The great thing about doing a Doctor Who roleplay is that—even though it’s a marvelous show and it has a very extensive history—very rare in the series itself does an adventure involve more than the Doctor who actually knows what’s going on. There’s also ample opportunity for short RP stints, reprises of characters, or even one player playing multiple characters over the course of the RP.
Only the person playing the Doctor(at this point, yours truly) and anyone wishing to reprise a series favorite would have to have watched any of the show itself. Below is a comprehensive discussion of anything you would need to know to play… complete with beauteous fan videos.

Well, I would hope this hardly needs explaining... however, because of the nature of the Doctor’s travel, I must say that there will technically be multiple “Earths”—aka Earth in different time periods.
New(x13) Earth
This is a planet founded by humans. It is one of many “New Earth”s as the Doctor pointed out to Rose during their visit. This seems to be one of his favored planets as he took both Rose and Martha—and mentioned it to Donna. And, yes, eventually--we will visit here again.

And, as in the show, there are still plenty more worlds and galaxies waiting to be mentioned/discovered.

The Rules
The only rules I’d like to stress are that:
1. This role-play is based off of a FAMILY show so please keep even innuendo at the minimum and try not to swear.
2. The Doctor is the last Lord of Time who has been through Hell(the Demon Pit) and back… his fury is to be feared. Do not be unfair, rude, or unkind—even in character—unless you are welcoming his wrath(you very well could be banned from the RP or trapped in a mirror—forced to watch the fun without being able to join in… for the rest of your life!). There are some exceptions such as people playing bad guys, of course… but the character will receive the wrath of a time lord. The Doctor is relentless if he has to be.
3. Try to keep posts actively relevant to the role-play as well as character building. No one likes to play with against(opposite) a character who merely thinks to themselves. If you do this one multiple occasions, you may be kicked out of the role-play. But no worries, you’ll have ample warning.
4. Have fun and remember—lots of running involved… love the running. So put on your trainers and get ready to go!

Until End of Time, this is perfectly canonical. Everything that happened until that point HAPPENED. We're simply just ignoring Smith... and changing how Tennant's Doctor died.

In other words--ABSOLUTELY! Yes. I love the old characters.

Slitheen Mmm... the Slitheen really get on my nerves so I won't plan them. But if someone comes along wanting to play a Slitheen and get turned into an egg by the *cough* be dealt with by the Doctor--sure thing!
The Rani anyone who watched the old series should know I'm talking about the mad scientist Time Lord--not the little girl in Sarah Jane. She'll be there.

Basically... if there's someone/thing in the series up to David Tennant--they're free game in the RP.

Well, we have William's introduction to the roleplay which--since it's harry's first RP and he's a bit nervous about messing up--we're going to do in PMs and then post for everyone to see. From there... there aren't any REAL storylines planned as of yet because I want it to be a mostly collaborative effort to do this BUT there are some key encounters I have planned.
Jenny, Rose(yes, yes... but, FEMALE DOCTOR... it's irresistable), Sarah Jane + Luke, Cap'n Jack and crew...

5) can the doctor die?
Yes, the Doctor can die. And in that event, I would create another character and play along with the new Doctor. HOWEVER--the entire active cast must agree upon HOW the Doctor dies and who is to replace them as the new Doctor.

Which brings up the question, when was the last time the doctor in this RP saw the master?
Just so I can think of a way to bring him in.

@SparrowSmith We are not going with the End of Time episode because 10 dies differently before the beginning of the RP than in the show. So the last we know, the Master is dead and burned to a crisp. And... we're not going to have someone who is FOR SURE someone important like the Master or the Rani.

EDIT: until, that is, we have seen the person's RPing style within DoC and the whole cast agrees. Same goes for replacing the Fem Doc if I die. And... because we have to agree on a new Doctor--the Fem Doc will not die until we have agreed on the regeneration's player.

So... there is no outline or anything. I always find a RP more enjoyable when there is no set plot.


BTW: I was a very active roleplayer on Amaranthia.com when the site crashed... and trying to salvage roleplays was HELL. So I'm going to be archiving all of the posts in case something like that were to happen on this site... or if anyone just wants an offline version but doesn't want to suddenly have to go through all the work of compiling lots of pages at once.

The tutorial episode with Harry (Zombie's Pulse) is nearing its end. We are just about ready to go public... but before we do so--we need a bad guy. Someone who wants to incapacitate the entire Earth with a mind-numbing/washing pulse. Any takers?

Well, as stated before, this RP will be broken up into episodes. The Doctor and Will are currently running to the broadcast station to send out a cancelling pulse to make everyone normal and non-zombie again. But of course there needs to be a conflict with the people who did it in the first place. These people can be brought back at a later time or they can be used for this episode and this episode alone. I, of course, can do it... it's just a bit less fun.
