various escape options, knowing that the guards could kill the zombies, and that it was his duty to run. And run he did.
Running straight down the middle of the battle, he jumped straight onto a brutish zombie and leaped from it onto a sentry window on the door.
He found a nearby flagpole and used the rope from it to swing down onto the other side of the battle.
Upon hitting the ground, he leant down and took out his Eagles.
He ran straight and narrow, not looking back or around for his allies. Up ahead an abandoned guard tower came into view, he sprinted up its wall and climbed from ledge to ledge. Finally he lifted himself onto the top.
A pair of diseased eyeballs met his.
Pulling the trigger, he mimicked the sound, "Bang" he laughed.
He took a brief moment to search for supplies while the zombie fell over the side. After finding nothing, he turned back to the others below him.

(I would like to say that you can pick up new weapons and equipment throughout the RP, but at the beginning most people will have survival packs with them. this includes the combat knife I was using.
James dived between a zombie's legs slicing a combat knife up and around. Straitening up he fired two shots in to a zombie before the chain guns started firing. Zombies went down around him. Checking the others they where making towards the three operational guard towers around the city.
James saw Will standing on-top of one of the towers that had been on the rebuild list. Making towards it James reloaded his rifle and slung it across his back. Sticking a zombie through the head he proceeded to jump up and on-to a Zombies shoulders and flit from one to another. God this virus makes the Zombies strong! A zombies hand almost closed around James' ankle.
"Will Check the ground floor for a vehicle." Speaking into his transmitter James jumped to the ground. "all package 1 runners split up and Rondavouz in new York outpost! Will Is there anything down there!"
(do the guards and renegades want me to give them a place to start?)

William nodded and opened up the hatch beneath him, revealing a ladder, he grabbed the handles and slid down them to the ground level.
He took out his flashlight and held it with his Eagle and combat knife. After searching the darkness for a few moments he deduced that any life down here wasn't once dead.
He checked a few of the vehicles in dim light, but none of them seemed to work.
A few trashed motorcycles, and a military jeep that was missing its keys.

Will thought for a moment, he had time to. He hopped in the jeep and began playing with the wires.
red to blue? blue to green?
wait wait... I remember.

the engine revved into life and William reversed it out of its space, turning to the rusted door he floored the pedal and braced himself...

... Bursting out of the other side, zombies and rusted metal flew through the air.
He reached for his transmitter, then spotted James. He gestured quickly while the zombie's approached
Kisuke Urahara
James leaped throgh the air and crashed through Zombies . Reaching the jeap. he Pulled off his rifle and sat in the back seats., Fireing at every Zombie in reach. (going to bed now don't expect antother post till mornig.)

William helped James in and put the pedal down, He reached for his transmitter, "This is William speaking on all runner channels. I have hot wired an abandoned army jeep. I am heading for new york outpost, the area is too busy to pick up runners in the meantime. If you require immediate assistance radio any channel, we'll be listening."
He placed it back and tried to get the CD player working, eventually it did, now they just needed a CD other than the military training disk.
Satou Asahira
"Tch, looks like I was left behind," Siegmund said. James and William hot-wired a jeep and were driving away. There were some motorcycles were the jeep was and he ran to see if any were in working order, fighting zombies on the way. He found one that he could get to run and hopped on. Zombies littered the road, if the destroyed stretch of land could be called a road. Wielding his sword with one hand and steering with the other, he cut through the zombies with ease. James and William were already making good progress right off the bat and Siegmund intended to keep it that way. He drove alongside them and gave them a thumb's up before pulling ahead of them to keep zombies from getting too close. He drove past two women near a river and paid them no heed.
"Siegmund!" Sieglinde cried as he rode by. He was followed by a jeep.
"Runners!" the old woman yelled. "We have to intercept their package!"
"No! Siegmund is with them! I don't want him to be hurt!"
"Stupid girl! Don't you realize the position we're in?!" The old woman's kind words turned harsh in a heartbeat. This always happened to Sieglinde. Whenever she tried to protect a runner or guard, the other Renegades scorned her and she was thrown out of whichever settlement she was staying at. "We have to stop them."
Sieglinde aimed a gun at the old woman. "No.." she said in an icy voice. "No harm will come to Siegmund." She pulled the trigger.
Sparrowsmith
Will glanced over at Siegmund, then grabbed his transmitter and set it to close distance, "Good to see you. Tell me if we pass an abandoned CD store, I've got a working stereo in this thing" he laughed, then he noticed some renegades by the river, "Looks like we're in renegade turf now, don't mention the rendezvous point."

They continued to drive, less undead in this area. It was hard to tell if the Renegades had driven them out, or if they'd just moved in during the absence.
"I don't like this..." William whispered.
Guyver's Bane
Ironheart watched as the Jeep was forced to stop. One of the renegades, a tall, filthy looking fellow, had jumped in front of the moving vehicle.
"Well well," the man said."What are a couple of Haven folk doing way out here? Looking for a fight are you?"
Both men in the jeep got out, brandishing the firearms. One of them holding two Desert Eagles. The other a sword.
"You wanna try scum bag?" the Sword man said. "Get out of our way we're busy."
"The way I see it, you're in our turf. So that makes me free to stop you if I feel like it." He said while scratching his scalp."Now I'll ask you again," he continued. "What are you two doing out here?"
Desert Eagle holstered his weapons and said, "We're not here to fight."
But the Filty man took a swing at Desert Eagle, he missed, and soon found Sword's blade thrusted through his chest. Filthy toppled over in a bloody heap. Ironheart stood watching, not really carrying that his comrade was slain.
"What are you waiting for freak?" Renegade 2 spat. "Kill them!" Without waiting the man charged with a knife. Desert Eagle made two quick shots stopping him dead.
Sword and Desert Eagle stood waiting for Ironheart. Slowly Ironheart removed his sword, two psitols and automatic rifle. An accepted sign of not fighting. He reached into his pocket, producing a crinkled and faded photo. He held his hands up and walked slowly to the two men.
Sword and Desert Eagle were confused, but lowered their weapons. Ironheart showed them the photo and asked, "Do you either of you recognize this man?"
They both studied the photo and said "No,"
Ironheart turned to leave, but he drew his knife threw it between the two men. It landed square in the forehead of a Zombie. The two men jumped back instinctively, weapons drawn. Ironheart walked past them and retrieved his knife from the corpses' skull. He re-equipped his armament, and said "You should leave. More of my people will be coming."
And with that he walked away towards the first lost Haven.

Seeing the guard and will take care of the situation, James got out of the jeep and got on Siegmund's motorcycle. "Guard, get in the jeep I'll go ahead and see who's already made it to the outpost!" As James speed along through the town he soon reached another patch of wasteland. Staying well clear of shadows James rode along to the fringe of new York. There had been a trade route between Haven 1 and 7 during the times when the Virus was still unknown due to there proximity. Well James restated his engin and went in search of the out post.
Sparrowsmith
After their incident with the renegades, Will continued on to the rendezvous point. Eventually, something caught his eye and he was forced to stop, he looked around, then got out the Jeep.
"I'll be one minute" he said, running into an abandoned shop he fired three shots, disappeared behind a desk, then resurfaced with an armful of CDs.
He hopped back in the Jeep and put some music on.
"We are young, we run green. Keep our teeth nice and clean. See out friends, see the sights, Feel alright!" Will sang vaguely, continuing the journey.
Satou Asahira
"Here," Siegmund said and reluctantly stepped away from the bike. "Watch yourself out there. I don't get paid nearly as much if you're dead." He watched James speed off then got into the Jeep. "Well, let's get going." William drove but eventually stopped in front of a CD store. "Oh for the love of-" Siegmund began but he was already gone. He aimed his rifle at the shop but it was too hard to see anything through the dusty windows. Eventually Will came back out and popped in one of his newly acquired CDs. He began to sing along and Siegmund groaned. This was going to be a long trip.

Meanwhile...

"Excuse me!" Sieglinde called after Ironheart. She had been chasing after Siegmund but didn't get far on foot. She had noticed Ironheart stop her brother and the runners for a moment before letting them continue on. "Excuse me!" she called again, this time almost right behind him. "Sorry to bother you, my name is Sieglinde. I was just wondering, by any chance do you know where that guard was heading to just now?"
Sparrowsmith
Will looked at Siegmund's unamused face, "Come on!" he laughed, "It's a classic. Supergrass is pure vintage, we're lucky I found this."
With some slight discomfort he turned it down, mostly because they were entering a darker part of town and didn't need extra attention.
"So..." William began, "How long you been running?" he asked, playing with the message he'd been chosen to carry.
"You ever wonder what's in these things?"
Guyver's Bane
Ironheart wasn't sure at first what to think of the woman calling him from behind. It was the first time one had willingly talked to him. He debated for minute whether or not acknowledge her, but curiosity got the best of him. Slowly, he turned to face her. Seeing her stunned look, Ironheart laughed a little inside. He couldn't imagine what this girl was thinking, seeing him there all dressed in his armor and mask. He wondered if she would run if he spoke. So he said:
"I don't know. Your not of Haven...." He said looking her up and down. "Do you need help?"
Satou Asahira
"Guard, actually," Siegmund said, grateful that William had turned down the music. "I've been doing this for 5 years for...personal reasons." He didn't really see the need to open up to his past to anyone, and certainly not to this guy he just met and will probably never see again after this job is finished. If they both survive that long. "I'm going to have to advise against opening that. They send guys like me to kill you if you do." He looked turned away and looked out the window. "Not that I care. I'm just in this for the money. Whether you open that or not doesn't affect my paycheck." On a whim, he decided to continue the conversation. At least it'd keep him from going bored out of his mind. "What about you? How long have you been doing this?"

Meanwhile...

Sieglinde jumped a bit when Ironheart turned around. He looked imposing beneath all that armor. She took a deep breath to gather her resolve and spoke: "My name is Sieglinde and I'm a Renegade like you. That guard..." she trailed off, wondering if this man would discriminate against her because of her brother too. Well, only one way to find out. "He's my twin brother, Siegmund. I haven't been able to see him in months and I was wondering if you knew where he was headed."
Sparrowsmith
Will looked over, "Oh, guard, eh?" he glanced to the road then back, "Personal? Well we've all got our reasons. I've been doing this about a year, maybe two or three, I don't really know, don't keep count of the days... I got into this after breaking into Haven 7, ex-renegade. Told I could live in the Havens if I ran, all there is to it. And I never dare open these things" he said briefly looking down at the message, "I just like to toy with them, play with the edges... Pretend I open it, learn somet shocking, y'know? Or maybe it's just some guys E-bay and we're the new internet" he laughed grimly, and began correcting his steering, he'd turned slightly off center while distracted, "Money don't mean a thing anymore... I just want to leave a home, then still have a home to go back to. Only home I ever had has five rotting corpses in it now, so it's not like Haven is trading down."

Will sighed, trying to stay optimistic but realizing it wasn't a cheery topic.
"Do you think they'll ever fix this? No more zombies and we all just... Pretend it never happened..."

OOC *This for you to use Satou. Ironheart takes his mask off to greet your character. His scar starts at the top right corner of his fore head, going diagonal between his eyes and ending at his jawline.*

Ironheart looked off in the direction the Runners had gone, and then back at Sieglinde. It was now that he noticed the resemblence.
"Brother.....I see." he said. "Sorry, but they didn't say." Ironheart frowned under his mask. How rude of himself not make his introductions. He unclipped the chin strap and slid his mask off. He wondered how Sieglinde would react.
"I'm Ironheart," he said. "Nice to meet you."
Satou Asahira
(OoC: You're getting the hang of it now, but technically making her blush and whatnot is still against the rules. Don't mean to call you out or anything, just letting you know. Had I posted before and said all that, you can restate it in your own post without controlling the other person's character since they already said how their character acted.)

Siegmund had been looking ahead through the scope of his rifle while listening to William talk. He saw a couple of zombies ahead, leaned out the window, and put a few bullets through them. Being a guard had its perks, his sniper rifle was the best money could buy. Complete with flashlight, laser sight, and silencer. He sat back down when he heard William allude to his family and home. "I can sort of relate. Home for me is an empty single bedroom apartment. No family to speak except my twin sister Sieglinde....who's a Renegade." Depending on William's reaction, he might have to kill him. "She's a good person though, she wouldn't attack us so we don't gotta fight her if we run into her. What she does is her business." He looked through his scope again. "Renegade outpost, how do you wanna handle this? We can take 'em out or try to go around. Up to you, I'm only your support."

Meanwhile...

Ironheart noticed Sieglinde had been staring at his mask and took it off to greet her, revealing a large scar across his face. Sieglinde winced at the sight of it, then became flustered. "Ah sorry, that was rude of me. That looks like it was a nasty wound. I, uh- It's nice to meet you. Are you heading back to a settlement? Maybe we could go together. I specialize in medicine and travel around helping people wherever I can. I've been alone for awhile and it'd be nice to have some company for a change. If you don't mind, that is."
Guyver's Bane
(OOC: I'll change it hold up. I get how you guys do it now. By the way where the hell are we?)
Sieglinde winced at the sight of his face. He couldn't blame her for doing so. She made a quick apology and asked a few questions. Ironheart reached up to touch the side of his face where the scar ended.
"It wasn't really that bad. " he lied. Truth was he almost died from it had it not been for Zeus. "Yeah I'm going to a place two miles east. If you want to come with I wont stop you. It's a little rough there though. Sure you can handle it?" Ironheart grinned, his scar giving him a murderous look. He hoped this girl knew what she was getting herself into.

"stop the Jeep!" James came skidding to a halt. "STOP!" James got off the bike and waited for his friends to slow down.
Sparrowsmith
William smiled lightly, "Family don't always turn out like you though, do they." He laughed a little, "Better a living renegade than a shifting corpse though... Besides, it's good to try and connect with these people... If we had the room we'd take them in, or I hope we would, but they're just too mad to listen now... Well, some of them are... You never answered m questi~"
Will glanced back to the road and quickly slammed on the breaks, wishing he'd worn a seatbelt he ended up half on the steering wheel.

He clambered out of the Jeep, "Hey James." he shouted over, "What gives?"
Kisuke Urahara
The renagade shot his gun up once into the air. "this should get their attention... They really are stupid. How long until we can get to haven 5?"
"bout a month at this rate." a second replied "if something dosn't excite them soon they'll rot while they walk."

" some renagades have driven azombie horde across our path well have to go around to the noth to avoid it." james walked the bike up to the window "want this back? found an abamdoned petrol station. shes full."

(OoC: No idea, GB. lol In the sign-up topic, KU said Haven 7 is in Lincoln Forest. I looked that up and that's in New Mexico so maybe we're in New Mexico. lol)

There was someone standing in the middle of the road. "Hey, look out!" Siegmund shouted. William slammed on the brakes. Siegmund threw his arms in front of his head to prevent himself from slamming face-first into the dashboard. He got out of the car with William and grabbed his weapons just in case. "Oh, it's just you," he said when he saw it was James. "What gives? I thought you'd be way ahead of us by now. Is everything ok?" He looked ahead through his scope. "It looks like they've seen us." He lowered the rifle and got back on the bike. "Thanks. You guys lead the way, I'll bring up the rear. As for the answer to your question," he said and looked at William. "No. If they could have done something, they would have by now. There's more to this than meets the eye and I intend to find out. No matter what it takes." He looked back at the package in the Jeep. What the hell's in there anyways? Why did they send me out here? He thought back to the briefing with Captain Smith.

-------

"Siegmund, there's a new job for you," Captain Smith had said. "It's top priority. Do this right and you'll be well on your way to a promotion."
"Oh yeah?" he had replied with a notable lack of interest. He had been staring out the window of the guard station in the direction of the gate to the wastelands. Sieglinde...Where are you...?
"The Runners have an especially important package to deliver. I'm dispatching several of the guards to ensure it gets there safely. I want you to pair up with one of the Runners and protect them as they go to one of the other Havens."
"Fine," Siegmund had said, then stood up. "If that's all, I'll be going now." He had left without waiting for Smith to say anything else.

-------

"Believe it or not, I can protect myself," Sieglinde said. The look on Ironheart's face made her a little uncomfortable but he seemed nice enough. It must be the scar that makes him look super tough. "I'm a decent with a gun and close-quarters combat, though I'd prefer it if it didn't come to that." She held out a canteen. "I have plenty of fresh water we can share if you'd like, though I'm running a bit low on food. You lead the way, I'll follow you."
Sparrowsmith
William looked down, almost disappointed, "Yeah... You're probably right..." He glanced at his own message then back up, then put his hands back on the wheel.
Once james was in the Jeep, Will turned and gave him a few CDs. "Pick on and put it on" he laughed, reversing the jeep so as to take the north road they just passed.
Guyver's Bane
(OOC-feel free to do some character control.)
Ironheart accepted the canteen Sieglinde offered him. He took a drink, wondering if there were other kind people like her still left.
"The place is near where Lincoln Forest once stood." he said to her. "I'm stopping there on my way to Haven 7."
Ironheart looked to the sun. Dusk was beginning to claim the day. If night fell while they were out in the open...
"It's not safe here," he warned. "We need to find shelter for the night. Someplace off the ground."
In the distance, a line of zombies emerged over the horizon.
Time was running out.
Satou Asahira
(OoC: Alright, cool. If you feel the need to do the same with Sieglinde to advance our little subplot, by all means help yourself.)

Siegmund felt a little bad for deflating William's hope but it was better this way. Better to face the truth now than to spend his whole life waiting for something that's not going to happen only to be crushed by the truth later. He looked back at the outpost, contemplating firing at it but decided against needlessly provoking the Renegades. Still, he had always wondered what would happen if they decided to use the zombies to their advantage. Quite the clever bastards, aren't they? Still, we Haven Dwellers have brought this on ourselves. He looked back to see William and James driving away and kick-started his motorcycle. "I swear to God if I here singing, I'm gonna have to put a bullet through your head," he said jokingly. It was odd. He didn't think he'd ever have friends again, but he felt some sort of connection with these two. Maybe Sieglinde was right, there was still hope for him to have feelings again. He drove to catch up to them.

Meanwhile...

"You're going to Haven 7?" Sieglinde asked Ironheart as he handed her back the canteen. She noted the setting sun with a little unease. "You're right, we should get out of here." She looked around. "Maybe we can find a Renegade outpost who'll let us stay there for the night. I'd hate to be just out here in the open if we can avoid it. I can't stand the sight of those things..." She wondered what would happen if she ran into her parents out there. Maybe they could talk a bit about old times before they devoured her flesh, wouldn't that be nice? She shivered. "Come on, let's get out of here."
Guyver's Bane
(OOC: This how we rped on my old haunt (forum). We controlled each others character the same we're doing now. But there were limits!)

It seemed like they had walked for hours before they came to a structure. Ironheart and Sieglinde peered into the darkness of the abandoned gas station. The windows were long gone, but the security gates were still intact. A rusted padlock was all that stood between them and shelter. Ironheart put his mask on, took out one of his pistols, and shot the lock off. He opened the door, expecting some rotting corpse to come stumbling at him. He waited and nothing happened. Then as if to be a gentlemen he steeped off to the side, and with both arms, gestured her to enter saying:
"Ladies first,"
Satou Asahira
(OoC: Ah, I see. It does make for an interesting change of pace. Every forum I've ever used for roleplaying has done it this way. I think this way could be fun too. You're more than welcome to proceed this way with my character.)

Sieglinde smiled. "Ah, why thank you kind sir," she said and walked inside. It was almost too dark to see so she pulled out a small flashlight and flicked the power on. She did a quick sweep of the room before flicking back off. "Sorry," she said. "I'm sure you know batteries are pretty rare out here and I don't want to waste them. It looks like there's a bit of food here but I'm sure it's gone bad by now. We can share the last bit of my food tonight. Give me a hand with this shelf real quick though." Ironheart entered the gas station and they moved a shelf in front of the entrance as a makeshift barricade. "Guess we should settle in for the night. I'll check around for some blankets or something." She looked in the back and eventually found some and handed a couple to Ironheart. She laid one down to cover the ground then placed her guns at the side before lying down on the blanket and pulling the other one over her. "I know this is coming out of nowhere but, do you believe in God? You might think it's silly since most people think no God would put us through this, but I pray for my brother's safety every night. Maybe it was God who brought us together. I'm not so naive as to think He'll deliver us from this whole ordeal but it's sort of comforting to think He's been watching me travel."
Guyver's Bane
(OOC: Now you're getting it! It's alot easier this way!)

The question was out of nowhere; did he believe in God? He had never thought about it much.
"I believe that we all have a purpose," he said fixing his bedding next to hers. "A reason for living. You live to protect your brother and I live...." he paused .What did he live for? Vengence? Life? "Well I just live to live."
He stripped down to his mask, shirt and pants, and laid down on his blankets and continued.
"I don't really see a reason for me to believe in God," Ironheart said. "Everythings already been taken from me." Reaching up to a candy rack he pulled down a chocolate bar. He unwrapped it and sampled.
It was still good after all these years.
A small taste of a past life.
"Thank you preservatives," he said. "Wanna try it?" he offered Sieglinde the candy.

OOC: if anyone wants to control my characters a bit their welcome can I do the same?
"turn left here." James pointed at a side road "We want to get to a little haunt I used to know before it gets so the zombies come out" James selected Not too late by three day grace. ooc:(good song! I suggest listening while reading.) The Jeep puled up next to a small one story shack. James got out of the car and stretched his legs "good to be home."

[ditto on the share here]

Will nodded along to the music, glad that there wouldn't be any complaining this time around. As it got darker he turned it down and off.
"nice place," will chuckled stepping out of the jeep, and towards the shack.
Kisuke Urahara
"don't go near that... Probably infested with Zombies" James turned around and saw Siegmund get off his bike. James counted out his steps and and stood on a hollow sounding patch of sand. Brushing some of the stuff away James pulled out a key and undid a lock set into a steel plate. "Guys, give me a hand with this."

After the plate had been lifted up James descended a small flight of steel steps before emerging into a room about the size of a storage container. The walls where lined with weapons and other equipment. "if you need a wash go to the third and last container. the second ones got two beds in. I'll sleep on the ground if you guys like?"
Sparrowsmith
Will watched James reveal a hidden cellar of some kind, then helped open it up.
As he descended the steps he found himself admiring the work James had done. He walked straight past James to the third container, then the second, then the third. He sparingly washed some dirt from a cut he'd gotten, and gave his face a quick wipe.
Will walked back through and shook his head, "I never feel safe unless someone's keeping watch. I'll stay up and you two can rest. In the morning I'll take a quick nap in the back of the jeep, and you can drive."
Without waiting for a response, Will pulled over a chair and took out his shotgun, sitting down he began stroking its sides.
"I know nothing will come, but I spent years as a renegade, and I just can't sleep unless I'm moving or being watched."
Satou Asahira
"That's my job," Siegmund said when Will suggested he stay up and keep watch. "Besides, I'm an insomniac. One to two hours of sleep is enough for me. I can wake you up if you really want to keep watch. You two get some rest. It's your job to make sure the package gets to the rendezvous point safely." He checked the water. It seemed good enough to drink so he scooped some into his mouth. He looked over at James and William. He always avoided people when he could but now he's stuck camping out with these two. Oh well, it's not all that bad. They seem nice enough.

Meanwhile...

"Something with enough preservatives to make it last this long can't be good for you," Sieglinde said with a laugh as she sat up and took the candy Ironheart offered her. "Thank you, though." She took a bite. It tasted like she just bought it from a convenience store five minutes ago. She looked down. "It sounds like you've had a rough time out here. No matter what I do, it'll never be enough. I can't help everyone alone." She sighed. "What is the government doing...? Will we really never be able to live in peace?" She shook her head. "Ah, sorry. I'm just thinking out loud here. Don't worry about it. Should we sleep in shifts?"
Guyver's Bane
"There is no government," Ironheart said unwrapping another candy bar for himself. "Only those self appointed greedy bastards that run the Havens. But, yeah sleeping in shifts is a good Idea."
They were both silent for a while. Then Ironheart spoke.
"I wasn't always like this," he said tapping his mask. "It was an accident, car crash. My parents and me were trying to escape from the city. But my dad lost control of the car, and we hit a tree. Zombies swarmed us. They threw me in and locked the safety locks."
Ironheart crumpled up his wrapper and threw it into the darkness.
"This scar is all I have left to remember them by. I got it, while they died trying to protect me. I hide it, so I can hide from the memory."
Ironheart stood up. "I'll take first watch, you get some sleep."
Sparrowsmith
Will reluctantly got up and moved to the the second chamber, "If you're sure about this..." he shrugged, placing his shotgun against the wall. "Wake me up at any sign of trouble, or if you feel tired."
He gradually began to fall asleep...

Siegmund grunted when William expressed his unease. "I get paid to do this. I'll make sure to keep you safe from the things that go bump in the night." He had always made it seem like money was all he cared about. It was better for him to seem like a self-centered bastard. No one ever suspected that he was funding small resistance groups and the Seekers with most of his paychecks. He also gave them government-issued weapons, under the guise of being a collector who enjoyed gathering all kinds of guns and the like. If the Havens didn't want his sister in them, then he'll destroy them.

Meanwhile...

"I know what you mean," Sieglinde said after Ironheart told her about his painful past. "My parents were killed by zombies trying to save some Renegades. They left my brother and I in Haven 7 and came out to the wastelands to help people. One day, while out on duty, a Renegade approached Siegmund with a picture of him. When Siegmund asked where he got it, the man said he got it from our parents. They had a bunch of photos of us and would always share them with the Renegades. Always going on about how proud of us they were. The Renegade told my brother about our parents' death. That day was the first and last time I've ever seen him cry. He's made the world his enemy. He wants do destroy the Havens that forsook our parents. And eradicate the zombies that killed them. I came out here to carry on our parents' legacy and Siegmund said I was stupid for doing so. But I know he's always out here somewhere, keeping watch over me." She paused. "Sorry, I know you didn't ask for my life story. But thanks for listening. Wake me up when you feel tired. Good night."
Guyver's Bane
Sieglinde didn't know it, but Ironheart was glad to hear it. He had been alone for a long time, and any conversation was welcomed. As he stood there watching her sleep, he couldn't help but think if he had put this girl in danger. Ironheart was a constant target of some headstrong Pitter looking to make a name for himself. If one of them came knocking....would Sieglinde be the one to answer?
No. He won't allow that happen. So long as he can fight, she'd be safe. It was strange the way he felt right now. Ironheart was feeling like her protector.
Like a brother.

James waited for will to fall asleep before walking up behind Siegmund. "Siegmund... why are you here... I mean Nobody accepts an offer to leave the havens... Even if it means promotion... I know this is a personal question, you don't have to answer if you don't want to, but why are you with us?"
Satou Asahira
"Must be fate," Siegmund said after awhile. "It seems like every member of my family finds themselves out here eventually. My parents joined the Renegades. They couldn't stand being inside the Havens while so many people suffered outside. They traveled around, looking for people to help. It eventually got them killed. My sister left too, to carry on their legacy. Haven't seen her in quite some time. And here I am myself. Strange, isn't it?" He laughed sadly. "Get some sleep. I need some time to think."

Meanwhile...

Sieglinde woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. There was no running water so she had to go outside. She walked past Ironheart but didn't recognize him because she was still half-asleep. "You're still up, Siegmund? Get some sleep. I'll take over from here. Who's gonna protect me if my brother is too sleepy to fight?" She yawned and went outside.
Kisuke Urahara
"you live a strange life. I don't believe in fate. Night." James wandered off to bed.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Nakamura (ooc: yes he finally arrived). Was watching his comrades... It seemed like a pointless task to attack Haven 5... It was one of the most heavily guarded of all the Havens... Even if they did have a zombie horde... Nakamura stretched his legs and shouted. "it was a meaningless word, it was only meant to get the zombies attention. Some of the zombies looked round but even they started toward a small town. "HEY! Over here!" Nakamura started waving his arms around. "MIKE! The zombies have seen someone!" A tall man ran over from a pair of bikes. "Where?" Nakamura looked over to the town. "It looks like they're headed for a service station." He looked again. "Someone stepped outside."

(OoC: Whoopsies~)

James finally decided to go off to bed too, leaving Siegmund to his thoughts. Sieglinde, where are you? Will I ever see you again? I just hope you're safe and not alone out here...

Meanwhile...

Sieglinde pulled up her shorts and was about to go inside when she heard a familiar groan that instantly woke her up. Oh no! I was careless! She reached for her guns but remembered she left them inside. By her makeshift bed in case a zombie came in to attack her. How ironic. She dashed back inside and moved the shelf back in front of the door. "Siegmund! There are-" she stopped when she noticed it was Ironheart and not her brother. "Ah, sorry. I mistook you for my brother," she said with a nervous laugh. "But there's a whole crowd of zombies headed this way! Get ready for them!" She ran to grab her bedrolls and took cover behind a candy display. "They'll be here any minute..."
Kisuke Urahara
"Dam!" Nakamura ran down into the town ahead the zombies. "well Mike... You wanted something to Excite them! I'll see if the people inside will help us stop them!" He banged on the Bookcase that was baring the door. "Hey I'm human open up!"
Guyver's Bane
Ironheart took out both pistols. He was ready for the fight.
"Stay inside," he said cocking his SAR now."We'll hold them off from in here."
Iroheart glanced at his sword. Wondering whether or not he would be forced to use it.
"If we have to, we can get up on the roof and fight them off. And dont worry....I'll make sure you see your brother again."
Satou Asahira
"I'm glad I met you, Ironheart," Sieglinde said. "You're truly a kind person. You remind me a lot of my brother."
There was banging on the door. Sieglinde aimed at door. "Hey I'm human open up!" came a voice from the other side.
"What should we do? He could be a bad person but if we don't let him in, the zombies will get him...Should we take our chances or play it safe?"
Guyver's Bane
The person knocking on the door sounded human enough. "Let him in. If tries anything...bang!" Ironheart hoped this new arrival meant to be friendly. He'd hate to have to kill him, when there were zombies shuffling closer and closer.
